I stayed for one night in the standard room. Surprisingly good in such a small budget hotel. Very clean and very comfortable, standard room facilities, in the safe in the room they even provide you with toothbrushes, combs and disposable slippers. (These are available in rooms only 4 stars and more than 4 stars now)...you can find many small restaurants (seafood) opposite the hotel. PS: The hotel front desk and the hotel backstage CCTV can be seen on room TV. They'll also deliver FOC coconut rice to your room in the morning.

The place was really nice, convenient and clean. No amenities as it feels more like a backpackers inn. More than worth for the price for divers who need 24 hours before flying. With tons of food and other necessities nearby. If you are staying here and love seafood please try Kam Ling Seafood.

LA hotel used to be one of the best hotels in Tawau, but not now. The facilities and services of other new hotels are much better than LA hotel now. Those new hotels may not have breakfast in their packages but the hotel rate is reasonable. LA hotel's breakfast quality has lots of room to improve.

The stay was a decent and okay experience overall. Though I enjoyed it, I would like to remind the staffs at the hotel to ensure the cleanliness of the room’s toilet to be the highest concern. I could see dirty dust and ashes of a cigarette in the sink and the smell was definitely there. Also, the bed sheet stink. I could smell the likeliness of a body odour on the bed which was totally very unpleasant. Please be reminded that the hotel is located at the city centre, so the noise would probably become another concern, you could hear sirens, honks, shouts from the streets etc. On the bright side, everything is just within walking distant, even 24H restaurants. I wasn’t looking for the best experience like I would usually do when I go travelling as I was only staying for a night due to an urgent business. I booked at the last minute just for a transit, so I cannot say I did not enjoy the experience, it was better than staying out in the streets. Heritage hotel provides cheaper option too, so everyone can save up a little. Anyway, I can recommend you to stay here, but of course, like anywhere else in the world, you could find better option with similar price or cheaper, better experience, get you fully satisfied and all, but that’s probably unlikely in Tawau during an urgent time. So, 6.5/10 from me.
