You take off your shoes at the entrance before entering the building, but when you go out into the city, they prepare your food for you without you having to give your name.
I was also impressed with how the waiters served foreigners at meals just as smoothly as they would serve Japanese people.
There were some sore spots in the room, but it didn't bother me.
I also really liked the reclining chair in the bed room.
Needless to say, all the food was delicious, both breakfast and dinner. The portions were just right, and my elderly mother ate it all up.
The room attendants were also very pleasant.

Top class service with amazing food! Only downside was the rooms were on the older side but I think most hotels in takayama are old. Asking anyone, this is probably considered the best Ryokan in town.
