"The overall service was excellent, everyone was friendly and smiling. For our anniversary, they decorated the room and sent us a small cake and cookies. The infinity pool was beautiful and great for photos, and they even offered us mini popsicles. The kids' club was large, making it a perfect place for families with children. We originally booked a 'Yiyuan' King Room, but the front desk said they upgraded us to a courtyard room. This room, however, was on the ground floor with a courtyard, which was useless since it rained all day Sunday. Moreover, it was located at the very end of the East Wing, making it extremely inconvenient to get around with a child. We had to walk so much extra. The room was on the first floor, while the front desk was on the second, and we had to take a connecting elevator. The actual 'Yiyuan' rooms are usually on the second floor or higher. So, this felt more like a downgrade disguised as an upgrade, and we were quite uncomfortable. The duvet cover and duvet were separate, the cover had no zipper or ties, and the edges were torn. I strongly advise against staying in the ground-floor rooms with courtyards. They are dark and gloomy, and on rainy days, a room with a balcony upstairs would be much airier. Since we were traveling with a baby and spent most of our time at the hotel, every time we had to go out, it took forever, and our child got tired. Therefore, I felt the room experience this time was very poor – it was remote, and the lighting was bad."

"My stay at Park Hyatt Suzhou far exceeded my expectations. The overall design, with its elegant and grand Suzhou garden-style courtyard, was impressive, and the guest room was very comfortable with an excellent view of Jinji Lake. A special thanks to our butlers, Tracy and Rain, who upgraded us to a lake-view room. They were incredibly warm, attentive, and responsive throughout our stay, taking care of all our needs with a perfect balance of thoughtfulness and discretion. We truly felt at home. The dining was equally delightful. Xizhou Xuan offered exquisite and authentic dishes, and the breakfast quality was consistently high, with the Suzhou-style offerings being particularly outstanding – a truly satisfying culinary experience. The combination of attentive butler service and delicious food made this trip to Suzhou exceptionally memorable."

"Banyan Tree, as always, is wonderfully secluded and comfortable! The butler, a lovely lady, upgraded our room again. And we even ran into Alice Xiaoxiao, the butler who assisted us during our stay last year – it was great to see her again! She proactively reached out before check-in to ask about our needs and was incredibly responsive to all our requests. The concierge service upon arrival was also very thoughtful. The courtyards, lush greenery, and water features are beautifully designed, offering a new picturesque view at every turn. The views from our room were truly refreshing and invigorating! Kids' toiletries were fully stocked, and the complimentary soft drinks were of good quality, not just an afterthought. The hotel also offers free activities like Baduanjin (a traditional Chinese exercise), cocktail making, and night runs! Overall, a very satisfying stay! Excellent value for money! **Dining:** The hotel's Baiyun Restaurant is also fantastic. Even though dinner was a set menu from a group deal, every dish was surprisingly delicious! It's a perfect alternative to the Rongsheng Restaurant next door, where you often have to queue for two hours if you don't want to wait. They've changed breakfast to a mostly buffet style, which can sometimes mean colder food with a less-than-ideal texture. However, they still offer à la carte service upon request, which is great! And the champagne was delicious! **Activities:** This trip, we came specifically to climb Lion Mountain, and we successfully reached the summit – the entire scenic area is very thoughtfully developed! Safety measures are also very well implemented! Whether looking out from the mountain or gazing at it from the hotel, it's a view within a view – perfect for photos! There are several well-designed buildings nearby, like museums and science centers, all within walking distance. The hotel key card provides direct access to Lion Mountain Park, and in the evening, they even offer transportation for a golf course tour. The park has added more activities since last year, including a mini-train, cycling, and boating. This year, we even tried kayaking – so much fun! We'll definitely be back next year! Our sincere thanks to Alice Xiaoxiao, our butler, who made our first stay enjoyable and our second even more comfortable. Also, a big shout-out to the handsome concierge who helped with our luggage! The auntie providing turn-down service gave our child small gifts and drinks, and the three lovely ladies at the bar patiently taught us cocktail making… All the hotel staff made us feel so warm and welcome. Looking forward to our next stay!"

"Hotels these days always talk about 'cost reduction and efficiency improvement,' but there's a prerequisite for that: it shouldn't come at the expense of service quality. Otherwise, it's just cutting corners. This hotel definitely gets full marks for its environment. The air in the mountains is fresh, and it's very quiet, with birds chirping and insects buzzing – very peaceful. However, the service staff are all temporary hires, so the service is a bit subpar. Let me give you a few examples: When I checked in, I was told there was a shuttle bus. At first, I didn't take it and walked up the stairs myself. After walking several flights, I felt quite tired. I saw a cleaning lady and asked her where to catch the shuttle. She immediately replied, 'Don't ask me, I'm just here temporarily to clean, I don't know anything.' I was sleeping soundly in the morning but was woken up by sunlight. I saw the sun streaming in from the bathroom window, and the bathroom door was transparent and didn't block the light. I noticed a roller blind on the bathroom window, an electric one, but couldn't find the switch. So I called the front desk to ask. The front desk staff said she didn't know where the switch was either and would have to send an engineering staff member to my room to find it. Eventually, I found the switch on an recessed wall above the bathroom vanity, but by the time I found it, my sleepiness was gone. Since I was awake, I went down for breakfast. There was a host stand at the restaurant entrance, but no one was there. I waited for a while, still no one, so I just went in. A lady in a black suit in the restaurant saw me and asked for my room number. I thought, 'You should at least seat me first before asking for my room number!' She casually pointed and said, 'Just find a seat yourself, any empty spot is fine.' Then she scurried off, no longer caring about the room number. After breakfast, I thought about visiting the nearby Yuyang Mountain Scenic Area. I asked the hotel front desk, and the staff member told me I could take the cable car to the top of the mountain for the views. She confidently told me the cable car station was right at the main entrance of the scenic area. In reality, the cable car station and the main entrance are completely different locations. The cable car entrance is about two or three hundred meters from the hotel, while the scenic area's main entrance is six or seven hundred meters away. If you want to take the cable car up the mountain, don't do what I did and go all the way to the main entrance before backtracking to the cable car entrance. Even a few hundred meters in hot weather can make you sweat profusely. It felt like the hotel staff themselves had never actually been there. I arrived at the hotel around 1 PM, and I wanted to ask if there was a room available for check-in. If not, I'd go out for lunch first. As soon as my car pulled into a parking spot in front of the hotel lobby, a man in a white shirt came over to shoo me away, saying 'Don't park here, don't park here!' in a very aggressive tone. I said I was just asking if there was a room available. He said, 'No room, no room, no room now,' very impatiently. I retorted, 'Oh, so you know everything, do you?' He rolled his eyes at me and walked away. That was my first impression of the 'white shirt' guy. Later, I saw him delivering fruit to rooms, delivering meals to rooms, he was everywhere. In the morning, I was sitting in the hotel lobby waiting for someone to go to breakfast together, and he came over and said, 'Go sit over there, I'm going to turn on the air conditioning, I need to close the doors and windows first,' his tone leaving no room for argument. When I was checking out, I saw 'white shirt' in the lobby helping guests with their luggage, seeming to enjoy himself immensely. I was so curious about what kind of job this 'white shirt' person actually had. Finally, I found out he was the hotel general manager. Well, that certainly fits the bill, a 'Labor Day' experience of life, I suppose. Finally, I'd like to tell the hotel that the bath towels and face towels in the rooms need replacing. They're supposed to be pristine white and soft, but they've become stiff and stained black. The chair covers on the balcony also need to be replaced; they're all torn. All things considered, for a price range of around a thousand yuan, this resort hotel is still worth staying at."

"Facilities: I came here specifically for the boat access and private hot springs. The room with the boat dock faces east, which was perfect for soaking in the hot springs while watching the sunrise! The room was incredibly cozy, the bedding was extremely comfortable, and the mini-bar had a wide variety of items. Since it was my birthday, I was upgraded to a suite, and the Japanese-style tatami tea room was very interesting! Activities: The entire hotel was filled with a pleasant fragrance. There were plenty of indoor and outdoor activities to enjoy, like lighting incense, making tea, and reading – perfect for a relaxing getaway. I'd heard great things about the spa, and it definitely lived up to the hype. Next to the spa, there's a collaborating gallery featuring two intriguing exhibitions, and the souvenirs were also quite unique. Plus, the weather was beautiful during my stay, and I really enjoyed borrowing bikes from Yueliu to cycle around! Service: Absolutely exceeded expectations! The front desk butler was very responsive. As it was my birthday, they not only set up a lovely decoration and provided a delicious cake, but several staff members wished me a happy birthday when I encountered them, which was a wonderful surprise! Tina from the spa area was very warm and straightforward, giving me lots of great recommendations, and we had a fantastic chat. Dining: Dining is probably this hotel's weak point. Breakfast was mediocre. The Baiyun restaurant wasn't open, so I went to Yueliu, and while the food tasted pretty good, it was low value for money – definitely high-end 'agritourism' style. However, the ambiance of both restaurants was superb, and on a sunny day, eating breakfast outdoors while petting cats was incredibly pleasant!"

"Had a wonderful 3-day, 2-night trip with my good friends and their families. Regarding service: Our butler, Cindy, was always online and ready to help. The engineering uncle braved the heavy rain to set up the projector for the kids and greeted us warmly the next day. Xu Chenhao from the activities department was a warm and engaging young man, teaching us kayaking techniques, sharing the resort's development story, and taking beautiful photos for every family. The children's club staff were also very welcoming, inviting us to try out various fitness equipment. Regarding cleanliness: Housekeeping was prompt and thorough. Regarding dining: The Chinese restaurant was quite good. However, breakfast was a bit mediocre with limited options. By 10 AM, they almost stopped restocking food. Suggestion: Upon check-in, we were offered an upgrade from 2 rooms to 3 rooms, but then told the third room was locked, effectively making it no upgrade at all. They only reluctantly opened it after we complained. I suggest training the front desk staff on what a room upgrade actually means. It might have been better not to offer an upgrade at all if they weren't clear on it."

"This is an incredibly understated resort. With direct access to Taihu Lake, guests can stroll along its shores right from the property and immerse themselves in the aesthetics of classical Suzhou gardens. Upon check-in, the staff were exceptionally warm and thoughtful, passionately introducing us to every facet of the hotel's design, from its architecture to its lush landscaping. To ensure utmost privacy, each courtyard was exclusively reserved for one guest party. In the evening, anticipating the courtyard might feel too quiet, they thoughtfully illuminated the adjacent room. A special thank you to Ms. Gao Xiaoxue and her team, who provided attentive and enthusiastic follow-up from the initial booking to check-in. I'm absolutely thrilled to witness such high-quality domestic resorts emerging in China over the past few years. From the garden vistas to the room's exquisite style, this hotel truly outshines properties like Amanyangyun and Amanfayun! I sincerely hope to return with my entire family on our next trip, should the perfect opportunity arise!"

"Upon arriving at the hotel lobby, a greeter immediately opened the door and helped with our luggage. There were many people sitting on the sofas waiting to check in. The front desk staff, seeing that I had a baby with me, thoughtfully upgraded our room, allowing for an instant check-in without any wait. The room was clean, fresh, and odorless. I called the front desk several times during my stay to ask for items, and they were always delivered quickly. The breakfast was abundant and fresh. If you arrive early, you can get a table by the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a koi pond, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful scenery while dining. There were several complimentary services, such as a Qipao/Hanfu photoshoot experience. With the room card, you could enter and exit Panmen (Pan Gate) an unlimited number of times. Inside, there are koi and swans that you can feed, which the children enjoyed. Overall, it was a great experience, and I will definitely be returning."

"Five stars are good, but I'd give it six! First, let's talk about the location: Suzhou's old town is absolutely packed on weekends, so a good hotel location is crucial for an enjoyable trip. Exit the hotel and turn right, and Pingjiang Road is just 50 meters away. Go another kilometer, and you'll find the Lotus Market at Baitai Park and the Flower and Bird Market on Pishi Street—all showcasing the best of old Suzhou. After parking at the hotel, the best way to explore is to rent an electric scooter. Feel the breeze through your hair under the trees. Within a 5-kilometer radius, you can reach almost 90% of old Suzhou's attractions. It's pure bliss! Room facilities: If there's one minor drawback, it's that the hardware is a bit older. But then again, with such a great location and this level of service, it wouldn't be this price if it hadn't been open for a while. So, in a way, it's just the other side of the coin. Of course, the hotel has made many efforts, such as installing Washlets later on, and the linens are well-maintained. What's particularly amazing are the hotel's teas—they're truly excellent. Breakfast: Absolutely a bonus! You must try the Cifan Tuan (sticky rice rolls), sweet with preserved mustard greens—the texture is simply first-rate. The young man making the rice rolls was also very kind, chatting as if with family. It seems they also have a seasonal dish recommendation among the stir-fries. On the day I visited, it was edamame with water bamboo, which was incredibly tender. Finally, the overall service: The staff at the front desk, both the young men and women, were excellent. It was hot, and I appreciate their thoughtful service."

"The VOCO Hotel on Guanqian Street, a new hotel opened in 2026, is super convenient, located within a 5-minute walk from Metro Line 4. Although the hotel is situated in the popular and bustling pedestrian street area, it's on a side road, so it's not noisy at night. Both the hotel and the rooms are very new. It has 7 floors in total, with breakfast served on the second floor. Given the high number of tourists in Suzhou, especially with the heavy foot traffic on pedestrian streets making it hard to get a taxi, it's really convenient to walk back to the hotel after an evening stroll. The staff are all very friendly and check-in was very quick!"
