Railway Cottage is the perfect location for a holiday or short break on the Dorset coast. We are ideally situated in Swanage, less than 5 minute's level walk from the beach, bus service, the famous Swanage steam railway and the town centre. 5.5 miles from Corfe Castle. We are a room only guest house and do not supply breakfast - our prices reflect this. All rooms are ensuite with fridge and tea & coffee facilities. There is a key system which allows you to check in and out at your own convenience (1pm check in/10.30am check out) You will receive a text in the week prior to your stay with all the check in information. Dogs are more than welcome. Our rooms are on a self catering basis so we will not enter your room over your stay. We provide washing up liquid/tea towels etc so that you can refresh your tea cups if needed. We no longer have parking. Payment will be taken from your card details we have over your stay - no need to pay us directly.Show More

Railway Cottage is a delightful , peaceful spot , very handy for the town , station , beach , massive car park in front of property , rooms are delightfully and simply furnished , tea and coffee making facilities are provided , spotlessly clean ..and when I stayed rooms were warm !...its superb if you can walk easily in to town to find a excellent choice of breakfast venues , and if your activity requires a early start just perfect , I would thoroughly recommend this establishment,

What a lovely stay, we planned to stay in our campervan however our heater had broken so we booked at the railway cottage at the last minute. The host was so welcoming, she promptly arranged the room, which was totally spotless and clean, bright and modern within en suite, a very quiet night, and comfortablw bed, tea and coffee for the morning plus a biscoff. Ery conveiniently located near the town centre. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed for one night due to a family gathering. Clean, tidy and for value for money. Spot on. If you are looking for clean, tidy place to stay and on a budget this place is perfect for a night or two. Places nearby to grab breakfast. Each room had en-suite and a fridge.

Brilliant stay for one night. Great value, had everything we needed. Warm, clean and comfortable. Easy parking opposite for £1 for 24 hours. Walking distance to sea front, steam railway and town centre. We loved this place and will return.

We both found this place a great place to stay, we have 3 dogs, all were welcome. The room was clean tidy and well presented fully functional with no problems at all. A welcoming place to stay in the heart of swanage and highly recommended. For a weekend break out of season as our visit was, it works perfectly.

Room indeed compact but well laid out and more than adequate for both of us and Dave the whippet. Clean and tidy, quiet and convenient. Will happily use again. Close to town and as mentioned huge car park opposite.

Pretty central, clean & tidy place. Extra tea and coffee available (without the need to pester anyone for it). It was quieter and cleaner than I expected - having read some of the previous reviews. It suited our needs and I would definitely recommend this place for a short break.

Such a lovely place and the owners are fantastic people, 100% recommend the Railway Cottage for a great getaway to anyone, Swanage is picturesque and has been a favourite retreat of my family’s for over 30 years. Perfect for families, very clean and great location!
