GGuest UserWe had a wonderful 2 nights in this family-run hotel. The host was extremely kind, friendly and helpful; he made us feel completely at home, and even gave us two delicious homemade ‘lard cakes’ to take with us because we’d enjoyed them so much at breakfast one morning!
The rooms are lovely - spacious, very light, bright and private. Really nice interior design. Ours was on the top floor with a roof top deck and great views over the lake and village.
The bed was very comfortable with fresh, clean linen and towels. There’s a kettle on the room but you need to bring your own tea or coffee. That said, tea and hot water were available 24-hours a day downstairs.
The meals in the hotel restaurant were delicious and fresh; they’re cooked onsite with ingredients that are caught or grown on the island, and are very good value. We ate breakfast (included) both mornings and dinner on our first night.
We felt very welcome and would definitely stay here again if we came back.
The main thing to note is that the host (and very few people on the island) speak English, so having some Chinese definitely helps! But we felt very welcome at all times, even when our language skills reached their limits!

HHasbiniIt was a great experience… the hotel was clean and comfortable the rooms where spacious and the amenities that were available were very pleasant. But the place is nothing without the staff they had an amazing helpful staff especially Dong La Mei she went out of her way to make our stay at the hotel as comfortable as possible…. If there was a 6 star rating for the staff it would go for her. I would definitely recommend a stay there and I’m actually looking forward to visiting again.

GGuest UserMy husband and I were met with the warmest of welcomes here! The hosts and staff were all really friendly and willing to even prepare some dinner for us after we arrived late in the evening. The gardens are beautiful and well-tended and lovely to just walk around in or sit and enjoy. We had a queen bed room Mountain View - which was quite spacious, smelled fresh and was exceptionally clean, with sufficient amenities even a balcony and mini-sauna. Breakfast was local-style and very filling. This location is great for a remote getaway experience, for some peace and quiet and if you want to explore nature. The only thing to note is that the surrounding village is rather small so there aren’t many other food options/ stores etc, so best to come prepared. All in all, we had a wonderful time and are hoping to return in the spring!

GGuest UserThe hotel is beautiful, very clean and stylish, we were very pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious, a huge window facing hillside that allowed a calm, relaxing retreat from a busy city life. The only negative thing I could mention is the creaking bed, but otherwise it's comfortable. The breakfast is Chinese style, so don't expect a continental one, but it was very good, tasty and nutritious (baozi, egg, porridge, corn, sweet potato) There aren't many restaurants open nearby, and basically no shops at all, so better to bring some snack just in case you can't find something to your taste.And if you arrive without a car, expect to walk a lot, but the lake and the surroundings are beautiful, I definitely recommend this place.

DDaziranjuangudexiaoxiaoThis stay was a complete surprise from start to finish, and I have to rave about it! The hotel's surroundings are quiet and elegant, with exceptionally healing views. Every step offers a new scene that helps you relax and escape the city's hustle and bustle, making for a truly comfortable and pleasant stay.
It happened to be our 10th wedding anniversary, and after mentioning it briefly to the front desk, the hotel was incredibly thoughtful and upgraded us for free to a private hot spring courtyard room! The courtyard was quiet and private, and having our own hot spring was serene and romantic – it absolutely set the perfect mood, full of ceremony.
The room was clean and tidy, with a warm and comfortable layout, and attention to detail was evident everywhere. The service was gentle and attentive, warm and considerate without being intrusive. The entire experience was superb. From the environment and room type to the heartwarming service, everything was impeccable. It was a truly memorable stay, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone. I'll definitely choose this place again next time!

PPandadadaPros: The hotel is very new, just opened, and there's no unpleasant renovation smell inside. The interior and public areas are well-designed with an artistic touch, without being overly luxurious. It's very close and convenient to Suzhou MixC World. There's a FamilyMart downstairs.
Cons:
I stayed for 6 consecutive days on a business trip, but housekeeping only came to clean on the fifth day. During the interim, they only emptied the trash, completely ignoring dirty dishes in the sink. The floor was already very dirty, but they never vacuumed or mopped, only took out the trash. One day I happened to see the cleaning staff on my way out and asked for a proper cleaning. The staff asked me if I wanted a 'big clean' or a 'small clean'? (I was a bit confused hearing this, as I've stayed in hotels for many years and never heard of such a thing).
The room has a capsule coffee machine, but I couldn't find any coffee cups, only drinking glasses that were too big to fit under it.
About half of the front desk staff are new and appear to be fresh to the hotel industry. This impacts the service, as they lack the experience to handle issues.
They have robots for food delivery, but one might have been faulty because it reached my door but the phone didn't ring. The robot then returned to the front desk, and the front desk staff didn't seem to realize the delivery failed. You have to keep an eye on it yourself.
There were no cotton swabs in the toiletries; you had to specifically ask for them. There's a washing machine, but you also have to ask the front desk for laundry detergent pods.
Summary: For 684 RMB (Ctrip price), the service standards definitely need improvement. I'm comparing this to Ascott, as I frequently travel for business and prefer serviced apartments. The service here is a bit disappointing for a 'Marriott' brand.

GGuest UserVisited Suzhou for a short holiday and stayed at the Taihu Marriott Hotel. The hotel boasts a beautiful environment, warm service, clean rooms, and a rich breakfast spread. The scallion oil waffles with sauce were especially unique and delicious. The customer service also provided a guide to nearby attractions, and the fireworks display, lasting about five to six minutes, was particularly stunning. We didn't even have to go downstairs to the lawn; we could watch it right from our room. Overall, we were very satisfied. Thumbs up for the Taihu Marriott Hotel!

GGuest UserThis is one of my favorite hotels! The stay included two hot spring tickets, but the front desk staff, knowing I was traveling alone, thoughtfully swapped one for a breakfast voucher instead. The room was very clean and comfortable, and I really liked the Chinese-style decor. The bed was super comfy, and even the hairdryer was good. They even gave me snacks upon check-in – extra thoughtful! The breakfast buffet was plentiful, a great mix of Chinese and Western dishes. The robot ice cream machine was a fun touch; I had two, and they were delicious. The hot springs were also excellent. I visited at the tail end of a holiday, so it was quiet with fewer people. There's also some lovely scenery nearby. Unfortunately, I only had time to visit Emerald Lake, but it was truly beautiful and put a perfect end to my trip. If any friends come to Suzhou, I'll definitely recommend they stay at this hotel.

GGuest UserA truly delightful stay from check-in to check-out, every detail was perfect. A big thank you to our butler, Lumi, who was always responsive to our needs and even upgraded our room due to special circumstances. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and professional, making the check-in process efficient and addressing all our requests promptly. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding comfortable, and the housekeeping team was absolutely wonderful. The breakfast spread was extensive, and the local specialty snacks are definitely worth trying. The restaurant staff proactively asked about coffee/tea preferences. We received welcome fruits upon arrival and a thoughtful souvenir upon departure, which made us feel very special. We also enjoyed the travel photography, spa, hot springs, and private hot tub, all of which were very satisfying. Honestly, from the moment we arrived until we left, we interacted with many staff members from various departments, and every single one was exceptional. I'd give full marks to each and every staff member, with a special thanks to our butler Lumi. I'm already looking forward to my next holiday in Suzhou and staying at the Banyan Tree again!

GGuest UserThe room is very clean and the configuration is very high-end. It doesn't look like a B&B in the countryside. The designer's positioning is worthy of the name;
The boss is very nice. If you need anything in the room, you can just ask him. You can also ask for advice on travel itineraries and buying souvenirs.
Finally, a vacation in Xishan is really good and relaxing. But I didn’t see the sunset this time. It's a bit of a pity. . .
