The room was large and featured traditional Bhutanese architecture and decorations. The windows were particularly beautiful, and framed a lovely view of the city and valley. We were welcomed with freshly-prepared tea as we checked in. The food and service in the dining room was plentiful and of good quality. We only stayed one night in Thimphu, so did not have a chance to use the pool or see how walkable the location in town is. Shower was terrific with plenty of hot water, and hair dryer worked great. Comfortable bed.

This is a very good hotel in the capital of Bhutan. Its service and its rooms are of good quality even if the decoration is a little dated, or if we want to put it in a more positive way, the decoration gives in the charm of the old. During the winter period, unfortunately the swimming pool is closed and this makes the staff laugh when you ask for access. Wifi works well throughout the hotel. The restaurant is large, but the pretty decoration makes you feel at home even if there are few tourists in the winter season.

When we arrived at the hotel it had only just reopened after its refurbishment and for the one night of our stay, we were the only guests. Our room had a KSB, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and the hotel provided two bottles of filtered water. There was a hairdryer and toiletries provided. Our room had no aircon or safe. There was a swimming pool which we did not have time to use. We ate in the hotel as there were no nearby restaurants. The food was very good with a soup starter and then a large variety of vegetable dishes with a chicken and beef dish, final a fresh fruit desert. In the morning we had cereal, fresh fruit, with eggs however you would like. The staff we met were all very friendly, pleasant and helpful. Our bill which was only for a few local beers had to be paid in cash.

Lovely refurbished hotel in Thimpu. The interior is absolutely beautiful with decorated carved wood structures, silk cloth decorations and charming staff. The hotel also has a big indoor swimming pool, conference space and wedding reception space ! We swam in the pool which had separate changing facilities with showers too. There’s an outside bar but we didn’t use it. Good location with lovely views.
