This was actually a lot better than what I expected, given the lack of pictures I could find. It was a shared bath, but it’s really like those traditional Japanese Ryokan. Yukatas are also given. Breakfast & dinner were provided & the whole place was just so cozy. It’s the more affordable option to stay at Murodo Terminal area. Nice getaway

The location is very good and the facilities are great. I am really happy to be able to take a bath in Kaohsiung Mountain. The dinner and breakfast are also super delicious. It is the first choice to live in Tateshan. I will choose here again next time I come.

Delicious breakfast and dinner

Whilst you don’t visit this hotel for its quality, you do come here for its outstanding setting in the Japanese Alps. On the positive side, it is located in an incredibly beautiful part of the Japanese Alps, and the biggest draw is the fact that day tourists will have left by the time it gets to dusk. This allows you to have a relatively private viewing of the ice wall which is amazing, and also to walk around the area which consists of a beautiful lake, volcanic gases emanating from a volcanic caldera, and the opportunity to see the Raichi bird (ptarmigan specie) unique to the area. The service was top class too, and a big mention must go to our waiter (Kono) who tried his hardest to speak English with us. Food was good as was breakfast, On the negative side, the hotel badly needs updating from the common parts, restaurants, bars, common areas, corridors, rooms and bathrooms. It was clean, but sparsley furnished and the chairs in our lounge were really uncomfortable. The bathroom was very dated, but functional. In short, view the hotel as a destination that is 100% worthwhile visiting, but accept that the hotel is somewhat dated

My first look at this mountain lodge told me that it was safe and secure. Considering that the first mountain lodge here was built in the 15th century and rebuilt again in the 18th century suggests a base of dependable craftwork. The rooms were comfortable with a window looking out onto the mountains. Tateyama Murodo Sando stands on Murodo Kogen 2,500 M above sea level. A view of Tateyama's tallest peaks Oyama and Onanjiyama can be seen from the men's bath window. Overall it was quite a comfortable facility.

Although it is a mountain hut, there is no water restriction, and I was able to take a bath and stay very comfortably. The food was delicious and very plentiful, so I couldn't finish it. I would like to stay here again when I climb Mt. Tateyama.

Although it is a mountain hut, it has a hot spring, the food and staff are kind, and the air and scenery are great. By my count, I stay at Tateyama Murodo once every three years and continue climbing the mountain. As someone who loves Tateyama, I always feel uncomfortable about the poor connection between Tateyama Electric Railway and JR. Considering the transfer time between Dentetsu Toyama and JR Toyama Station, a 10 minute connection time is just about the limit. Considering the weight of my backpack and the fact that about 10 people will be traveling with me, I always feel anxious about transferring.

Worst. English after Japanese. Worst. I tried to make a reservation by phone for a foreigner who can't speak Japanese, and at first there was a vacancy, but as soon as I told them the name of the person I was staying with, they said, "If you are making reservations for someone else, please tell me first," "What country are you from," and "If you make a reservation for someone else, it will be a problem." Maybe something happened in the past, but there are many foreigners who work hard and are looking forward to traveling to Japan with the money they saved, but they were discriminated against. The service is too bad. I called them to make reservation for my client who cannot speak Japanese. They said they have opening so I gave them foreign name, then all the sudden, they started saying, "if you are making reservations for someone else, please tell me that beforehand" "which country are the clients from?" "It is not acceptable if someone else showed up." I don't know what happened to them before, but super super rude and ******.

I have seen the autumn leaves of Karasawa several times, but as far as I know, the autumn leaves of Murodo are the most wonderful in terms of scale and color. This time, I was able to appreciate the surrounding autumn leaves from the top of Mt. Tsurugi and the top of Tateyama Sanzan. If my stamina allows, next year I would like to do a luxurious mountaineering trip to admire the autumn leaves while traversing Mt. Dainichi. The lodging facility I used was Kenzanso, and I would like to use it again.
