"We were lured to this hotel through recommendation of influencers that boast this hotel with it's majestic look of that looking like a Chinese traditional castle. Although the location is not quite what we really like as it is about 8-10mins walking from the nearest Metro Station (Nanmen Metro) but the price was quite affordable and enticing that we decided to give it a try. The hotel facade does looks magnificant, grand and big from afar, the interior is huge and traditionally well-kept even though the design looks a bit dated but I find that it stays classy and traditional that way. We were assigned to one of the furthest room all the way to the back at 5069. The walk was quite long since it was all the way at the back. Room is definitely big and allow opening of luggages all at one go. The amenities given was sufficient, except they can improve by giving more shower bath gel and shampoo as the small bottles was not enough. Was also hoping they could have install international plugs for their international guest being an international hotel chain as well. Their staffs were polite and professional. Woudl recommend anyone coming to Suzhou to give this hotel one shot at least! The most important thing is the hotel stay comes with complimentary park access which is connected at the back of the hotel which would cost RMB40 if you were to pay to go in! Worth it!"

There is no shortage of things to see in the area, with the Suzhou Silk Museum, Couple's Retreat Garden(Ouyuan Garden) and Night Tour in the Humble Administrator's Garden 'Zhuozheng Wenya' all nearby. Our guests consider this hotel to have excellent service. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.

"The room layout is well-designed, and it's very clean. It even has its own small garden, and the view from the street-facing window is beautiful. Yuyu Inn boasts an excellent location; it's right by Lion Grove Garden, just a three or four-minute walk to Humble Administrator's Garden, a ten-minute walk to Pingjiang Road, and only a few subway stops from Tiger Hill. Dining options are convenient too; right around the corner from the inn is Suyuanji Noodle House, which is clean and serves delicious food (I even included photos of the noodle house for fellow travelers' reference).. Initially, I booked for one night. As soon as I left Huangshan North Station, I received a call from the inn's front desk asking if I needed a parking space and letting me know they had already turned on the room's heating. When we arrived, the room was warm and cozy, which felt incredibly thoughtful. After settling in, the front desk even helped us plan a reasonable itinerary, so we promptly extended our stay for another night. On the second day, my mother wanted an apple. The kind front desk lady, with her hair in a bun, didn't hesitate and rode her own electric scooter to take me to the farmers' market to buy fresh fruit, saving me a lot of trouble. The lobby has a relaxed tea area, making you feel at home where you can enjoy tea. The inn also has a small courtyard, a miniature garden with a pavilion, a fish pond, and a very well-behaved cat. Since we were traveling with an elder, we booked a ground-floor room facing the street. Initially, I was worried it might be noisy, but I later found it to be quiet both day and night because there's no vehicle traffic or many pedestrians. We slept very well. All in all, I'm very satisfied; the value for money is outstanding. I'll definitely stay at Yuyu Inn again on my next visit."

"I rarely take the time to write a hotel review. Usually, the hotel for a business trip is chosen by the office, and the person traveling is just informed where to stay, so before this trip, I only knew the city and the hotel's name, without much further research. Later, I discovered how truly unique this place was. Before I even arrived in the city, the hotel called to ask about my arrival method and time, and sent me directions. Upon arrival, I was personally guided to my room, and they even helped me with my luggage. For this price point, I don't think other hotels would offer this level of service. They also provided a complimentary afternoon tea, which was a lovely touch. I stayed for two days, and they thoughtfully asked if I needed housekeeping without me having to remind the staff (as I prefer not to have people enter my room). It's a really great hotel, highly recommended."

The Scholars Hotel Suzhou Pingjiangfu (Shuxiangshijia Huisuojiudian Suzhou Pingjiangfudian) is located in the heart of Suzhou old town and handy for visiting the many local attractions and classical Chinese gardens found there. An attractive hotel, it features traditional Chinese-style architecture, courtyards featuring pools of water and sculptured rock. Guestrooms boast contemporary furnishings with traditional touches and all the usual amenities required for a comfortable stay.

"I apologize that I can't give a full five-star rating after much deliberation. Let's start with the downsides: the hotel is a bit old, the facilities are quite dated, and the smart toilet didn't seem to work very well despite multiple attempts. Now for the environment: the hotel is integrated with Ban Yuan, and the Suzhou-style garden features are perfectly executed. The mynah birds in Ban Yuan are adorable, and the garden hotel itself is quite unique. As for the positives, the service is excellent. Check-in and check-out at the lobby were very smooth, and the staff's attitude was exceptionally good. The two porters were incredibly kind and thoughtful; they warned us about scams and even drove us to our night tour. We received complimentary fruit, along with a peeler. We were worried about long queues for breakfast as there was a conference happening during our stay, but the hotel arranged things very well by separating it into two restaurants. The Suzhou-style noodles, wontons, and toppings for breakfast were all delicious, and there was even douhua – we ate until we were stuffed! The service is absolutely spot-on and impeccable, and there's free parking. The body lotion is very good, and the scent is pleasant. The hotel's location is excellent, within walking distance to the Suzhou Museum, Lion Grove Garden, Humble Administrator's Garden, and Pingjiang Road. We also received complimentary tickets to Ou Garden. The room was very warm in winter, which is great for the air conditioning to achieve such a temperature, though it was a bit noisy. The room I booked was probably in the lowest price category, so that's understandable. The value for money is still decent."

"I've been to Suzhou countless times since I was a child, going on spring outings there, and also because I love Suzhou pingtan (storytelling and ballad singing). So, when planning a short, leisurely trip, Suzhou is usually my go-to. This time, I specifically chose a hotel in the Jinji Lake Scenic Area to experience modern, new Suzhou. After staying two nights at the Crowne Plaza Suzhou, I highly recommend this hotel! The location is superb. You step right out into a shopping district and a metro station. You can conveniently reach Shantang Street, North Temple Pagoda (yesterday, I walked from North Temple Pagoda through Pishi Street to Guanqian Street, then east to Daru Lane and Pingjiang Road – it was amazing for someone who loves Suzhou like me) by taking Metro Line 1 and transferring to Line 2 or 4. The shopping district around the hotel is also great, making shopping and dining very convenient. This morning, I took a comfortable one-hour walk along the Jinji Lake shore from the hotel. Now, about the hotel itself. If you're driving, parking is very convenient (the underground garage has a direct elevator). The front desk staff were very warm and attentive, and both check-in and check-out were incredibly fast (actually, before my trip, a staff member proactively called and added me on WeChat, sending hotel information and answering many of my questions). The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. The breakfast had a rich variety, with both Chinese and Western options, and tasted great. The value for money is excellent. Next time I'm in the area, I will definitely choose Crowne Plaza Suzhou again. Afterward, I asked and found out the front desk staff member who proactively contacted me was named Dolphin 🐬 and the room attendant was Scallop (their names perfectly fit the hotel's theme). Thank you for your excellent service! I hope your leaders see this and give you bigger year-end bonuses. Hahaha."

The ZHUOJIAN·Si Jitang boutique homestay, known as Pan House, was built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. The Pan family, originally from Jiangxi, had been engaged in porcelain business in Suzhou and constructed this two-entrance, two-story building in the mid-Qing Dynasty. Before liberation, the descendants of the Pan family left mainland China, and the building was subsequently nationalized. Pan House faces west with two main routes and four courtyards, featuring a garden at the back. The second courtyard on the north route houses a grand hall that is 11.2 meters wide and 13.6 meters deep, with intricate carvings of theatrical scenes on its beams. A horizontal plaque inscribed 'Si Jitang' from the second year of the Xuantong era (1910) hangs above. The front has two side rooms, while the third courtyard features a flower basket hall with fine carvings, and the garden still contains a square pavilion and a boxthorn tree. Located within the Pingjiang Road-Zhuozheng Garden Historical and Cultural Conservation Area, it is adjacent to world heritage sites such as the Humble Administrator's Garden and the Lion Grove Garden, as well as the National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit, the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom's Zhongwang Mansion. Currently, it is a controlled protection building in Suzhou City. The ZHUOJIAN·Si Jitang boutique homestay and the Suzhou Amber Art Museum are situated here. Si Jitang, a century-old residence, is like a hidden gem buried deep in time. Time seems to slow down, distancing itself from the city's hustle and bustle, allowing people to fully relax, find a quiet corner, brew a cup of fragrant tea, savor it slowly, letting thoughts drift amidst the aroma, or pick up a book, sit under an ancient tree, and quietly read, enjoying that tranquility and comfort...

"Afternoon Tea at Zhujian Sijitang: Enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea with my child at the guesthouse. We basked in the sun and ordered a pot of Longjing tea, which was fragrant and delicious. My child especially loved the red dates! Complimentary Hanfu Experience: Taking advantage of the beautiful sunshine, I dressed my child up a bit. We got to experience being a Hanfu princess right at the guesthouse for free! My little princess even played the guqin and was so happy! I give full marks for the guesthouse's service – it was warm, thoughtful, attentive, and friendly! I'm also incredibly satisfied with the guesthouse's environment. It's right next to the Suzhou Museum, a very quiet private garden-style guesthouse. The old trees in the courtyard are also beautiful; I can only imagine how stunning it must be in spring and autumn!"

AAnonymous UserMy family and I totally enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean and amenities are really good. The service staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. The location is actually very good for tourist because it is very convenient to assess a lot of food and photo taking sceneries. The thing is, it is not exactly easy to find the taxi will only send you to a place nearby and then you would have to figure out how to go to the hotel. There are some rooms on the second level so it might be a bit tiring to climb up the stairs but we were fortunate to get rooms on the ground floor with a courtyard view. Do look out for mosquitoes but there are mosquito repellent provided. Breakfast is also provided, we had noodles and some condiments. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel. MM224225****It's absolutely no surprise this B&B has been crowned the most beautiful in Zhouzhuang Ancient Town for several years running! The owner's design perfectly blends ancient charm with modern comfort; every single corner is a picturesque delight, offering endless photo opportunities. What truly touched my heart was the proprietress's exceptional kindness. She welcomed us with refreshing watermelon and snacks right when we arrived, and even had more thoughtfully prepared for us after a long day of exploring. The beautifully designed courtyard, complete with fish, turtles, and a swimming pool, adds so much character. It genuinely offers a unique and enchanting take on the classic beauty of a Jiangnan water town.

JJimodelianrenaFor my father's birthday, I chose the newest five-star hotel in Gusu District for this Suzhou trip. The Kimpton's architectural style, which blends traditional Suzhou gardens and water features with modern facilities and InterContinental's excellent guest services, made my father very satisfied with this year's birthday arrangements. Moreover, we unexpectedly encountered a snow scene after many years; that snowy breakfast time and the sunny departure will become unforgettable memories for our whole family. Of course, even a perfect jade has its flaws, so I'd like to offer some suggestions: 1. **Shoe-changing bench:** It's too light and easily slides when sat upon. The lower edge of the decorative painting behind it curves outward and could easily bump the back of one's head. This safety hazard definitely needs rectification. 2. **Luggage rack & drying rack:** For such a large room, there was no luggage rack. The only place that could barely accommodate a suitcase was also the only place to hang clothes. Freshly washed clothes inevitably drip, which is very impractical. I suggest adding a traditional retractable drying line in the bathroom and a drying rack in the south-facing courtyard. 3. **Privacy of the bathing area:** An open-plan modern design is fine for a king-size bed room, but it becomes awkward for a twin-bed room without a relatively enclosed bathing space. 4. **Bathroom door opening direction:** The outward-opening design is truly unreasonable, to the point that the bathmat can only be placed to the side, or the distance between the bottom of the door and the floor needs to be larger so it doesn't affect the mat when opening and closing. 5. **Switch locations are hard to find:** We couldn't find the switches for the two bedside lamps and the bathroom curtain for two days. I suggest that the concierge could briefly introduce the room facilities when escorting guests to their rooms to enhance the check-in experience, so guests don't have to waste time figuring out how to use them. 6. **Unstable shower water temperature:** The water temperature was slightly low on the first day but very comfortable on the second. 7. **Lighting:** The room is large, but the lighting points are a bit sparse, making the overall ambiance rather dim, especially on cloudy days and at night, which makes it difficult for guests with poor eyesight to see. 8. **Air conditioning system:** The heating was insufficient; it only met standards with the help of a space heater. 9. **Housekeeping service:** They were very friendly, but I hope they come to work not only with a smile but also with their brains. Although guests generally don't fuss over minor issues like forgetting things, such a work attitude is indeed unprofessional. After all, Kimpton Bamboo Grove is a boutique hotel under InterContinental, not a boutique guesthouse. Guesthouses can emphasize personal touch, but a hotel's foundation is standardization. 10. **Breakfast:** The Western options were generally good, especially the baked goods, which were quite decent by current hotel breakfast standards. They also offered heating service, and the butter and cream were in good condition. The freshly made French toast and seasonal panettone were also a pleasant surprise, actually meeting expectations. The pudding bread and pineapple buns are commendable. The cereal with milk and fruit yogurt area felt quite high-end for a basic room priced a little over 1000, and there were also simple options of three cheeses and fresh cold cuts. The only letdown was the scrambled eggs with milk, which were really not good – overcooked and bland. As a restaurant specializing in Su-style and Huaiyang cuisine, the Chinese breakfast selection was truly disappointing, especially the steamed items; none of them were up to par. The only satisfying item was the red soup noodles with braised pork, though from the perspective of Su-style noodles, these hard noodles weren't quite springy enough. But that's a minor issue, as many people prefer a softer texture. The red bean paste tangyuan (small glutinous rice balls) offered on the second day were quite good, with a rich bean paste. It would be even better if they could improve the heat retention, similar to how coffee was delivered to the glass room with a plastic lid on the first snowy day – that showed good awareness. Overall, the restaurant staff had excellent attitudes. What impressed me most was going for breakfast on the second day; they had already arranged seating based on my father's preference. Their proactiveness and enthusiasm in service were impeccable, especially the young women in green suits. The regular Huaiyang cuisine at Bamboo Grove Restaurant was also well-executed, but innovation in traditional dishes needs to be approached with caution. The professional skills of the waitstaff should be further trained to channel their enthusiasm for their jobs effectively and make the guests' dining experience even smoother.

GGuest UserNow, I can sit here and tell you that we’re staying in an eco-friendly hotel that even though you’re inside its high glass windows gives you an outdoor vibe. I can even sit and talk about the saline pool, its state-of-the-art gym and list all the amenities; and I can even talk about the number of rooms and the fact that as we speak there’s an international summit going on here. Somehow that won’t speak about my experience here at this hotel. Elements (by Westin) Suzhou Science & Technology Town does have all of the above BUT what I love about this hotel is its Staff. I love the fact that they seem to be always be here. I somehow believe that they live onsite because they’re always around. In the morning, even before I enter the Salon I hear, “Nǐ hǎo Marsha” from the Breakfast Host, followed up by the nice lady in the Salon, smiling at me and ushering me to the coffee machine, while handing me my 2 brown sugar packs. She knows my morning habits so quickly. Not only that, because they knew Peter was missing from my breakfast table for a few mornings, they now signal to me with take away containers for Peter, to have his breakfast in the room. When we need to go anywhere the young ladies at the Front Desk (no matter which Shift) are always either asking us where we need to go so that they can call a CASH taxi to get us to our destination. One of them even came with me one day to the Bank of China’s ATM and sat in the taxi while I went in and conducted my business and accompanied me to the Campus to visit Jon-Marc. Yesterday, one of them even used her own Didi account to get us transportation back to the hotel and we reimbursed her (and walked away while she was trying to give us back our change because we knew she wouldn’t have taken the Tip as is their custom). How else could we have shown her how grateful we were for her kind gesture? Then there is Simon Jiang, the General Manager, who speaks perfect English and is always there to assist and offer suggestions of things to do and places to go. Simon was the one who actually explained to me that you can’t just walk into a pharmacy and get anything without a prescription. What I can tell you is that even though he is the GM he is always on hand assisting the staff with their work. Even though there is a clear hierarchy here, he takes off his jacket and assists in the kitchen, you can sometimes see him helping the older ladies bring out the heavy equipment (if needed) when they’re cleaning the floors, clear tables, etc. Or Alex Ju, the Assistant General Manager, who accompanied Peter and I to the hospital and stayed and spoke with the doctor and the international insurance department on our behalf (in Mandarin) to make everything a little easier for us. These people are the ones who have made my stay here memorable and I can honestly say that its because of them that I would recommend Elements by Westin in Suzhou to ANYONE who wanted a place to stay without hassle and with a host of helpful, courteous, friendly staff. It has been my pleasure having encountered such warm, friendly, delightful and gentle human beings.

SSingaporean MammalWhat we liked: Spacious and nice room design. Separate bath and toilet. Toilet has automatic flush, seat cover is also provided. Lots of snacks and amenities provided. There are amenities at the front desk such as disposable bath cover, disposable floss, mask etc you can collect from front desk. You can also ask for warm bottled water. Responsive staff, can communicate your needs via WeChat, very convenient. There are 3 lifts, very convenient. Snacks and drinks are free. Bath robes, room and bath slippers are provided too. Awesome that we stayed on the same floor as the lobby, very convenient. Location is near metro, malls, shops, and attractions, very convenient. I like that there are bath robes and different types of towels provided. What we think can be improved: We thought the big bath was indoors and wouldn’t be so cold in the winter but it has two open windows and it gets quite cold when the wind blows. It takes about 1.5h to fill up about 60-70% of the tub and you need to tap every 30 minutes or so to keep the water flowing. Quite time consuming to get it ready for a bath. Housekeeping is inconsistent, the cleaner left a towel on the floor on one of the days, left a cup unwashed, took away our straws and left the sink cover by the sink instead. They have a centralised heating system so it can get quite hot but the staff offered us a fan and we opened the balcony door for wind to enter so it was comfortable to sleep at night. There was some drilling going on in the early morning around 9-10am, it was just opposite our room so it disrupted my sleep, would be better for them to schedule it during non-sleeping hours. When we were checking out, the staff at the counter shared about them getting audited and if we don’t give a five star review, they will get a fine, I had never heard of it from other hotels and found it quite strange. She was insistent on us doing it on the spot even though we have to catch a train, that was not pleasant. We just went ahead to rush for our train. Not much to watch on the TV unfortunately.

MM293047****I was really impressed by the hotel's facilities during this stay, definitely a five-star review! The amenities in the common areas are especially thoughtful. The 24-hour gym is fully equipped with treadmills, dumbbells, and yoga mats, so I could keep up with my workouts even on a business trip. The self-service laundry room has everything you need—washers, dryers, and detergent—making it perfect for long-term guests who don't have to worry about laundry anymore. Even the lobby's lounge area is well-designed, with comfortable sofas and charging outlets, making it convenient for working or waiting for friends. A hotel with such great facilities and attention to detail is perfect for both business and leisure travel. I'll definitely choose this place again next time!

Very Good
GGuest UserI booked this hotel because I wanted to try out this style, and overall, I was quite satisfied with the experience. The only minor drawback was that the location was a bit hard to find at first; after parking the car at the entrance of Pingjiang Road, we had to walk a distance, and the ground was uneven, which made it a bit challenging with luggage. On the day of check-in, the front desk surprised us with an upgrade to a room with a bathtub, which was a really pleasant surprise. The front desk staff also had an excellent attitude, making us feel very well taken care of. Additionally, upon check-in, thoughtful touches like small cookies, fruit, yogurt, and a welcome card were provided. These little details really enhanced the experience. The only thing is that the lighting in the room was a bit dim. I'm not sure if it was because I didn't know how to operate it, or if it was designed that way. It would have been perfect if the lighting brightness could be adjusted.
