Beautiful, cosy and warm family hotel. Food was superb, especially breakfast which was four course meal! Kids loved swimming pool and fish and my older son said he had best sleep ever (and he doesn’t sleep much). Staff were incredibly friendly and professional going out of their way to help my husband who had upset stomach. Facilities were great and we really enjoyed our stay, we only wish we stayed longer. Oh, and complimentary car wash was so needed! Coming back from game reserve our car was very dirty and it was spotless by the time we got up. Thank you all!

Dieses Hotel hat Charme! Tolle Zimmer, sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Abendessen und Frühstück waren ausgezeichnet, das Menu asiatisch angehaucht, was uns sehr zugesagt hat. Die einzelnen Gänge waren aussergewöhnlich und toll kombiniert. Einfach lecker!

We stayed one night to break a journey and wish we could have stayed longer. The family room was amazing. The kids were so excited by bunk beds and also by the little kids robes and sink in the bathroom! It was an amazing house, with beautiful space, and lovely guys working there. We were devastated the restaurant was shut the night we stayed and, once we had breakfast, were even more sad to have missed dinner. Breakfast was the best I’ve ever had, 3 courses and each one just incredible. Even the “full English” was something we’d never tried before, just amazing, and the chef was absolutely lovely. Couldn’t recommend highly enough

One of the best places we have stayed at in Africa, food was simply sensational, great room, wonderful staff. Lovely host (Alison). Altogether splendid. The gardens are well maintained and we even got a complimentary car wash prior to leaving. Highly recommended.

Sadly only had one night here en route, wonderful, quirky, charming hotel. Wonderful warm welcome from the staff, really well looked after, the restaurant is fabulous, superb quality meal and the breakfast was amazing. They even washed our car, highly recommend

Unser Aufenthalt im 5-Sterne-Hotel Schoone Oordt in Swellendam war absolut außergewöhnlich und übertraf unsere Erwartungen. Drei Nächte in diesem stilvollen Juwel haben uns gezeigt, wie Gastfreundschaft auf höchstem Niveau aussieht. Die Gastgeberin empfing uns mit einer Herzlichkeit, die sofort eine Atmosphäre des Willkommens und Wohlfühlens schuf. Das Hotel selbst besticht durch einen wunderschön gepflegten Garten, einen großzügigen Pool und einen schönen Koi-Teich - der perfekte Ort, um zu entspannen und die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Ein besonderes Highlight war das fantastische, täglich wechselnde Drei-Gänge-Frühstück. Jeder Bissen war ein Genuss und spiegelte die Liebe zum Detail und die hohe Qualität wider, die die Küche des Schoone Oordt auszeichnet. Auch das Abendessen auf Fine-Dining-Niveau war ein kulinarisches Erlebnis, das in Erinnerung bleiben wird. Das Personal verdient eine besondere Erwähnung für seine Freundlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit. Jede Anfrage wurde mit einem Lächeln beantwortet und der Service - einschließlich einer Autowäsche vor unserer Abreise - war erstklassig. Darüber hinaus ist Swellendam ein idealer Ausgangspunkt, um die Gardenroute zu erkunden. Die Stadt bietet viele ausgezeichnete Restaurants und liegt in der Nähe von Attraktionen wie dem De Hoop Naturreservat und dem Robertson Valley, das für seine hervorragenden Weingüter bekannt ist, wie zum Beispiel das Weingut De Wetshof, das für seine Chardonnays weltberühmt ist. One night stay, lovely room and lovely food . Staff were all excellent and i met the owner on leaving and it was fantastic to see her passion for her beautiful place. Only negative feedback was of all the 9 places we stayed in on this holiday it was the only place where the pool was unloved and uninviting, which was a real shame as it could look amazing.

Blown away by our experience at Schoone Oordt!! The staff were all lovely and went so above and beyond - warm scones/cappuccinos on arrival, returned from dinner to a fire in our fireplace, washed our car as we ate breakfast. Do not miss meals here, the food was all INCREDIBLE. We can’t stop talking about our stay here!

The hotel is in beautiful setting and is very welcoming . We enjoyed a one night stay and all the meals were of a very high standard . Our car was even washed for us before leaving . The hotel is only a few minutes walk from lots of bars and restaurants ! Worth a visit if you’re on the garden route
