Hotels Near Takachiho Kagura in Takachiho

As Takachiho Gorge is comparatively hard to get to we felt much better staying in Takachiho for a night. And it's great to find a modern hotel in Takachiho, the front desk was nice and helpful, note that it is such a small town and dining options are not a lot so I would recommend have dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Hotel has a large parking lot and breakfast is great (a bit wait in the morning during peak time)

I stayed in a Japanese style room. It's a really nostalgic national lodging house with a tatami desk, TV, and tea chest. You'll have to lay out your own futon, which is probably a good thing because unlike inns, you can't enter your room without permission. It had just stopped raining and I could see a rainbow from the terrace. Takachiho is a short walk from Takachiho Shrine, where you can enjoy Kagura at night, and you can also rent cushions. Women will be happy to have individually packaged facial cleansers and cosmetics. We also enjoyed local cuisine such as comparing the tastes of Takachiho beef. This hotel is convenient for sightseeing in Takachiho Gorge.

I was very satisfied with my last visit and stayed at the request of my wife. When I visited Takachiho about 5 years ago, I couldn't stay at the hotel because the reservation was full, and I succeeded in revenge. The increase in accommodation costs, which was 70,000 yen for two people per night and two days, greatly exceeded the rate of price increase, and it is an impression that the luxury route was clearly spurred. The room was large, but it was just too simple and lacking in individuality. There is no large communal bath, and there are indoor and outdoor baths in the room. The open-air bath is a circulation type, but it is heated hot spring water. It's a luxury. Personally, I wanted a large communal bath, even if it was small. Last time we had dinner around the hearth, but this time we had a table and chairs in a private room where classics flowed. The food was delicious. However, it lacks the uniqueness of Miyazaki. I ignored all the information about expensive options. The alcohol menu is also a high-class line, and wine seems to be the best choice, but it is three times the price on the market. Breakfast was also a private room, and there were many items, so it was delicious. Two Chagall lithographs were exhibited on the wall of the private room. It was real, but not so expensive. This Chagall choice is subtle for a pure Japanese inn. There were other lithographs by Kaii Higashiyama and Ikuo Hirayama in the ryokan, but I think it is better to have a sense of unity rather than a mix of Japanese and Western styles. Overall, I was a little less satisfied than when I stayed last time, probably because I was too satisfied when I stayed last time. However, I think it is a recommended luxury inn in Takachiho. Personally, I no longer have the absolute feeling that I should definitely do it after staying this time. I'm a little disappointed. If you call yourself a pure Japanese-style inn, I think there was a strategy to stick to pure Japanese-style inns. Like a famous furniture company, I felt it was difficult to change generations. The next time I visited Takachiho, I wanted to try and compare different luxury inns. However, I feel that I will be doing it the next time I visit Takachiho. I look forward to seeing how it has evolved by the time of my next stay.

A long-established inn in the downtown area of Takachiho Town. Bus terminals and Takachiho Shrine from Nobeoka are slopes, but a few minutes walk away. Yamazaki convenience store is also nearby. Although it is a long-established store, you can feel the traces of various renovations. The toilet in the room was small but with a washlet. The difficulty is that there is no elevator. I still want an elevator to go back and forth between the １ floor and ３ floors. On the other hand, although it was dinner, the dishes centered on local dishes were lined up, and the sukiyaki of Miyazaki beef was delicious.

At check-in, I was charged a higher amount than the room rate I confirmed at the time of my phone reservation. When I asked why, I was booking in a single room, but a semi double room was prepared. This was vacant in a single room at the time of the telephone reservation, and it was 5000 yen (tax included) per night, and I made a reservation after confirming that I would accept the reservation. On the other hand, the receptionist said, ”the hotel has not selected the type of room for the customer at the time of booking. Because it is a hotel with a small number of rooms, I will assign a room that is vacant on the day and stay. If it was thought that it was confirmed in a single room, the customer might have been mistaken in the telephone exchange between the hotel staff and the customer. ” If you book a hotel and arrive, you don't know whether it's a room of 5000 yen or a room of 5900 yen, and there are many choices for guests who convince you by such a reservation method. Anyway, this reservation confirmed that there was a vacancy in the single room at the time of the telephone reservation, and I was talking on the phone with the person in charge to make a reservation in the single room. I told you that it was not a mistake here, but I said, ”If you don't like this hotel so much, go there because you will introduce another hotel.” Finally, I was able to refund the difference to seem troublesome, but I was sad that it was a response that did not try to hear the argument at all. As for this, it was a room chosen after comparing multiple inn and reservation method, so it was unbearable that the accommodation fee and the type of room were changed only for the convenience of the hotel. Also, I asked in advance to be able to leave my luggage to arrive in the morning, but when I arrived on the day, there was no one in the lobby and I went out because I was able to use it urgently. Please leave your luggage behind the counter.”

I stayed here to visit Takachiho gorge, which I wanted to go to for the first time on my first trip with him in the spring of 2016. Reasonable and good location, I was going to make a reservation alone, but it was a very memorable trip with the pleasant response of the staff from the time of reservation to the check-out. I remember the night Kagura and the way to night Kagura, and I used a taxi for the rest of the time, but I am satisfied that everything is smooth in the easy to access location. The breakfast was at the end of the breakfast, but the staff was told to be slow without a disgusting face, and both of them remained in memory. I was going to leave the review immediately after my stay, but it was a little earlier experience, but I thought it would be a reference and posted it. The hotel is located close to the bus terminal and it is a 7-minute walk to arrive, but the lady boss said that she could send her a car to pick her up! After we checked in, we went to dinner. It’s really heartwarming to help us prepare a bamboo leaf rice ball for each of us! ! Very friendly and friendly proprietress, of course she drove us to the bus terminal when we finally left the hotel! 😁 The room size is relatively small, there is no problem for 2 people, and it is a little crowded for 3 people! There are small desserts in the room! There is a separate toilet but no separate bathroom, but the hotel has a small hot spring where you can take a shower by the way! The breakfast is a Japanese breakfast, very delicious, and a staff member sings Japanese songs for entertainment! The hotel is not big, it looks a bit like a homestay, but the enthusiasm of the proprietress is full of warmth, making everything unimportant, not a problem, it deserves full marks! ! 👍🏼

A very nice and friendly owner/staff. I only stayed for a night so didn't use much of the services. The room is clean and comfortable and equipped with shower and bathroom though the shower room has a mid of moldy smell.
