Hotel Indigo Suzhou Jinji Lake was absolutely amazing. A special thank you to **Raffael** and another gentleman whose name I unfortunately forgot—I’m pretty sure I read his name on his name tag! In any case, all the clerks were wonderful, friendly, and genuinely helpful. The room service was fast and very good, and I absolutely loved the breakfast. And forget the ordinary little “welcome drink” you usually get at hotels—this place takes welcome drinks seriously! 😂 The drink was so generous that I actually had to share one cup with my driver. This was my first time in Suzhou, which may sound quite ordinary, but for me, it was actually a big deal. It was the **first time in my life that I traveled somewhere completely alone**. All my partners were worried about me, and honestly, I had some hesitation too. But the wonderful atmosphere and hospitality of the hotel staff quickly made me feel comfortable and at ease. After a worldwide business trip, I made a last-minute decision to change my destination from Shanghai to Suzhou. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, especially since I didn’t find as many reviews from my foreign travelers friends about Suzhou as I expected. Somehow, though, I trusted Indigo—and I’m very glad I did. There are four things that really stood out to me: **1. The location** The location was perfect. It made exploring the area very convenient and was one of the reasons I immediately felt I had made the right decision. **2. The service** The service was sublime. Every interaction with the staff made me feel welcomed and well taken care of. Their hospitality really helped take away my hesitation about traveling alone. **3. The room** I honestly felt like I could spend the entire day in that bathtub! 😂 Everything in the room was thoughtfully prepared and very comfortable—the sofa, table, armchair, bathroom, tea corner, and even the little shelf for reading. It felt like a place where I could actually stay and enjoy the room rather than simply use it as somewhere to sleep. I even started wondering whether I should cancel my day tour and just stay at the hotel longer! **4. The food and coffee** The hotel food is definitely a must-try. I ordered room service this time, but next time I will make sure to go to the restaurant and experience it properly. And as someone who is very much a **coffee-first person**, I have to mention the coffee. I’ve been disappointed by coffee in many places during my travels, but not here. Coffee lovers can relax—you’re in good hands at this hotel. ☕️ And the **pastries and cakes are amazing too**. I honestly wasn’t expecting to be this impressed by the bakery selection. Everything was so good that I could easily make another trip just for breakfast, coffee, pastries, and cake. 😂 I will probably come back and stay here again. And honestly, it’s not only because of Suzhou itself. **Hotel Indigo Suzhou Jinji Lake made me want to come back to Suzhou.** Thank you for the sublime hospitality and for making my first solo experience in Suzhou such a wonderful one. ❤️

Upon checking in, I added our butler Anbo on WeChat. The balcony room he arranged for us was incredibly well-equipped, with a spacious and airy layout and a simple yet tasteful design. The room came with its own viewing balcony, offering a fantastic view of the old town's white walls and black tiles as soon as you opened the window. The bedding featured a Serta mattress, which provided a comfortable and restful sleep. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, a large bathtub, and came fully stocked with a hairdryer and custom toiletries – I even asked the butler for the brand name of the toiletries when checking out because they were so good. The room also had a capsule coffee machine, complimentary first-round mini-bar drinks and snacks, and a smart home control system that was easy to operate. Thoughtful details like bathrobes, slippers, and a yoga mat were also provided. The most delightful surprises were the cute and practical bento bag and toiletry bag, which were both stylish and functional, and the adorable wooden room key, making for a memorable souvenir. The room's soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a quiet and peaceful stay. All the amenities were top-notch and spotlessly clean, making our stay comfortable and relaxing. You could really feel the brand's dedication to quality in every detail. I'll definitely be back if I get the chance!

The room had so much character, you could tell the owner put a lot of thought into every detail. The service was also incredibly attentive; the owner tried their best to accommodate all our requests. Highly recommend! And since it wasn't peak season, the room rate was quite reasonable too.

Let's talk about the location first: I originally wanted to book a hotel by Jinji Lake, but I'm so glad I booked here instead – it's incredibly convenient! Pingjiang Road is right outside, making it easy to find food, entertainment, and buy souvenirs. But what I really want to rave about is the service. We drove here, and on a weekend, there were a lot of cars around the attractions. I contacted the front desk, and a staff member named Xiao Xu immediately arranged someone to help us with our luggage and provided valet parking. We went straight to the hotel, and a dedicated driver parked our car. When we wanted to go elsewhere, we chose to take the subway, and they even arranged a car to pick us up and drop us off at the high-speed rail station – all we had to do was contact the concierge. We stayed for one night, and we had to check out before 12 PM the next day. I thought the service would end after check-out, but that wasn't the case at all. In the afternoon, we bought some souvenirs and stored them at the hotel. In the evening, when we returned to our car, they even arranged a dedicated staff member to help us carry everything to the car, including all our luggage. The service was absolutely fantastic!!! If we didn't know what to eat or where to stay, the front desk would always arrange everything perfectly. The room has a Suzhou-style garden decoration, giving you the feeling of living in a traditional garden. The building itself is 300 years old, and the environment is lovely, plus it's very clean. What I want to praise the most is truly the amazing service; it made traveling with kids so convenient. Even after checking out, the service didn't diminish, which I'm really grateful for!

Nanyuan Hotel My trip to Suzhou and my stay at Nanyuan Hotel had a bit of a bumpy start. I had originally booked a package through Ctrip for the Xiangqu Tower at Nanyuan Hotel, but something unexpected came up at home. I submitted an explanation through the backend and called the hotel. They immediately helped me cancel the reservation and even told me that I could rebook anytime before the end of the year if there was availability, welcoming me to visit Suzhou. I was so grateful! Even though I couldn't go then, it warmed my heart. Plans often change, and the situation at home quickly improved, allowing me to travel as originally planned. I hurried to rebook, and this time I chose the newly renovated building at Nanyuan Hotel, the Yingjie Tower. After checking in, I knew I made the right choice – it was fantastic. Everything was perfect. Location: I'm not sure if it's considered convenient. It's a bit of a distance from the subway station. However, the hotel has a bus stop right outside (Wangshi Garden Bus Stop), with buses that go directly to the museum. It's also very close to Wangshi Garden; you just cross the road from the hotel and walk about 50 meters. For dining, the hotel has its own restaurant, and there's also the Black Pearl restaurant, Kimpton Bamboo Grove Restaurant at Kimpton Bamboo Grove Hotel, within walking distance. I went to this restaurant twice during my stay, haha. Ambiance: It's a garden-style hotel, with the buildings nestled within the garden. Currently, there are three buildings available for guests: Xiangqu Tower, Yuejie Tower, and the Lixi Pavilion, which was Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek's villa (I plan to book this one next time). I booked a king-size room this time, located on the first floor with a garden. Although the weather was a bit hot and I didn't go out, the view from inside the room was quite nice. Biggest advantage: Quiet, extremely quiet. I'm a very light sleeper, and I slept exceptionally well during my days at Nanyuan. The air conditioning was on at night, but there was no noise, which was truly excellent. This is the main reason why I will always choose Nanyuan for future visits to Suzhou! Secondly: The room was well-equipped: a small steam iron (this iron was quite good, with strong steam and quick ironing), and the hairdryer seemed to be a Laifen (comparable to Dyson in terms of airflow, powerful enough). There were also various types of hangers, which was very thoughtful. Needless to say, daily necessities like a refrigerator and kettle were also provided. The toiletries were also brand-name, so I won't need to bring my own shampoo next time. Breakfast: The breakfast was quite good. Regardless of which room type you stay in, breakfast is served together on the first floor of the building. The noodles are a must-try; each serving is a small bowl, not too much. You can customize it with various toppings. I had a bowl every day, adding braised pork, seaweed, and a few drops of chili oil, haha. A beautiful day starts with this bowl of noodles. Also, the fruit at this hotel is excellent. Kudos to the staff in the catering department who select the fruit. The honeydew melon was soft and sweet, and the cantaloupe and watermelon were both incredibly sweet and fresh. There were also desserts, sushi, and douhua (tofu pudding), which looked good but I didn't try them so I can't comment. There were also several types of yogurt and Yakult at the restaurant entrance, which were very popular. Service: The service was very professional. The hotel also offers a simple guided tour of its internal attractions for guests, with the latest tour starting at 4:30 PM daily. I booked the 4:00 PM tour, and when I gathered in the lobby, I saw that the staff member was a young lady. I casually took a picture, and her name was Song Shanshan. There were four guests in our group at that time. Ms. Song walked us through, explaining about Chiang's former residence, the 571 underground project, and He Yanong's former residence, Mingxuan, which is also the location of the first Garden Night Banquet of Wuzhong style. Her explanation was overall very good, and I'd like to give her a thumbs up too. After the tour, I asked if the hotel made its own mooncakes and was recommended to buy some at the front desk. I bought a box of Nanyuan Hotel's mooncakes, which are Southern-style with several flavors. They tasted good and were very good value for money. The only minor drawback: the bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan. But that's a small issue compared to the many advantages; it's negligible, haha. Anyway, I'm definitely staying here every time I visit Suzhou from now on.

📍Hotel Indigo Suzhou Grand Canal This hotel offered surprisingly good value for money, and the overall experience was excellent. The only downside was the convoluted guest flow. If you're driving, you have to park in the B3 garage, walk through the mall to the first floor, then take an elevator to the 46th-floor lobby, and then switch to another elevator to reach your room. This can be quite cumbersome if you have luggage. However, the advantages are significant. The hotel is located right above Longfor Tianjie, so you can just go downstairs for dining and shopping – it's a one-stop shop for entertainment and convenience. The 46th-floor lobby offers expansive views, and the guest rooms are of high quality with a strong sense of design. It's a great choice for travelers visiting Suzhou. For those driving, just make sure to factor in enough time for transfers. The experience would be much better without heavy luggage.

This resort is a bit old, and the facilities do show their age. However, you can tell it was built to a high standard, with spacious rooms, a separate wet and dry area, double sinks, and a large bathroom with an automatic toilet. The shower stall is an add-on next to the bathtub, and the water pressure is excellent, making for a very comfortable shower. It has all the amenities of a standard hotel, and since it focuses on families, all table corners are child-proofed. Kids' slippers, bathrobes, toothbrushes, and footstools are all provided. The courtyard has a carousel, go-karts, a playground, a mini-train, and even small animals – kids are sure to have a great time. The front desk called before, during, and after check-in to ask about our needs and our stay, promptly resolving any issues. For that, I'm happy to give five stars. Breakfast offered a good variety, though the pastries and baked goods were a bit subpar. There's also a late-night congee served at 8 PM. You can really see the effort put in by the hotel management.

The ultimate one-stop destination for families with kids! No need to venture out, both adults and children had a blast! The hotel facilities are truly comprehensive, featuring its own children's water park. There's a shallow pool and small slides for younger kids, the water quality is clean, and the lifeguards are always on duty, which was very reassuring. My child played there happily all afternoon and didn't want to leave. After playing, we went straight to the hot spring area to relax. With dozens of different wellness pools and mild water temperatures, soaking there was incredibly soothing and perfectly relieved the fatigue from playing in the water. Besides the water park and hot springs, there's also an indoor play area, parent-child DIY crafts, and a children's restaurant – everything you need for eating, staying, and playing is available right within the hotel, truly offering a one-stop vacation experience. The room was clean and spacious, and they thoughtfully provided amenities like children's toothbrushes and small slippers. The staff were friendly, and check-in was efficient. We didn't have to worry about a thing regarding our itinerary. We'll definitely come back for our next family vacation with the kids.

I was upgraded to a room on the 2nd floor with a beautiful view. What really blew me away was the hotel lobby – the design aesthetics are just incredible, absolutely stunning! The whole hotel is filled with lush greenery, giving you a real vacation vibe. The breakfast was Western style, not really to my taste, but the environment was definitely amazing. The food near the hotel, especially the chicken wontons, was surprisingly good – I'll definitely be having them again next time! The service was also great, and they even have a shuttle bus.

The room is very clean and the configuration is very high-end. It doesn't look like a B&B in the countryside. The designer's positioning is worthy of the name; The boss is very nice. If you need anything in the room, you can just ask him. You can also ask for advice on travel itineraries and buying souvenirs. Finally, a vacation in Xishan is really good and relaxing. But I didn’t see the sunset this time. It's a bit of a pity. . .
