Hotels in New Urban District/ Hanshan Temple, Suzhou

During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, I brought my family to stay at Hotel Nikko Suzhou. The hotel is conveniently located in the Huqiu district, right next to Shizishan Metro Station, making transportation easy. There are plenty of dining options nearby. Although the hotel shows its age a bit with slightly dated decor and facilities, it's well-maintained, upholding the standards of a seasoned star-rated hotel. We stayed in an Executive King Room. While the room wasn't large, the view from the 27th floor was excellent, especially the mesmerizing night view. The room has a distinct Japanese style, with efficient use of space throughout, making it convenient and clean. The complimentary afternoon tea and executive lounge benefits were nothing spectacular, but given the reasonable price of the room, we couldn't ask for more. As it's a Nikko hotel, the breakfast is a blend of Chinese and Japanese cuisine. The Chinese-style Suzhou noodles and Japanese curry and rich soups were particularly noteworthy. Finally, regarding the service, the hotel staff were attentive and thoughtful. Jiajia at the front desk was especially enthusiastic and professional during both check-in and check-out. Five-star rating for her!

The hotel facilities are complete and clean, and the service is excellent. What's more, the room is very quiet as it faces the residential area. It's also convenient to find places to eat around the hotel. I especially want to commend Manager Stephen Chow; his service was exceptional. He helped us with our luggage and even found a parking space for us. Many thanks, definitely a five-star review!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A perfect stay! Service is truly the soul of Shangri-La Suzhou. This time I stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel, Suzhou, located at 168 Tayuan Road, and the overall experience was impeccable – a perfect score of 5 for all aspects. The foundation of a long-standing five-star hotel is still evident: guest rooms are located above the 28th floor, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Lion Hill and the city skyline. The bedding was just the right firmness, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a restful sleep until morning. The breakfast buffet offered authentic Suzhou-style braised pork noodles, xiao long bao, and tangyuan, alongside freshly made Western pastries – all of high quality. The pool, gym, and Horizon Club Lounge were all well-equipped. The location is also fantastic, right next to the Shishan Road business district and the subway, making it very convenient for dining and shopping. However, what truly made me want to write this glowing review were the people. Front desk staff Ella Cui – I arrived during the afternoon check-in rush, and Ella maintained a cheerful smile throughout. She processed my information, swiped pre-authorization, and explained the room type seamlessly, without any robotic procedural feel. She proactively offered explanations about the views from two high-floor city-view rooms and reminded me of the breakfast times. A front desk staff member who 'remembers your name and anticipates your needs' is a rarity even in five-star hotels. Guest Relations Lisa – All my minor requests after arrival were followed up and resolved by her. Her responses were swift, and she was never intrusive. The hardware provides the elegance, but Ella and Lisa provided the warmth. Next time I'm in Suzhou New District, this will be my default choice, and I'll definitely recommend it to friends.

The hotel truly delivered on its promise, excelling in every aspect. I arrived around 3 PM, and they mentioned a slight wait for my room. Before I could even say anything, they upgraded my room, and anticipating a potential delay, they also offered drink vouchers and snacks. This truly showed their customer-centric approach. The location is absolutely unbeatable – the subway is right in the basement, the canal view is stunning, and it's even within walking distance to the stadium. Plus, the drinks at the ground-floor bar are incredibly delicious. I can't wait to visit again!

This hotel has the highest concentration of 'xiaojiejie' (young women, often with a hint of being escorts) I've ever seen. If you sit in the lobby bar for about half an hour starting at 2 PM, you can pretty much figure out what kind of 'xiaojiejie' the 'big brothers' from Suzhou are taking out these days. And if you go around 1 AM, you'll get an even clearer picture. The next day, when I went swimming, there were a bunch of 'xiaojiejie' with great figures, scantily clad, posing for photos, making it impossible to actually photograph the pool. Right next door is Huaihai Street. I went there at 11 PM to eat soba noodles and saw a lot of 'love' being delivered to people's doors. There were also some 'xiaojiejie' walking arm-in-arm with Japanese older men back to the hotel. And some who were drunk, clinging to men and shouting loudly. When I went downstairs in the middle of the night, I saw a giant cockroach in the mist and felt a bit helpless, worrying it would suddenly turn into a defense tower and shoot a fireball or lightning, destroying the Indigo. Downstairs, there's also a now-rare Jiyue car. I vaguely remember that the Jiyue exhibition area used to be right downstairs from the Indigo, in the mall. I suggest the hotel cancels the welcome fruit service. Most people generally find it inconvenient, especially in this kind of hotel. The hotel offered me many courtesies beyond normal expectations to compensate for some inconveniences I experienced, but I declined them all. So, I'll just give it a normal rating. The facilities are a bit old, but breakfast is good. The perfume in the elevator is too strong, but everything else is pretty good.

This hotel offers a comfortable stay with its minimalist yet sophisticated design. The public areas are beautifully decorated, and the rooms are meticulously cleaned, with no dust in sight. The amenities provided are of excellent quality. Downstairs, you'll find everything you need for dining and entertainment. It's just a few minutes' walk to the subway, making it incredibly convenient to access all the major attractions nearby.

I was thinking, for a few hundred bucks, what more could I ask for? Turns out, this place has everything, easily comparable to hotels costing 1000 a night! The family room was super comfortable. The picture books, building blocks, and stationery box provided in the room were all a hit with the kids. Breakfast was extensive, there's a pool, a kids' pool, and an enormous children's play area with a dedicated trampoline zone – it was so much fun, seriously! The only thing that needs improvement is the air conditioning; it felt a bit faulty and wasn't cooling, making the room a little warm. The service was excellent, and they even gave us a small gift when we left. This is absolutely the best value-for-money family hotel out there! We'll definitely be back!

I stayed in the Tea Rhythm Twin Room. The hotel has a quiet environment and three floors. It is generally good. The room layout is relatively compact. The hygiene services are good in all aspects. The only thing is that the air conditioner in the room is noisy. I can only turn it off at night before going to bed. The breakfast is also very good. There are many kinds. I also had dinner in the evening. The dishes tasted very good. I will consider staying again. The hotel also undertakes wedding banquets. I looked at the menu

The off-season prices were great, and the two young ladies at the front desk were super cute and provided excellent service. The freshly ground Americano in the lobby was fragrant and delicious, with a slightly bitter and tart flavor that lingered pleasantly after sipping. Parking was convenient. The only downside was its proximity to the elevated highway, so if you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs. Getting to Pingjiang Road by taxi was a short distance. The hotel provided bath bags, and taking a bath was incredibly relaxing!
