"When we got to check in at 1:30 pm they told us they had no rooms. I advised I booked online and they told me they know but they still have to rooms available. They also said check in time was 3 pm even if there were rooms available. I told them in the app it has check in time at 2pm. I told them to cancel my booking and refund my money since they didn’t have any rooms. They said ok and cancelled it in their system."

"The stay was extremely poor, completely unacceptable for a JW Marriott. First, the room's cleanliness was appalling; the sheets had obvious stains, and the carpet was covered in hair and dust, making it very unpleasant to enter. The so-called "deluxe water view room" offered only a mediocre view. The environment was even worse. The lobby was noisy, and at night, I could hear noise from the hallway from my room; the soundproofing was terrible, making it impossible to get a proper rest. The facilities were also very outdated; the bathroom drainage was poor, water pooled at my feet in the shower, and the air conditioner was so loud it sounded like an engine, making it impossible to find any peace and quiet. The service was even more disappointing. The front desk staff were indifferent, completely lacking in politeness and professionalism, and barely responsive to my questions. I called to request extra towels, and it took almost an hour for them to arrive. The breakfast selection was limited, the taste was mediocre, and the restaurant staff were disorganized and chaotic. Overall, the experience was completely unworthy of the so-called luxury hotel price; it felt worse than a regular budget hotel. I will absolutely never come back, and I would not recommend it to anyone."

"I had an amazing stay at JW Marriott Tampa Water Street. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt upscale but still welcoming. The lobby is beautifully designed and gives you that “luxury vacation” feeling right away. The room was spotless, modern, and super comfortable. The bed felt like sleeping on a cloud, and the floor-to-ceiling windows gave an incredible view of downtown Tampa and the water. Everything was well thought out, from the lighting to the bathroom setup. One of the best parts is the location. Being right in the Water Street Tampa district means you’re steps away from great restaurants, bars, and the Riverwalk. It made the whole trip feel easy and fun without needing to drive everywhere. The pool area was another highlight—relaxing, clean, and perfect for unwinding. Staff throughout the hotel were friendly and professional, always willing to help.Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations. If you’re visiting Tampa and want something modern, convenient, and a little luxurious, this is definitely the place to stay. I would 100% come back."

"While a bit compact for a resort, this hotel offers convenient access by car to popular spots like the bustling bay-side scenic long beach and sunset view bar. The hotel restaurant features bay views and a small artificial beach perfect for a stroll. There's also a pool under construction nearby, and outdoor seating, making for a very pleasant dining experience. Most rooms offer some sort of water view. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, and the bedding is comfortable (though a slightly firmer mattress would be perfect). The air conditioning is quiet, and overall, I'm satisfied."

The coffee shop has the best café con leche of any place in Tampa, the Flor Fina restaurant has a wonderful menu that serves the best lunch and dinner in Tampa. And you cannot meet a friendlier and accommodating staff from the valet to the front desk to the waiters and waitresses and bartenders and even the people who clean your rooms!"
