"The room offer nice view of the Chinese Garden courtyard that enhance the experience of living in perhaps ancient China traditional house. The breakfast is average, with something for everyone but nothing to shout about. The housekeeper are very diligent and ensure rooms are spotless tho dated in in room facilities like lacking smart lighting and water tap from the 80s - not so easy to operate. But the whole compound and atmosphere, daily free Taiji, hanfu experience - for one pax, in my opinion makes up for the imperfections"

"The service was absolutely amazing! When we checked in, the hotel staff helped us with our luggage, bringing it up and down. When our takeout arrived late at night, they even delivered it right to our room. They also sent us a guide to Suzhou. With the recent rain, they thoughtfully provided umbrellas and raincoats. Honestly, the service here is even better than some five-star hotels! It was so good that after check-out, they even gave us a souvenir. The hotel facilities are also very comprehensive. I highly recommend staying here!!!"

The Scholars Hotel Suzhou Pingjiangfu (Shuxiangshijia Huisuojiudian Suzhou Pingjiangfudian) is located in the heart of Suzhou old town and handy for visiting the many local attractions and classical Chinese gardens found there. An attractive hotel, it features traditional Chinese-style architecture, courtyards featuring pools of water and sculptured rock. Guestrooms boast contemporary furnishings with traditional touches and all the usual amenities required for a comfortable stay.

"Just a few minutes' walk from Pingjiang Road and the Humble Administrator's Garden, this hotel offers a quiet retreat right in the heart of Suzhou. There are supermarkets and eateries nearby, and delivery services can reach the hotel. The hotel itself boasts a beautiful Jiangnan-style garden with a water feature, and the pavilions and rockeries look absolutely stunning when lit up at night – perfect for photos! The 'Tianyi Tower' room type I stayed in this time was excellent. The central garden with its water features is incredibly beautiful; during the day, koi fish swim gracefully, and at night, the stone lanterns reflect on the water. Every photo you take here captures that classic Chinese aesthetic, echoing the Ming Dynasty Northern Half Garden's charm, with every step revealing a new picturesque view. The guest rooms feature a new Chinese elegant style. The twin room was spacious, and the magnolia embroidery on the headboard added a lovely touch of Suzhou charm. The bathroom was very well-designed with fluted glass and a circular mirror, and the wet/dry separation was excellent. They even provide Bvlgari White Tea toiletries! The cool, sophisticated white tea scent was absolutely captivating; after showering, the entire room had a subtle tea fragrance, truly showing attention to detail. My only minor gripe was that the water pressure in the shower was a bit low, but otherwise, everything was perfect. The breakfast was authentic and culturally rich. This is definitely a garden-experience hotel you must stay at when visiting Suzhou."

"I've stayed in many five-star hotels, but this is the first time I've seen an entire building designed like a cruise ship. From a distance, the pure white, streamlined 'hull' sits steadily by Jinji Lake, with large glass curtain walls shimmering in the sunlight. It has both a modern feel and the romance of setting sail. At night, the hotel lights up with rainbow-colored LED strips, and the entire 'ship' reflects on the lake, complementing the lights of the Gate of the Orient in the distance. Any photo you take looks like a masterpiece. I'm usually not very sensitive to architecture, but this 'cruise ship on the lake' really left a deep impression on me. Later, I saw on Xiaohongshu that many people specifically come here to photograph the night view, and it certainly lives up to its reputation. The room facilities are also very complete; although the hotel is quite old, everything is still in great condition. Thanks to the hotel's service! #starfishdolphin"

"I stayed at Anshe Hotel in Suzhou for two nights and had a great experience! The hotel is very well located in Suzhou’s historic center, within walking distance of Pingjiang Road, one of the city’s most charming areas, known for its canals, traditional houses, tea shops, restaurants, and lively atmosphere. It is also close to Guanqian Street and a metro station, making it easy to explore the city. The reception staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Before my arrival, I sent a message asking for recommendations on local attractions, and they responded promptly with useful suggestions. The hotel is a great choice for travelers looking for a comfortable and stylish place to stay while spending most of their time exploring Suzhou. It does not offer facilities such as a restaurant, spa, or gym, but that was not an issue for me given its excellent location. The room was comfortable, clean, and equipped with all the necessary amenities, including bathrobes and slippers. The hotel was quiet despite being close to many attractions, and the service was outstanding. I would definitely stay here again!"

"I booked this B&B for Xu Liang's Suzhou concert, and although it wasn't cheap, it was worth it. The environment and facilities were good, exactly as pictured. The location is excellent, very close to Changmen City Wall, and right next to Shantang Street for strolling (though I find Shantang Street less interesting than Pingjiang Road, but both are commercial ancient streets overall). I initially thought it would be noisy near Changmen Street, but it was actually very quiet at night, making for a comfortable sleep 💤. The owner offers personalized service through a private WeChat group, providing recommended travel routes and restaurants. The only minor downsides were that I thought the river view outside the window would be charming, but the water sometimes had a slight odor (closing the window helped), and the river nearby was under renovation, which was a bit of an eyesore. However, when sitting by the window, you can't really see that area anyway."

"The morning sun gently woke me through the curtains. I stretched, full of anticipation, knowing that a sumptuous breakfast awaited me. At my favorite hotel, breakfast isn't just the start of the day; it's a feast for both the eyes and the palate. **Breakfast: Abundant** As I entered the restaurant, my eyes were immediately drawn to the dazzling array of breakfast options. Freshly sliced fruits were neatly arranged like colorful jewels—orange carrots, green kiwis, red strawberries—all looking incredibly tempting under the soft lighting. Next to them were various breads, from soft croissants to crispy whole wheat toast, each emitting an inviting aroma. And the steaming hot fried eggs and sausages were truly mouth-watering. **Facilities:** The hotel's facilities are top-notch, from the gym to the swimming pool, every area exudes modernity and luxury. In the gym, state-of-the-art equipment is neatly arranged, providing guests with a perfect workout space. The swimming pool is even more impressive, with its clear waters shimmering under the sunlight, as if inviting every guest to jump in and enjoy a refreshing swim. **Hygiene:** The hotel's commitment to cleanliness is truly admirable. From the spotless rooms to the tidiness of the public areas, every detail is meticulously maintained. The bed linens are impeccably white, offering a home-like comfort the moment you lie down. The floors in public areas are pristine, and the mirrors in the restrooms reflect not just your image, but also the hotel's careful attention to detail. **Environment:** The elegant and serene environment is what truly left a lasting impression on me. Whether it's the soft lighting in the lobby or the thoughtfully selected artwork in the corridors, every detail feels perfectly harmonious. The view from the window is also a highlight—lush trees and the chirping of birds create an atmosphere that feels like a hidden paradise. **Service:** The professional and enthusiastic staff make every stay a memorable experience. From the welcoming smiles at the front desk to the prompt and attentive room service, every interaction makes you feel right at home. They consistently remember guests' preferences, making each service feel personalized and thoughtful. In summary, this hotel offers a rich breakfast, excellent facilities, high hygiene standards, an elegant environment, and impeccable service. Every stay is a perfect and unforgettable experience, leaving me wanting to return again and again."

"I booked the Nanyuan Hotel for my parents, and they raved about it! Not only did they receive detailed explanations, but the service was also incredibly thoughtful and attentive. The environment is elegant and refined. You can experience the charm of a Jiangnan garden without even leaving the hotel. This old-school state guesthouse definitely still lives up to its reputation. They stayed in a newly renovated building (Building 8), and there were no signs of outdated facilities; it felt more like a brand-new hotel. It truly caters to diverse preferences. Thank you, Nanyuan Hotel, for giving my parents such a unique experience!"

GGuest UserNow, I can sit here and tell you that we’re staying in an eco-friendly hotel that even though you’re inside its high glass windows gives you an outdoor vibe. I can even sit and talk about the saline pool, its state-of-the-art gym and list all the amenities; and I can even talk about the number of rooms and the fact that as we speak there’s an international summit going on here. Somehow that won’t speak about my experience here at this hotel. Elements (by Westin) Suzhou Science & Technology Town does have all of the above BUT what I love about this hotel is its Staff. I love the fact that they seem to be always be here. I somehow believe that they live onsite because they’re always around. In the morning, even before I enter the Salon I hear, “Nǐ hǎo Marsha” from the Breakfast Host, followed up by the nice lady in the Salon, smiling at me and ushering me to the coffee machine, while handing me my 2 brown sugar packs. She knows my morning habits so quickly. Not only that, because they knew Peter was missing from my breakfast table for a few mornings, they now signal to me with take away containers for Peter, to have his breakfast in the room. When we need to go anywhere the young ladies at the Front Desk (no matter which Shift) are always either asking us where we need to go so that they can call a CASH taxi to get us to our destination. One of them even came with me one day to the Bank of China’s ATM and sat in the taxi while I went in and conducted my business and accompanied me to the Campus to visit Jon-Marc. Yesterday, one of them even used her own Didi account to get us transportation back to the hotel and we reimbursed her (and walked away while she was trying to give us back our change because we knew she wouldn’t have taken the Tip as is their custom). How else could we have shown her how grateful we were for her kind gesture? Then there is Simon Jiang, the General Manager, who speaks perfect English and is always there to assist and offer suggestions of things to do and places to go. Simon was the one who actually explained to me that you can’t just walk into a pharmacy and get anything without a prescription. What I can tell you is that even though he is the GM he is always on hand assisting the staff with their work. Even though there is a clear hierarchy here, he takes off his jacket and assists in the kitchen, you can sometimes see him helping the older ladies bring out the heavy equipment (if needed) when they’re cleaning the floors, clear tables, etc. Or Alex Ju, the Assistant General Manager, who accompanied Peter and I to the hospital and stayed and spoke with the doctor and the international insurance department on our behalf (in Mandarin) to make everything a little easier for us. These people are the ones who have made my stay here memorable and I can honestly say that its because of them that I would recommend Elements by Westin in Suzhou to ANYONE who wanted a place to stay without hassle and with a host of helpful, courteous, friendly staff. It has been my pleasure having encountered such warm, friendly, delightful and gentle human beings.

GGuest UserWe stayed 1 night in this lovely hotel on a Sunday night. We managed to check in early at 1 pm and was upgraded from the 30 sqm king room we booked to a larger 41 sqm room. The room is new and used lovely bath amenities, an Australian hotel brand. Our stay came with a set dinner for 2 persons and the food was delicious. The pricing in the hotel restaurant is similar or cheaper than any other regular Chinese restaurant outside. We paid the next day at lunch time to eat Chinese food at the hotel again as the restaurant environment is nice and service is good. They have a very well equipped gym which unfortunately we did not have time to use during our 24 hour stay. Our room rate included breakfast and the selection was generous, the only negative would be the coffee beans they used are too acidic but that’s a personal preference. The location of the hotel is slightly to 1 side of the Suzhou old city but some sights like 网师园 are walking distance. Suzhou city is actually quite spread out, no one location is best for sightseeing. The great thing is didi only cost less than RMB10 per ride from this hotel so it is still very convenient. I would not bother with the Suzhou subway, it is not as convenient as the one in Shanghai. Oh yes, the cable TV have english programming which is nice for a hotel in China. I believe this Artyzen Habitat brand is managed by the Macau Shun Tak group. Will stay here again for good value and service. 这个酒店非常好,值得回来再住。五星级的设施,四星级的价钱。

EEllasanheiThe room was incredibly clean, and right downstairs was Pingjiang Road pedestrian street. It was just a short walk to Shen Wansan's braised meat shop, and then quickly to the taxi stand. I stayed on the main road by the stream, and even though there were a lot of people passing by, it was very quiet once I closed the door. The camphor trees were blooming, and a lovely fragrance wafted in when I opened the window. The cleaning lady was very friendly; since I was staying for several days and playing tennis daily, I consumed a lot of drinking water. She would stock up for me every few days. The room layout was also great and very clean, and the bedding was super comfortable. I'm quite particular about bedding, but this experience was truly fantastic. I've found my spot; next time I come to Suzhou, I'll definitely stay here again.

SStanley The Travel ManI arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner.   I didn’t and still don’t  have an eSIM that can make local  call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free.  I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands.  I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.  I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their  blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop  to Suzhou which was my next destination.  This  operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a  lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.  After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge .  If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass.  Do check with the owner for up to date information.  The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.  Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. .  There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from  the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy.  It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances. The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.  This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.  I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in  Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I  couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket.
