Jardin del Eden Boutique Hotel

We were recommended this resort by a good friend and the great things they said. However, there are pros and cons that I wanted to share. Pros- The hotel is clean in appearance. Staff is very friendly. Very close to the beach, (You have to walk across the street and they have a a private entrance.) The package we received was breakfast and dinner included. They did not have a beverage package. If you are looking for a relaxing and quiet place, this may be a good fit. Cons- If you are looking for a place to stay with some kind of daily activities and/or entertainment. This may not be a good fit. We found it very boring. No music or anything during dinner or after. The food was hit or miss. Also note, there is only one place to eat and it is completely outside. So during the hot monthly it is very uncomfortable. No AC. We probably would have only stayed here maybe 2-3 days. If you are traveling through the country this may be a good stopping point. Otherwise you are 1.5 hours to the nearest airport. And about 2 or more hours to most tours inland.

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel for a variety of reasons. There are a few things that were left to be desired, but generally speaking, this was a 5 star experience and we were very pleased with our overall experience. The Best: -The location. While still very close to the hub of the main road it felt secluded and quiet. The ocean views from our room were a nice touch, though we opted for a lesser category room based on some of the other reviews and knowing we would not be in the room often. We had a nice balcony right off the main lobby. -The beachfront garden & bar. What a highlight. Tranquil and perfect space to enjoy the beach with its own smaller pool for swimming. The bar there was an awesome touch and really made this a great experience. This alone is good reason to stay!! There are other beach front resorts but they are much busier and livelier. This was pure tranquility. -The Pool: When we were there it was very quiet, but the day beds were a delight. The grounds are GORGEOUS and the pool is no exception. Breakfast: -Made to order eggs/omelets/ etc. each day was perfect, it felt like a very well appointed included breakfast and was so nice to have so many options and champagne available each day! We really enjoyed this. Dinner: While we only ate there one night, the option to go to dinner was really great. I can see this being an affordable way for people to do Tamarindo. Dinners outside the hotel were pricey. We noted Southern CA pricing at almost all locations and so the fact that dinner is an option here is very accommodating. I wouldn't say it was the best dinner we ate, but, it was really flavorful and nice to not have to leave the grounds! Drinks were not included in the price of dinner but reasonably priced overall. The So-So: -Rooms are tired. Very clean & but just dated. Some folks mentioned only having a top sheet-this was a little strange. We used a blanket that was in the closet. They never replaced shampoo or conditioner during the 4 night stay, so we had to go ask for some which felt strange given we ran out after day 2. The room condition didn't take away from our stay, we weren't in it more than to sleep, but for some this could be a detractor. -The staff service. While everyone was pleasant, there were limits to what the staff could do. We asked about making a reservation at a local restaurant, and the front desk said 'you can call them.' I felt that was a little off putting. The concierge was at her desk twice that we saw over the course of 4 days. I expected there to be a bit more above and beyond effort from the front desk. ESPECIALLY when they asked us to add a tip at the end of the stay when we were settling our final bill. Perhaps that is customary in Costa Rica, however, it was very off putting for me in a hotel of this caliber. Tipping housekeeping is one thing, tipping a front desk who did nothing above and beyond felt very nickel and dime like. I did read reviews that there is a larger

My husband and I had our honeymoon here last year and this year we returned to celebrate our anniversary. From the staff to the service we LOVE Jardin Del Eden everyone is so kind and friendly. The rooms and gardens are gorgeous. The food is impeccable! We will be returning next year that how many incredible this resorts is! They are top notch in aspect.

A tropical oasis in the heart of Tamarindo. An incredible location that will give you the best of everything — beach, rainforest, city. The grounds are so beautifully manicured + the staff are exceptionally kind + welcoming. We enjoyed walking down the short path to the beach, where you will have private seating, pool, + a bar! The views are breathtaking, especially at sunset. My husband had so much fun walking back + forth to snorkel and surf. This resort will rejuvenate you. Highly recommend.

Wonderful place to stay. Great service! Highly recommend this resort. They are so welcoming. My first time to Costa Rica. Will tell all my friends this is definitely the place to stay. Alot to do. Excursions, pools,ocean all right here. Also beautiful scenery 😍
