Big Sky Motel

It was clean and fine for a one-night stay. The beds were not comfortable. The front desk person was very friendly.

This small motel is right off the highway but a quick on/off. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is very clean and homey! The small touches like pretty pictures and the placement of wash clothes really adds a nice touch. The breakfast is coffee or bottled water with a big muffin, granola bar and fruit.

While the woman at the front desk was delightful, and the room impressively clean, the prices charged are excessive for this level of hotel in a rural setting. $30 to keep a pet is also excessive. Should be $15-20. Including that, for me, one person for one night, charges exceeded $200. That's not market value. The limited breakfast of all unhealthy (high fat and high sugar) foods was a disappointment. Adding insult to the price injury, a tipping envelope was left in my room, a first for my years of traveling experience.

While our stay was better than our previous visit, there is still room for improvement. The overall appearance of the room was not great. Missing trim , carpet in poor condition, the heater sounded like a car with a bad belt. The only saving grace was the room was clean and the beds were half way comfortable. 120 something a night for this is excessive. Especially when I am paying the same amount at the Redlion in Polson next weekend.

Big sky Motel is an older facility. It’s a tiny little town set in between mountains. The highway does go right next to it but it set the low it enough that the road noise isn’t much at least on the side we were on. It’s older, but it’s very clean in the front desk. House was very nice. It was perfect for our overnight stay And route to the Oregon coast. It was a great price with great amenities for what we were looking for.

Not sure if if it's just our bad luck but we have stayed in 8 different hotels/motels in the past 5 weeks and the quality was very poor. Being some what frugal we have no problem staying in an older hotel to save some money. The problem is that they are very run done and not being maintained. The Big Sky Motel was no different. Stained carpets, paint peeling, caulking deteriorated and black, beds in need of replacement, air conditioner filters dirty, doors damaged, TV out dated and in need of a cleaning, entry hallway filthy, windows dirty, etc., etc., etc. Very disappointing to stay in this place.

They have done a good job updating the rooms.

I liked that the room had not only a microwave but a full size frig an stove top. And there were laundry facilities. Room was clean, quiet and large.

I was surprised at how quiet my room was and there wasn't much air traffic either. It does not have much "surroundings". It's at the end of a runway, but I never saw or heard any airplanes while I was there. The room was nice, clean satisfactory for my one night. The clock by the bed could not be adjusted. or was broken? On the other hand, the staff could care less. I was disappointed at check-in. They seemed to be disturbed that I was there. Like they had something else to do and I was interrupting them. After check-in, I was in and out of the lobby three times or more and never ever saw a person, even when I dropped my key card off as I was leaving. A smile or pleasant attitude wouldn't hurt to improve the atmosphere. Yes, I know I was just a one-night sleep-over, But for $100 /- for 6 hours of sleep should be shown some appreciation. I get more from Motel 6...
