Best Western Plus NorWester Hotel Conference Centre

Clean and very nice staff

Making a reservation at the Best Western Nor’Wester is always a pleasant experience. The phone is answered by friendly and knowledgeable hotel staff and not someone in a call center. At check in you are greeted by friendly individuals ready to help. The same goes for the restaurant with friendly efficient wait staff. The rooms are great, clean and well equipped. I have been staying here regularly for the past 10 years and it will continue to be my first choice when visiting Thunder Bay.

A very nice stay was had by my family. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and modern. The free breakfast was also decent. Pool and hot tub were enjoyed, by our family. There is nothing bad or negative to stay, well done.

Property is clearly outdated and in need of upgrades. Price per night is ridiculous

we stayed here for a wedding and barely slept due to people being extremely disruptive in the halls and banging on walls. when security was roaming the halls, they turned a blind eye and let it happen. when staff were notified of it, nothing was done about it. besides that, rooms were clean and the wedding venue was beautiful!

We always enjoy our stays at the NorWester. The scenic surrounding, friendly staff well appointed rooms, lobby and restaurant make for an enjoyable experience. I would not hesitate in recommending the NorWester when looking for a place to stay in Thunder Bay

Room was small and no outdoor access

Overall everything was good for a one night stay while traveling. Refurbished older hotel. Low ceilings, tiny bathroom. Breakfast was good. Staff was excellent.

I specifically called to confirm they were On the TransCanada Highway, the guest service person barely must have listened to my question, she giggled and said "We are right On the highway".... not the highway I was asking. They are very far away from the main areas of town with restaurants and other services. Quite remote. When I spoke to complain to the sales manager he said his staff needs to clarify to guests that they are away from the main area right close to the airport, a bit remote. Two area doors to our room stairs were closed/blocked off, it was 11pm at night we couldn't understand where we could park and go in... leaving us to go around and around the building looking for an open entrance! The hotel is old and run down, with subprime upgrades. The value for the quality of this hotel is POOR. Not worth the money spent. Our room had a foul smell not sure if it was cleaning agents or pets or just old and tired. bathroom was tiny, with large tub that had dirty caulking around the tub, and tub did not drain well as well had damage that had been painted over. I mentioned all this to the sales manager who said he would call me back Once he addressed it as the room had been fully renovated. He didn't call me back so I called back twice and finally he answered. He brushed off the smell saying that his cleaning head person went there and there isn't any smell. This a blatant lie. He was unhelpful and didn't care. I was bushed off!
