Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa USF Near Busch Gardens

I have been coming to this hotel about 3 times a month since Dec 2022 due to medical appts at the VA. The Front Desk Supervisor, Angela knows me by name. She always greets me with a smile and asks how I am. I feel like she is my extended family away from home. My dining experience has been exceptional as well. Tori is generally the one who takes my order. She always has a smile and listens to me blab and vent. She knows what I like to eat and will ask me if I want my usual or want to change it. The food is always good. I have always had nice clean rooms. Keyz runs the shuttle and he is super nice and funny. I enjoy his company when he is driving me somewhere to get food.

My room has a smell that was so musty it made me nauseous.

It was phenomenal! Front desk Ms. Angela works above and beyond call of duty. Mr. Keyes also excellent and works above and beyond to help out the hotel guests. Breakfast was on point every day! One of the top places in Tampa to stay! Great location and vibe.

I'm not much of a review writer, but I have to say something about my stay at Embassy Suites USF because it was such a terrible experience. For me the decision to speak out was made as I overheard another guest having a very similar experience with Mina, who may be the most rude and snotty person I've ever interacted with at a hotel So let's talk about this hotel. There are a few things that you expect when you give your money to a hotel in exchange for a nights stay. A clean room, a comfortable place to sleep, and the ability to clean yourself the next day before the day begins. You'll have none of that at this hotel. As we rolled our bags into the room we noticed trash on the floor, tags and plastic from something the previous guest purchased most likely. Looking past that we assumed it was an oversight and went about our business, until I needed a tissue and found hair when I pulled one out of the tissue box that didn't belong to either of us. It also took a while to find a wall plug that worked, several of them didn't. The latch on the bathroom door was also on backwards so if you bumped the door it opened. It was late though, and we decided none of this was worth mentioning until checkout - so we ignored it and went to sleep .. on pillows that were as comfortable as a couple of napkins. We wanted to put out a do not disturb sign, but we didn't have one of those either. Other rooms did, just not ours. There was some sort of event happening with a lot of kids staying at the hotel who were very loud and very unsupervised, but it's a hotel and I suppose that was to be expected. Just don't use the bathroom on the first floor, the kids loaded all the toilets with toilet paper and the hotel just left it that way into the next morning. Speaking of the next morning, we were up early and planned to be ready to go before breakfast opened at 7. I got in the shower and noticed that the conditioner bottle was completely empty, literally nothing came out of it. I finished up and went to the front desk to see about getting small bottles of conditioner where I met Mina who was very short with me while informing me that they don't have bottles at the front desk and that she would need to open a ticket. I mentioned to her that we needed to leave and she got snottier and told me there was nothing else that she could do. At that point it was 7am so we went to eat. 8am came, and then 9am and we couldn't wait any longer to finish getting ready and leave. Still no conditioner, which is kind of a basic thing to for a hotel to provide when you have paid money for access to a shower. I started loading the car while my wife showered without it and as I passed through the lobby I met another guest who was in the process of letting Mina know that the hotel would be receiving a bad review for her rude interaction and I took a moment to confirm that I had a similar experience and would be doing the same thing. Nope. Stay away. The hotel was not what we expected. It is old and dated. The pool was disgusting, back and green mold everywhere. There was a wasp infestation near the pool so wasp were flying around everywhere. The pics of the pool on the website show a pool surrounded by lounge chairs. Haha. Nope! There were 3 lounge chairs. No towels in the room. The bathroom was dirty when we arrived. The ONLY good thing about this hotel is the free breakfast! That’s it!!

Everytime AC came on, tv in sitting area went off. Dont go to the restaurant for dinner. Waitor was great. Kitchen ****** ass. Took 30 min for cold nachos starter. While my dinner sat in the window. My husbands salad sat 20 min in window while my dinner was remade. After i said take the nachos, charge us for tea and beer, we're out. . The waitor still brought us food. I walked away and my husband paid for our drinks. Then at 12:30 police were there cause its ghetto and guests caused a ruckus. Stay across the street at the Holiday Inn.

Me and others had to go to the front desk for towels, and the living rooms tv didn’t work my husband wanted not to be in the bedroom the whole time that was the reason for getting a suite , other then that everything was great.

The hotel itself was great. When we checked in, we were never informed parking would cost money, and we were never asked about an incidental charge(putting a card on file). So when we came back to the hotel there was a letter under our door stating we had a balance. We went downstairs to figure out what the balance was and that's when we were informed about the parking and that we had to put a card on file because it got declined. I said having a card decline and having no card on file are completely different scenarios. My husband and i kept asking her exactly what she needed from us to fix it all and she got very short tempered with us. She asked us to put a card on file(to which i did) and she told me she would take the parking charges off for the inconvenience. I told her it wasn't necessary but it was very kind. An hour later, i had a pending charge on my card for parking😐 its still there but I'm hoping tomorrow it will fall off since it's pending. Overall, the hotel was clean, the rooms were a great size. We will definitely stay again but now i know what to expect.
