Tendo Hotel

Tendo Hotel ★★★

📍 2-chome-1-3 Kamatahoncho, Tendo

"For our trip to Ginzan Onsen, we decided to stay in the Tendo Onsen area, and chose this hotel. The room was lovely, with a tatami mat area and a bed, just the way I like it. The hot spring was absolutely sublime, and I soaked in it for over an hour, feeling completely relaxed. The breakfast buffet also had a variety of local dishes, and I ate until I was full."

"The hotel is located close to the train station. Being located in a small town, the surrounding amenities were limited. The management need to look into the pillows which were very uncomfortable to sleep on. Beside this, every thing else were good"

"There's a footbath right in front of the hotel, and you can enjoy the hot spring town with izakayas and soba restaurants nearby. The hot spring water is a regular simple spring, so it's good for people with sensitive skin."

Tendo Hotel ★★★
"I was curious after seeing the YouTuber's introduction, so this was my first time staying at the Tendo Hotel. It's a very standard Japanese traditional-style onsen hotel♨️, with afternoon tea including coffee, hot tea, beer, and konjac noodles. After bathing, there was Yakult and popsicles available for self-service… The highland scenery outside the window was beautiful… But next time, please don't assign me room 625 again… The noise from the surrounding area, like a motor or washing machine, lasted all night, until 1 a.m., and it was still noisy. So I put on headphones and earplugs and listened to music to sleep."

"I highly recommend this hotel and must stay for one night. It happened to be snowing when I went there, so it was a great time to take a dip outdoors, and the scenery was breathtakingly beautiful. Regret that I only stayed one night."

Hotel Ohsho ★★★
"Located in the center of Tendo Onsen, it is close to the famous Suisha Soba (Japanese soba and chicken Chinese) and a delicious izakaya. The presence of Osho in Tendo Onsen is a great presence. The rooms may be old, but they are cleaned reasonably well, and feature tatami mats, cushions, and clean futons. The hot spring is also spacious and warm. It is a great base for sightseeing in Yamagata."
