San Domenico Palace, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel

This is a simply breathtaking hotel in a converted monastery and made famous by series 2 of White Lotus. There is a sense of the history of the building everywhere with lots of original decor remaining. Even the door to our room was the original size that it would have been when the property was a monastery. There used to be lots to explore at the property, including beautifully manicured gardens, a spectacular swimming pool, courtyard, various lounge rooms and more. There used to be also a very well kitted out gym and a great choice for food and drink. We also enjoyed an amazing tour of the local area in a 1960s Fiat 500 which was an amazing experience. Our room was fantastic - a nice living area with sofa and two armchairs separate to the very comfortable bedroom with en suite bathroom. Breakfast was something to behold - a fabulous buffet offering a full range of fresh Italian food and Sicilian speciality dishes as well as an extensive a la carte menu with lots of choice. We enjoyed it on a terrace offering stunning views of Taormina. Service throughout was impeccable with a special thank you to Ariana who made our breakfast experience even more special with her interesting and fun conversation.

The whole experience was perfect! The spa was specifically amazing and Grace the masseuse is highly highly recommended. In general the staff were so welcoming and they do make you feel special and accomodate for all your needs and bookings

San Domenico Palace is a uniquely fantastic experience, a class above any other 5 star hotel I've ever visited. The property itself is magnificent. The staff are a case study of professionalism, friendliness, initiative, and care. The surrounding town is charming. The views are breathtaking. I'm actually concerned I'll never enjoy another vacation as much as this one.

We had an incredible time our family of four. Service was tremendous. Hotel was super nice, clean and well-maintained. Pool was beautiful. It's located right in the main town so in minute, you are in the thick of the local city, yet the hotel is secluded and not crowded at all. Cant wait to go back.

The hotel is beautiful , wonderful decor and brilliant staff ( all extremely helpful) great food in the restaurants and a super pool. But, my husband has a mobility issue and walks with a stick and found the distances between the lifts and the pool or the restaurants and bars etc very long . We realise this is an old building and lift shafts cannot be placed anywhere but we do think that there are simple things that could be done to help such as handrails on all staircases , and not just starting half way up as in the toilet near reception. We had a suite for five days and I personally would have preferred a dressing table with a mirror and most importantly a plug for a hairdryer - I don’t like having to dry my hair in the bathroom ( safety issue) or to do my makeup standing up. I was surprised that in a hotel of this quality that this was the arrangement. On balance however, we enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel but wished we were younger and better walkers!

Was mislead that I can choose a table for my birthday celebration by whole establishment. They are not about honesty and transparency. And FS philosophy treat ppl how you want to be treated was not applied to me on my birthday. Pls do not crush your special celebration in Principe Cerami especially if you have a preference for a particular table . The philosophy of “we will do the best we can”is false.

The pictures do not provide the grandor and richness of this property. The palace has been restored and renovated to a Four Season palace fit for a King or Queen. The staff are warm with Sicilian charm, the property boasts artwork, gardens and beautiful seaviews. The food is wonderful and within a few steps you are in the heart of Taormina to enjoy the food, shopping and history. What can we say? We will return to this paradise. Six stars would not be enough, this is luxury done right.
