Shouhakutei Azumaso

During my six-night, 700km trip from Miyagi to Yamagata to Fukushima with my nine-year-old nephew, I stayed at the most enjoyable and beautiful hotel. The beauty of Japan lies not only in its natural beauty, but also in the kindness of its people. The smile of the staff who greeted me from the moment I checked in will be a lasting memory. The kaiseki cuisine was exquisite, and the kindness of the staff, who even matched my nephew, who was obsessed with Tanjiro, with chopsticks patterned on his clothes, made it feel like I received something more valuable than the culinary experience itself. There were ryokans on the itinerary that were more than double the price, but the happy memories alone make me want to return here with my family. It was my first time experiencing a kotatsu, and as a Korean, it was a strange and novel experience.

As a ryokan located in the heart of Tendo Onsen Village, the kindness of the staff was the best thing about it. In particular, when I returned to my room without having dessert after the meal, a staff member showed true service by coming to my room with dessert. I would like to express my gratitude and would like to stay here again when I am in the area.

I wanted to stay at a ryokan, so I made a big decision and booked a place with a private bath!! Sendai is a bit far, so I rented a car. The staff were surprisingly friendly and the facilities were fantastic. There was a communal bath, and best of all, the breakfast and dinner were delicious. The menu was different every day, which made eating there even more enjoyable. I was worried because there weren't many Korean reviews, but it exceeded my expectations!!
