Polite front desk clerk. Room was OK, kind of average but no complaint. Window glass was unbelievably dirty that you don't want open the curtain even sunshine was beautiful. What really surprised me was breakfast. Food was obviously not matching Shangri-La brand equity. Maybe it was due to weekend promotion but no idea. When we arrived the table was not ready. I waited for the table yo be cleaned. A young lady came with tablewares. Before she did any cleaning she dropped the tablewares on the table and then about to clean. I asked her why she did that before cleaning. She realized something and moved the tablewares to a chair (CHAIR!) which is another surprise. But the best part has yet to start. She used a mop to rub on the table. I could see some food residues turning into paste and spreading on the table. The rest was wiped off to carpet...! Can you believe? How did you guys train and qualify new staff before the start working? I complained to the manager. Fortunately He understood and and cleaned the carpet. Shangri-La was one of my favorites. Hope it will continue to be.

It is an old hotel in the new district with an antique decoration style. The check-in experience was great! Due to a delayed flight, I missed the subway. It was almost 12 o'clock when I took a taxi. The customer service at the front desk was very considerate, warmly said hello for your hard work, checked in quickly, and took the initiative to upgrade the buffet breakfast! The room layout is unique, and the best thing is the restaurant on the first floor! Eating there is a gourmet experience! The transportation nearby is very convenient, and the stay is very cost-effective!

I was moved again at the last minute! I was going to the underground garage before leaving, and the elevator leading to the garage was on the upper floor. I saw a tall boy and casually asked: Is there a staircase to go down to the garage? The younger brother said: Follow me! Accompanying me all the way to the garage (because there is an access control, only employees can open it, and taking the elevator leads directly to the garage), I would like to express my gratitude again! Check-in, room cleaning, facilities and equipment are all very good. The underground of the hotel is connected to Suzhou's second subway! The only thing is that the breakfast is a bit inferior and not very ”rich”. Some reviews online are a bit exaggerated...

Not knowing Suzhou at all, I thought I had chosen a hotel to suit my needs for exploring the history whilst still being near the modern. This hotel is ideal for both. With a metro station (line 3) Shajinqiao, within a 10 minute walk, literally, just round the corner, and a taxi ride to either end of where I wanted to be costing me under 30RMB, this was an absolute gem of a find. On arrival, the staff were very good and extremely helpful. I was checked in without any fuss, with the usual pandemic checks, travel codes, health codes and I showed both 48hr and 24hr covid tests. The room was cosy, with excellent air-conditioning, a very comfortable bed and very clean. The toilet was intelligent, electronic and quite a novelty. It even warmed my posterior whilst sitting on it! The hotel provides a kettle and 2 free bottles of water daily though there may at one time have been a mini fridge, it was not there on this visit. Breakfast is served at reasonable times with the last orders being done 10:30am. (11 am at weekends). It is a decent spread, predominantly Chinese food, rice, vegetables, meats with cooked-to-order eggs, porridge (Chinese rice style) and a cold buffet. There are delicious pastries, toast and fruit. Tea and coffee are available along with a varied selection of fruit juices. The restaurant is airy, bright and clean. Plenty of seating is available. Room lighting was bright and cheerful but could be set to 'mood' which dimmed and made for a more intimate atmosphere. On Didi App, the hotel does not come under Atour Hotel. You will need to search for Yi He Cha Can Yin Guan Li You Xian Gong Si. At the time of writing, Suzhou was low risk. However, the recommendation was for Suzhou citizens not to travel and if they had to, to show a 48hr covid test. I had a bit of trouble with getting the app to work and thanks very much, eternal gratitude, to the wonderfully patient and supportive reception staff who all contributed, made phone calls and tried their best to get the app to work. Eventually, we succeeded. That is service and that was fantastic. Highly recommend this hotel.
