Takamatsu Guesthouse BJ Station

I wasn’t super impressed by the place, BUT it is right next to the bus/train station and could check-in earlier. Normally it’s self check-in, but good thing there was someone because some keys were missing (the key to lock your valuables in a locker) as well as padlocks. They give you a key to a locker because the dorm room doesn’t have a lock. Anyhow, I guess the concept would work if guests did not forget to return their keys. Ah and wifi on the 4th floor didn’t work very well. Not dure I’d stay again for the price. Didn

I want to write a fair review. The place isn't that clean. But its good enough for me. I didnt see any roaches. Its a little dusty but its okay. The toilet and shower were clean. The bed was clean. The pillow and sheets were clean. Overall, this hostel is clean. The location is very good. Near Takamatsu station, near 7-Eleven and Mini Stop. Near Takamatsu castle. Nearby to taxis and other transportation. This kitchen was useful. Not the xleast kitchen, but it was good. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here. I am satisfied. Thank you

Pros - Pretty convenient location, gave me easy access to the port and supermarket. - cheap - you can order your stuff online to this place. - Kind manager  Cons(maybe) - When I arrived. The key to my room was nowhere to be found. I also don’t have Japanese phone number(my mistake). So I have to ask someone to call the manager for  me, to get the spare key. Most of the time manager wasn’t going to be there to explain things to you. So you have read the information on the board, which is quite confusing. There’s a number of time someone trying to open my door. I’m guessing they didn’t know where they room was. - Security system was kind of bad. Only 1 surveillance camera on the 1st floor.  - I literally can’t use the 4th floor WiFi since the first day. I have to use the 3rd floors WiFi every time which quite slow. After all, quite an okay place for the price. Can be very noisy sometimes but, everything was endurable. I’ll probably come again sometime in the future.

The guesthouse was very conveniently located just 5mins walk from the main station and the ferry port. The self check in service was also very simple which allowed for even later arrivals, the only difficult part to this stay was the 3 flight of stairs that were a bit narrow and steep for a suitcase, especially as it got heavier with the amount of souvenirs accumulated.

Weird, weird, weird! But, cheapest place in town, especially important on a Saturday night. First vibes were, should I just go stay at the train station across the street? Fortunately I stored my luggage at a coin locker at the station. This was genius as there would have been no way to store my suitcase in the rumoured locker. Self check in was confusing. Place seemed filthy. The bunk bed was a... I don't know the words. Example, from my upper bunk had I dropped my glasses into the 20cm gap between my bed and the walk I don't know that I would ever recover them as that seemed a dark, unreachable recess. Heaven forbid one drops a wallet down there. And yet, I slept very well. The bunk was very comfy, the room was quiet. I woke refreshed. In the light of day the common spaces seemed normal as did the loo. The stairs and entry way are the shoddiest part, giving the bad first impression. In summary: I wish I'd booked the proper capsule hotel down the road. Genius move to store my suitcase at station and save myself alot of hassle. There were those typical amateurs standing in the corridor looking for some thing or another in their giant suitcase. Bottom line: worth it for a single night stay if you neglected to book some place proper for the night. Just be smart and stash your luggage at the station across the street.

It is at a very convenient location near Takamatsu Port, JR station and Kotoden station, so it is a good starting point for attractions around Kagawa prefecture. There are restaurants nearby but supermarkets are somehow a bit far away. Independent socket, lighting and curtains are available to provide privacy for dorm bed users. Temperature in the dorm room was ok but the toilet was a bit cold in early morning.

I was able to get my own room which was a big bonus at a similar price to the dorm room. Get here NOW! Don't wait!
