"I saw some negative reviews and was a bit worried, but it turned out to be quite good. The hotel environment is truly beautiful and clean 👍. The hotel breakfast offers a wide variety, but the food itself isn't particularly tasty, which was a little disappointing. I tried the food at the hotel's Haitan Tower, and it was pretty good. I even left a tip, but the service was definitely lacking and needs improvement. No one even escorted us to our table or said 'thank you, please come again' after we paid. The service was just really bad. It felt like, 'eat your food, pay, and then leave on your own.'"

It's right by Pingjiang Road Ancient Town, and Humble Administrator's Garden is just a 10-minute walk away. I originally planned to stay for one night but ended up extending for another. While they don't have dining facilities, Pingjiang Road is just a left turn outside, offering tons of food options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's fully equipped and only a 10-minute walk from where I needed to be, plus there's a subway entrance right outside. The front desk staff were lovely; check-in took literally a minute, and they even upgraded my room. The room itself was clean and tidy, and the bedding was so soft – after a long day of work, I fell asleep instantly. I had an early start the next day, and breakfast was ready at 7 AM. The front desk staff were not only professional and efficient, but their genuine warmth was truly remarkable, making a traveler far from home feel incredibly welcome. If I visit Suzhou again, I will definitely choose this place."

"I rarely take the time to write a hotel review. Usually, the hotel for a business trip is chosen by the office, and the person traveling is just informed where to stay, so before this trip, I only knew the city and the hotel's name, without much further research. Later, I discovered how truly unique this place was. Before I even arrived in the city, the hotel called to ask about my arrival method and time, and sent me directions. Upon arrival, I was personally guided to my room, and they even helped me with my luggage. For this price point, I don't think other hotels would offer this level of service. They also provided a complimentary afternoon tea, which was a lovely touch. I stayed for two days, and they thoughtfully asked if I needed housekeeping without me having to remind the staff (as I prefer not to have people enter my room). It's a really great hotel, highly recommended."

"This was my second visit to Suzhou, and my friend recommended the Wanhe River View Inn. It truly turned out to be the best choice for this trip! As soon as I reached the alley entrance, I was captivated by the white walls and black-tiled facade. Stepping inside, I was even more pleasantly surprised. The Chinese Zen-inspired decor was perfectly executed, with wooden window lattices, bamboo lanterns, and a dry landscape garden. Every detail showed thoughtfulness, and every photo I took captured the essence of Jiangnan, no need to even try to find the perfect angle. The owner was incredibly welcoming. They asked for our arrival time in advance and thoughtfully sent detailed directions. Concerned we might not plan our itinerary well, they even provided a guide to exploring the ancient town after we checked in, clearly explaining which alleys were less crowded for photos and which snack shops were the most authentic. This saved us so much time on research. We booked the Menglan River View Room, and the view was absolutely fantastic. Opening the window, we could see the authentic Suzhou waterside riverbanks and steps. In the evening, sitting on the rattan chairs on the third-floor terrace, enjoying the breeze and the scenery, I felt completely relaxed. The room amenities were also very thoughtful; toiletries were disposable, and the bedding was super soft, making for a wonderfully comfortable sleep. The complimentary fruit platter was genuinely generous and so heartwarming. Next time I visit Suzhou, I will definitely choose Wanhe River View Inn again. It's truly rare to find a guesthouse that feels so much like home!"

"I saw this highly-rated hotel on Ctrip and was immediately drawn to it, so I spontaneously booked a trip. The 'garden-style hotel with very cute mynahs' left the deepest impression on me. When I got to the room and saw the walkway by the pond, I remembered coming here years ago with a friend, and I had a good impression even then. My family was very satisfied this time too! 👍 The environment, service, and breakfast were all great! 👍 This time, I even got to sit in the hotel, quietly drink tea, and listen to Pingtan opera, which was very relaxing. "The location is really convenient. It's only one subway stop from the train station and right next to Beisi Pagoda. There are several local old-school eateries right next to the hotel that I always frequent whenever I'm in town. It's also just a 7-8 minute bike ride to Humble Administrator's Garden and Pingjiang Road, so transportation is super easy. When I booked, I was drawn to the floor-to-ceiling windows and the bathtub, which is a great value for money in a bustling area like this. The hotel's facade is small, but the room itself is very spacious and comfortable. The hotel is thoughtful enough to provide all sorts of disposable travel amenities. The owner is very friendly and gives great recommendations for sightseeing routes and attractions. The staff are all warm, genuine, and always willing to help. It feels much cozier and safer than a typical hotel. I'd definitely stay here again if I get the chance to visit Suzhou in the future!"
