However, hotel is a little bit old and old style if you don’t mind, you can hear the air con, pipes or the sound of the next room at night, so if you are “lucky” to get one of these rooms, try to ask for another one.
Be aware not to open the window, there’s mosquitoes to annoy you whole night. Remember to get mosquito repellent at the convenient store nearby.
Breakfast include vegetarian selection with buffet style, eat all you want.

I booked this hotel as it stated that there are parking lots. When I came to check in, staff only said that there were not available and directed me to the near by parking where I have to pay fee.
Staff who are at the counter check in were not so friendly, unlike the staff who are at the breakfast entrance and in front of the elevator area, they were very helpful and friendly.
The room was clean and we got the view where we can see the main train station.

Near the train and bus station which is convenient to travel to tourist places like Sun moon lake. But it is a distance away from the famous Feng chia night market. It will take about 30mins bus ride and the bus frequency is low ( waiting time up to 30mins). The room is small for 2 pax but for the price I would say it is reasonable.

Location: It located infront local train Taichung not hsr taichung. But it is very easy to access using local train from hsr taichung/Xinwuri to local train taichung. A lot of convenience store nearby and two vegetarian shops located near the hotel the other one just at a corridor beside the hotel.
Amenities: give some tea and coffee. Water heater provides. Hair dryer provided. Towels provided. Some self service can take from counter one time use shaver, toothbrush and toothpaste, indoor shoes. Self service laundry near the lobby (~60 ********* yuan)

Clean is small but super clean and comfy. Breakfast choice was good and changed every day throughout the entire 3 days of stay. The additional plus point would be the free laundry room at Ground Floor which you can wash for your clothes and dry them free. Staffs are polite and kind to assist you with any enquires that you have. All in all, a pleasant stay at City Inn Hotel (Taichung) and would return again for the same hotel the next trip.
Lastly kudos to staff - Emma who has helped to maintain the cleanliness of Room 701 throughout the entire 3 days. Appreciate your effort. Thank you 😊

The attitude of the service staff was very good. The room was neat and clean but had a bit of a damp smell. It is recommended to install a dehumidifier.
As soon as you exit the hotel, you will find Fengjia Night Market and convenience stores nearby. Everything is very comfortable and convenient!

this hotel has a very nice location. walking distance to the night market and so many restaurants close by. the best beef noodle shop is across the street. we ordered twice there. the hotel has a car park, which is very nice. first time taking an elevator to the car park. the staff are very friendly.

Beautiful lobby.
Breakfast buffet is nice but get there early ; although it closes at 10 am (they start hustling people out of dining area around that time), they start removing the labels at like 9:30 ish so if you don’t know what you are eating then you won’t. But the breakfast buffet is huge and nice so if it is included in your hotel stay it’s a nice perk.
Service is a little rushed . But hey just have the timing off a little bit and not always the most welcoming .

GGuest UserWould like to highlight an issue we encountered with regards to our deposit and certain charges that were made to us but which we had not incurred.
When we were checking out, we asked to have a look at our statement of charges as we understood that any additional charges would be offset by the deposit placed with the hotel. We had dinner at ”The Prime -Grill and Lounge” on one of the nights and just wanted to check if the charges were right. The statement showed 3 separate bills that were not incurred by us and were all purchases of alcohol, which we found strange.
When we brought this up with the front desk, the staff did not seem surprised at all with the error or sought to verify the same anywhere nor were we given any apology for the mistake. It was as though she already knew that those 3 charges were unanauthorised transactions and said that the hotel would rectify the issue with the bank in respect of our deposit. The front desk was also very adamant to not let us speak to her manager about the issue.
We just wanted to highlight the above because we would usually just trust the hotel to refund the right amount of deposit without checking, especially when using credit card to pay the same. But it may be worth checking when it comes to this hotel as based on the reaction which we got from the front desk, it seems that such mistakes whether intentional or not have happened before. We also hope that the hotel would do some sort of investigation into how issues like this could happen.

What's Good:
1. This is one of the most interesting hotel I stayed in. I like the balcony, can suntan. the layout and design of the room is fabulous. In the morning, when sun shines in, the room is so beautiful.
2. I also like that the room has multiple international plugs, guest don't need to bring international plugs. Hotels all over should adopt this idea.
3. The staff at the counter service very good. Very helpful ladies.
Areas for improvement:
1. The area near cabinet should install a light, at night I want to retrieve my clothes, I cant even see clearly.
2. I like that the toilet bowl has bidet. Too bad its not working. Please repair! Not very nice to rent our an unserviceable room. It's like when you paid $5 for an apple, the vendor gives you a partially rotten apple and expect you to accept it without discount. As a customer, what impression will you have of the vendor?
3. Roof top under repair. Early morning, I was woken up by heavy drilling and hammering. The hotel should be aware there is a guest staying right below. I have to call to ask them to stop. I understand repair needs to be done. Can arrange repairs on days when the 7th floor room is unoccupied?
4. I don't know if the room is infested with rats or ******* or if someone is staying above the 7th floor unit. In the middle of the night, 2-3am, heavy footsteps can be heard, you can hear the floor creek with each steps as if going to collapse!

SSiSiriThis is a very great place to stay at. It’s very convenient as it’s in a walking distance from Taichung Station and bus stops. I stayed for one night in a bunk bed ‘room’. Every bunk bed has its own space, counter, wardrobe, safe and enough power outlets. The washroom area is also well facilitated with a separate zone of wet and dry area in each shower room. They also have noodles time and a light breakfast.
Overall, it was a nice stay, would recommend for a solo traveler and will most probably stay here again if I come to Taichung 😊

GGuest UserThere's a lot that I like about this hotel. Our room was nice and large for the price. The decor in our room was beautiful, especially the wooden furniture. The toiletries by Cha Tzu Tang are the best! The location was great for us, being near or very near to useful bus lines. I would love to see more fresh fruit in the breakfast buffet. I would *really* like it if they have black coffee as an option in the room. (Inhouse Hotel Grand: If you're reading this, please can we have black coffee in the rooms that we can make for ourselves?)

GGuest UserIf check-in process becomes fully automated, the personal touch for service will deem to be as cold as a robot, and may spoilt the mood for traveller whenever we wish to ask questions about travel activities.
Next, after office hours, the shutter roller of the front counter is closed, hence there will be no access to water dispenser. Maybe hotel should consider to install a water dispenser for stayers to refill water, etc

Big room, soft and comfortable bed, and equipped with modern facilities, acceptable price. Perfect accommodation for couples. There’s 199 bus station on the side of the hotel, if you wanna go to fengjia night market ( 20-30 mins ). And 160 bus to xinwuri THSR about 10mins walking by foot to the station. Nice breakfast
Disadvantage:
Quite a distance if you want to travel, and have to transfer at least one bus. have to walk 20mins from irent parking lot. And we got confused about the check-in reception, it’s quite dark from the outside.

Across the hotel is Taichung Park. Room wise is good enough with basic items. Additional item can be collected from the reception at level 1

In addition, the light switch is wireless remote control which is very convenient. Although there is no refrigerator, the CP value is really high at this price!

Hhoo7749You can walk or take a bus from Taichung Station (several buses can get off at Renai Hospital Station). It is a very convenient hotel. The space is not big but the staff is very clean and comfortable. It will be a priority for your next trip to Taichung. Next to it, the Yanagawa Christmas lights decoration has been completed, but the waterfront landscape trail will not be opened until December 15.
