The boss is a very Western-minded person, and there is no problem communicating in English. He can completely help you with any problems on the Kodo. Accommodation includes breakfast and dinner, and the dinner is rich. It is absolutely cost-effective. It is also worth recommending if you want to lie here for one or two nights to rest on the weekend.

I posted on Instagram that I've been married to my wife for 1 year and 11 months, and the owner, Anshin, commented, "Are you coming here soon? Let's celebrate." So I decided to go to Takahara to celebrate our 2nd anniversary with my wife, and we came here for the first time in 5 years. It was a great coincidence (lol). I felt excited as we gradually approached the top of the mountain. When I turned the last corner, the familiar "Takahara" was right in front of me. When I parked the car and went inside, the familiar and friendly owner, Anshin, welcomed me. Just like 5 years ago, he guided me to every corner of the guesthouse. I got in the room early, so I thought I'd walk along the Kumano Kodo, but when I looked up at the sky, I saw some suspicious clouds. I changed my plans and went to Ryujin Onsen, which I'd wanted to go to for a while. After taking a leisurely bath in the hot spring, I came back and the staff were preparing dinner. I came here because I was looking forward to this❣ I relaxed in the room for a bit and had a beer with my wife. We hadn't been married since the last time we came, so we reminisced about those times. Then it was finally time for the long-awaited dinner. We were served a variety of Japanese and Western dishes (lol). First, there was a small selection of wild vegetable tsukudani, sashimi, homemade sesame tofu, oden, and Kumano beef sukiyaki. Next came a plate of soft tacos and other dishes. Then there was wild sweetfish, my wife's absolute favorite. As promised by Anri, she got two for us (・∀・) Great!! As was the case before, everything was really delicious～～～ The tacos this time were the best✌ The cumin-flavored filling was the best❣ Of course, the sweetfish was impeccable. Anri's wife showed off the bones that my wife had neatly eaten to the other guests (lol). After the meal, we enjoyed Anri's flamenco guitar performance. At this time, Anri's eyes, which had always been full of jokes, were serious❕ After the performance, each guest naturally headed to their terrace seats. As was the case five years ago, before COVID-19 we had a lot of foreign guests, but now... It can't be helped... But today the venue is fully booked again☺ And on the terrace, Anpo mediated between the guests, encouraging lively conversation as the alcohol flowed and everyone was in a good mood... Thanks to COVID-19, there are no more opportunities to drink alcohol in a friendly a**osphere like this with people other than family, and we haven't had a drinking party since February of last year when my tennis friends got together to celebrate a senior's Yellow Ribbon Medal (ﾉД`)sob sob... And the reason why complete strangers can have such a great time is probably because of the heartfelt a**osphere created by Anpo ❣ It was a truly memorable evening(^_-)-☆ We're going rafting the next morning so we had an early breakfast. A plate with lots of fruit and a plate of traditional Japanese food filled us up right away. We had a beautiful sea of ​​clouds below us and it was a wonderful morning. It was my first time seeing a sea of ​​clouds❣ This time, I ended up staying here by chance, but the thing that made me happiest was seeing my wife's happy and joyful face. I thought the same five years ago, but although the rooms are cheap (sorry), there is another world here that you can't experience even in the most amazing five-star hotels. It is a warm and happy "Kiri no Sato" that remains in the hearts of each guest.
