Hotel Ohsho

We found this place when we were looking for accommodation without meals included, as our main purpose for the trip was cherry picking. We had a Japanese-style room, a large public bath, and best of all, a great location. For dinner, we strolled around the area and finished off with a soba noodle dish at Suisha Soba. We thoroughly enjoyed Tendo City!

You can feel the age in every aspect.

Unfortunately the guide was unhelpful and the food was not tasty.

There were many areas that needed to be repaired.

天童にある水車そばというお蕎麦屋に行きたかったので、真向かいにあるホテル王将の立地は最高でした。ホテルは施設は古く、特にエレバーターはかなりの年季が入っています。しかし部屋は古いが畳は新しく掃除も行き届いていました。お風呂も大きくて脱衣所には鏡台がたくさんあり、ゆっくりドライヤーできます。ヘアブラシはありません。シャンプー、リンスは馬油と植物系のもの、米ぬかの洗顔料もありました。露天風呂やサウナがないのが残念です。新幹線の駅まで往復送迎してもらえて良かったです。

ホテルの目の前は足湯もあり居酒屋、蕎麦屋などすぐ近くで温泉街を楽しめます。温泉♨️は普通の単純泉なので皮膚など敏感な方には良いと思います。

Located in the center of Tendo Onsen, it is close to the famous Suisha Soba (Japanese soba and chicken Chinese) and a delicious izakaya. The presence of Osho in Tendo Onsen is a great presence. The rooms may be old, but they are cleaned reasonably well, and feature tatami mats, cushions, and clean futons. The hot spring is also spacious and warm. It is a great base for sightseeing in Yamagata.
