GGuest UserThe hotel is located in the old location of Suzhou so the surrounding areas are all full of cultural experiences. The location is ideal for visiting several gardens such as The Couple's Retreat Garden, Lion Grove Garden, and Humble Administrator's Garden (all within walking distance). However, it is a bit difficult to reach by car, as you would have to cross a small bridge and go over slightly rough roads (not ideal for multiple luggage, especially large ones).
The hotel breakfast is soup noodles, with 8 different options, and it comes with a dessert (mung bean cake, a local specialty). It does get a bit tiring and repetitive once you eat it for a long time though. But, there are plenty of other alternative options up and down the street the hotel is located in. Various food stalls, restaurants, and even bakeries are all located within walking distance. The hotel also provides a ticketed experience to a local activity known as 评弹, a type of operatic singing famous for its soothing sound and tendency to invoke sleepiness.
The hotel rooms are neat and kept clean with no odor. Throughout the hotel, a pleasing scent was smelled and it seems that one could buy the same scent from one of the various stalls open on the street. The bathroom amenities include: hair dryer, bath robes, toothbrushes, a vanity set, razor, and a comb (along with another item that slipped my mind). The toilet is automated and has a heated seat. Unfortunately, the showers are a bit difficult to use (low water pressure and difficulty in setting temperature). There are three settings for the shower: overhead, handheld, and spout. The rooms that we ordered (two single beds) included a sitting room furnished with a rocking chair and a mini fridge (drinks inside have to be paid for). The water bottles placed outside the fridge and the snacks on the table are complimentary and free of charge. The hotel also has a laundry machine that both washes and dries the clothes. Sadly, it doesn't properly dry clothes if more than 1.5 sets of clothing are placed inside. Drying racks and clothing hangers are provided for such scenarios. Laundry baskets were also provided. The hotel does not have elevators, given the antiquity of the neighborhood, so heavy luggage and suitcases have to be carried by hand up the stairs.
The hotel staff were friendly and extremely helpful with anything we needed. We had a total of 8 suitcases (5 checked and 3 carry-ons) and the staff (overnight as we checked in at around 12 AM) voluntarily led us to the room and helped carry our bags up. When we ran into a problem with the laundry machine, the staff helped clear up the misunderstanding.
Attached are photos of the lobby (picture of the table with the tea sets), the hotel room that was booked (the other room looked the same, just mirrored placement), the sitting room, and complimentary food that was provided.

GGuest UserThe location is fantastic, right inside the ancient town. You can get in for free after 5 PM. Plus, after breakfast the next day, you can tour Shen Hall and Zhang Hall for free. The value for money is just incredible! They even provide a bath kit in the room, which is a really thoughtful touch. Big thumbs up, highly recommend!

GGuest UserTraveling to Suzhou with my two kids, I specifically chose the Kimpton Bamboo Grove Suzhou for its garden ambiance, and my stay in the Deluxe Courtyard King Room was excellent overall. The hotel perfectly preserves the aesthetics of Suzhou-style landscaping, with white walls, dark tiles, and lush bamboo courtyards offering a beautiful view at every turn. My children absolutely loved wandering and playing in the gardens, fully immersing themselves in the charm of Jiangnan. The only minor drawback was the continuous rain during our stay; the sound of raindrops hitting the eaves was quite loud and slightly disturbed our sleep. However, everything else was impeccable. What truly touched me was the butler's service throughout our stay. Vickey was incredibly responsive and thoughtful, handling all our requests efficiently. After checking out, we accidentally left some personal belongings in the room. We contacted the butler, and she immediately helped us thoroughly search for them, proactively communicated shipping details, carefully packed the items, and arranged for them to be mailed to us. Her entire service was efficient and responsible. Considering the environment, facilities, and the warm service, this remains an excellent choice for a family trip to Suzhou. The minor hiccup with the rain didn't detract from our overall positive impression, and I would definitely choose this hotel again when visiting Gusu.

There's a cat café right across the street, which is a lovely touch. The breakfast spread is generous, and you can even do your laundry for free. GGuest UserAn absolutely wonderful experience! If you're coming to Suzhou, staying in a garden-style setting is a must. This hotel is a conversion of a 300-year-old house. While the building is old, all the facilities are incredibly modern, including a gym, pool, and even Dyson hair dryers. It's just a bridge away from Pingjiang Road, so you can enjoy the bustling lights on one side while having your own tranquil oasis on the other (the courtyard rooms are behind the wall you see in the video). The hotel breakfast is excellent, a semi-buffet of Chinese and Western small plates, complemented by your choice of a Chinese or Western main course. The breakfast noodles are especially delicious, served with fresh water chestnuts and shrimp. I particularly want to commend the hotel's service; it was truly warm and welcoming.
The hotel is a convenient 20-minute walk (or 5-minute bike ride) to Suzhou Museum, Humble Administrator's Garden, and Lion Grove Garden. Ou Garden is a 10-minute walk. Wangshi Garden is a bit further, about a 15-minute bike ride. I'd recommend getting a joint ticket for the first three gardens, which is valid for three days. There are also some fantastic restaurants nearby, and both Pingjiangfu and Jinhaihua are within walking distance. If your budget allows, definitely go for the Songmaoju Suite – it's a private house with its own courtyard, so you won't have to worry about footsteps from above or noise from the shared courtyard. They also have smaller standard rooms to suit various budgets. A small heads-up: one wall of the courtyard rooms faces Pingjiang Road, so it can be a bit noisy during the day, but don't worry, it's very quiet at night.
Just a minor suggestion: the super-large bathroom with a bathtub, double sinks, and three separate areas is fantastic, but there's only one hook. I'd suggest adding a few more. Also, the wardrobe could use some pant hangers.

After checking in, guests are assigned a dedicated WeChat contact, making it easy to communicate any requests or questions directly with the hotel. The customer service manager responds very quickly and genuinely cares about guests’ comfort and overall experience. Any issues, big or small, are handled efficiently, giving you a true sense that guest satisfaction is their top priority.
The hotel offers complimentary laundry and drying facilities, a gym, and a modern, stylish design throughout the property. Upon arrival, the staff helped us with our luggage, and after check-in, our bags were delivered directly to our room free of charge. Such thoughtful service made us feel very welcomed.
Breakfast mainly consists of Chinese-style dishes, with Suzhou-style noodles being a special highlight. My favorite part of the stay was the complimentary Hanfu experience! There were many beautiful outfits to choose from, and each set could be worn for up to two hours. Guests are even allowed to wear them outside for sightseeing and photos. My mother and I changed into two different Hanfu outfits during our stay, and it was a wonderful experience.
A special thank you to the customer service manager for taking such great care of us, for the fruit platter, and for upgrading us to a room with a bathtub. The room was incredibly spacious and very comfortable. Even the television could be adjusted and rotated for better viewing from different angles.
Cleanliness is clearly a priority here. The hotel provides disposable hygiene covers for both the toilet seat and bathtub, giving guests extra peace of mind. The entire property has a charming artistic atmosphere, and there is even a cozy reading corner near the laundry room where guests can relax with a book.
The location is another major advantage. There are plenty of restaurants and food options right downstairs, making the area lively and convenient. Most attractions are only about 10 minutes away by car, with Didi rides typically costing just RMB 8–10. The high-speed rail station is also within a 15-minute drive.
If you have not planned your itinerary yet, the hotel can recommend local tours and travel packages as well. They also provide parcel collection services, carefully storing your deliveries until you arrive to collect them.

FFairy DeeThe hotel is lovely. Especially the service from the staff. Most of them speak English and are always willing to help. If anything goes wrong they make sure to correct it and leave you satisfied. Rooms are quiet and spacious. The breakfast is good , has bit of variety of western and Chinese food. The highlight for me was the food truck by the patio. It sells affordable and delicious hotdogs and very yummy ice-cream. there is a small water show in the evening as well . It’s also near a mall so many food options. A little far from the subway or train station but I’ll still give it a 10/10!

The location is convenient, just 100m from the subway station, and Shantang Street is only a few minutes' walk away. The front desk service was also very thoughtful; it was Dragon Boat Festival today, and they even gave us sachets with mugwort leaves. The room facilities are quite complete, with a separate refrigerator. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay.

GGuest UserWe stayed 1 night in this lovely hotel on a Sunday night. We managed to check in early at 1 pm and was upgraded from the 30 sqm king room we booked to a larger 41 sqm room. The room is new and used lovely bath amenities, an Australian hotel brand. Our stay came with a set dinner for 2 persons and the food was delicious. The pricing in the hotel restaurant is similar or cheaper than any other regular Chinese restaurant outside. We paid the next day at lunch time to eat Chinese food at the hotel again as the restaurant environment is nice and service is good. They have a very well equipped gym which unfortunately we did not have time to use during our 24 hour stay. Our room rate included breakfast and the selection was generous, the only negative would be the coffee beans they used are too acidic but that’s a personal preference. The location of the hotel is slightly to 1 side of the Suzhou old city but some sights like 网师园 are walking distance. Suzhou city is actually quite spread out, no one location is best for sightseeing. The great thing is didi only cost less than RMB10 per ride from this hotel so it is still very convenient. I would not bother with the Suzhou subway, it is not as convenient as the one in Shanghai. Oh yes, the cable TV have english programming which is nice for a hotel in China. I believe this Artyzen Habitat brand is managed by the Macau Shun Tak group. Will stay here again for good value and service. 这个酒店非常好，值得回来再住。五星级的设施，四星级的价钱。

EEllasanheiThe room was incredibly clean, and right downstairs was Pingjiang Road pedestrian street. It was just a short walk to Shen Wansan's braised meat shop, and then quickly to the taxi stand. I stayed on the main road by the stream, and even though there were a lot of people passing by, it was very quiet once I closed the door. The camphor trees were blooming, and a lovely fragrance wafted in when I opened the window. The cleaning lady was very friendly; since I was staying for several days and playing tennis daily, I consumed a lot of drinking water. She would stock up for me every few days. The room layout was also great and very clean, and the bedding was super comfortable. I'm quite particular about bedding, but this experience was truly fantastic. I've found my spot; next time I come to Suzhou, I'll definitely stay here again.
