We are delighted to have this trip ready for onsen! Good river!

This hotel is perfect for a relaxing one day stay. It’s right beside a sapphire-blue river in the middle of the mountains. The in-room onsen is more than big enough for two people and they also have communal baths. They also offer a free shuttle to the start of a stretch of the Kumano Kodo if you want to hike the next day.

Great location and the room is huge. It would be good to include a menu/food list for the dinner set.

We have missed the dinner on our first night upon our arrival at 8pm as we are being told that the dinner will be last served by 7pm.

A great alternative to the more popular Yunomine Onsen area. I feel it’s quieter here by the riverside, plus you can dip in the river waters which was nice. The ryokan has its own bus stop by the entrance, the onsen choices were great and the food delicious. I would really recommend this spot

Very old-fashioned hotel, the door is still opened by a key. The hot spring is great, you can enjoy the outdoor hot spring. Dinner and breakfast are super nice, the service is very comfortable. It drizzled in the morning, sitting by the window to enjoy the tranquility of the mountains. The bus was very crowded in the morning when we left this stop, and the hotel brother quickly drove us to the next stop. There were backpackers who were climbing the mountain, and we squeezed the most crowded bus in the past 20 years to go down the mountain to Hayatama Taisha.

Very nice hotel, the food is also very good! (ps: everything is very delicate, and they are served one by one. Every time we thought we had finished eating, they came up with a small soup and snacks, and we ended up eating too much) The tatami is also very comfortable. Although we didn't go to the door to dig hot springs, we tried all the big and small pits. The deep and small water is hotter, and the large and shallow water is colder. Ps: Kumano Kodo is so beautiful!

Kawayu is a very special experience. The hotel is easy to find and close to the bus station. Breakfast and dinner are pretty good. The uncle at the front desk speaks good English and is very enthusiastic. He patiently explains the route and helps make phone calls, etc. Thumbs up!

I booked a room with a private bath, which was large and new. The facilities were very complete. The private bath in the room was not comfortable enough and was not as good as the public hot spring downstairs. I also stayed at Yufeng and Midoriya Sansui (I forgot the name) in Kumano last year. Fujiya is the best in all aspects. But unexpectedly, I found that many details in the room were very dirty and had not been cleaned for a long time. For example, on the bathroom sink and at the head of the bed, there was a long ***** of light where you could put things, and there were even many dead bugs attracted by the light. . . The service was in place and the food was delicious. There was also a free shuttle to the main shrine and the Hoshinmon, which was very convenient.

This hot spring hotel is conveniently located. Buses from all directions stop at the hotel entrance. The service facilities and breakfast and dinner are all good. I would like to mention that the person in charge of this area specially helped us to make a phone reservation for the return bus (because we needed to make a reservation). On the day of departure, he sent us to the bus early in the morning and took special care of the bus driver, which was very touching. In order to communicate with Chinese people, a Chinese translator was specially prepared. The service is really sincere, enthusiastic and heartwarming!

The hotel room is a very traditional Japanese tatami room. The room is relatively old and the shower head in the bathroom is very small. But the food is not bad, and the rest can only be said to be average!
