Friendly receptionists but they help little with the Kumano Kodo routes. They don't explain much about the facilities either. When you check in after 3pm you can no longer reserve dinner and there are not many options there.
The most negative note is the cleanliness of the onsens they have, they are open 24 hours a day and the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired.

湯の峰温泉の一角にあるゲストハウス。ここは元々民宿だった所を改装したようです。なのでゲストハウスに関わらず、温泉に入り放題！２泊で３回入りました。5000円を切る値段で温泉に入れるのは最高です！お湯は硫黄の匂いがそこまでせず、すんなりと入れました。夕食は別料金で弁当と白米を食べることができます。(宿周辺では夕食を食べられる店が無い。)宿泊時はインバウンドの客でとても混んでいましたが、今度は落ち着いた時期に行きたいですね。

We booked a private room in JHoppers. It was easy to check in. Their private onsens are easy to use and very relaxing. They have plenty of snacks to buy and they offer rice in the morning.
However, do not book on *******!! We made this mistake and the hotel contacted us to order dinner boxes. We responded but the hotel never got our message. The town only has 1 restaurant so if it’s closed you won’t be able to eat that night
