We enjoyed our stay here in this lovely city, but having visited many H10 hotels, this one was not up to the usual standard. The positives were the amazing view from our 5th floor room, the varied quality breakfast, the pleasant rooftop area and the convenient hotel parking. The breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. What let the hotel down was the manner of some of the staff and the poor internal communication when making requests. Upon arrival we were not warmly welcomed and only received a glass of cava after asking for one. On the Saturday we went to the rooftop bar for drinks and early afternoon tapas. It was extremely busy, due in part to a wedding party staying at the hotel, but we just managed to find a sofa on the side. We were handed drinks and food menus and we soon made our selections. However, we were then ignored for over 20 minutes despite servers seeing us sitting there at an empty table. Eventually we asked someone when our order was going to be taken and was told that the appropriate person would come over to us. Why only one person can take orders at such a busy time is ridiculous. The drinks came 10 minutes later, followed some time later by the almost cold tomato bread. Another saga was trying to get a kettle and tea bags for the room. The first kettle was broken and had to be replaced. I then requested English breakfast tea bags, but the wrong ones were left in the room on two occasions. We requested upon arrival that our Grand Class first day free mini bar was not replenished during our stay, so that we could identify which items were ours still to use. But yes, you guessed it, it was refilled on day 3, so this was yet another reception visit to sort it out. Finally, when the bill was produced, the Grand Class food and drink discount had not been applied and we had to settle later at checkout once it had been rectified. A good hotel, but does not live up to a 4 star superior rating
