Brilant Antik Hotel

The wardrobe was had a crack in the glass and was missing a handle. The reading light over the bed didn’t work. One of the bulbs above the sink was hanging by a wire. There was build up around the base of the shower in the cracks. It looked like it was just chalked over. The bed was firm but I like a firm bed.

Last weekend, we stayed at the Brilant Antik Hotel in Tirana. And I have to say that choosing this hotel was a very good decision. Of course, we saw all the good reviews this hotel had, so we did have quite high expectations. And I am pleased to say that reality exceeded expectations. 1. Hotel Brilant Antik Hotel is situated in the heart of Tirana, within walking distance of all the main places to see in Tirana. You need about 10 minutes to go to Main Square, New Bazar, and Castle. Although in the centre of the town, the hotel itself stands about 200 metres from the main road, so you do not hear busy street noise. Also, as we have been told, this is the oldest hotel in Tirana. And they made sure that guests could feel it as soon as they passed the entrance doors, thanks to very tasteful decorations and ornaments. 2. Communication with the hotel From the moment we booked our stay until the last moment of it, there were never problems with fast and efficient communication with the hotel. We got replies on ***********, but mainly we stayed in contact with the hotel manager. As in many places in the world, the most efficient way of communicating was by using WhatsApp, and that is what we used as well, was extremely efficient and helpful, especially with organising a one-day tour for us. 3. Arrival and check-in We arrived at the airport about 1 p.m. by cab and were able to check in straight away. The whole process was smooth and non-problematic. We were able to use our card to pay for the room without any problems. Please remember that there will be a city tax added to your bill. It is a small amount and far less than what you have to pay in Italy, Germany, and France. The very polite receptionist gave us all the information we needed for our stay. We also meet in real life the manager Joli, everyone we met in the hotel could speak perfect English, which made our life much easier, as we do not speak Albanian at all. 4. Room. We stayed in the Deluxe Twin Room. And again, it exceeded our expectations. Two huge wooden and very stylish beds, a comfortable mattress, pillow, and duvet. What else would one need to have a good sleep? The room was very tastefully decorated in old Albanian style, with an interesting wooden ornament on the ceiling, wooden chairs, tables, bedside tables, some carpets, and, of course, a huge two-door wooden wardrobe. There was also a minibar and television with access to YouTube and some streaming services (not that we watched it). Room is also equipped with extremely efficient and surprisingly quiet air-con unit. The room’s bathroom was quite spacious and had everything one would expect. Everything was really clean, and you could feel freshness in the air. 5. Breakfast. For our own convenience with reservations, we made sure that we would have breakfast included. This is an adorable hotel. I liked the uniqueness of the furniture and design. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good, too!

We stayed 5 nights and fell into a nice rhythm with the staff. Breakfast was excellent with eggs, meats, bread and pastry buffet style. Staff was very friendly. The location was prefect for visiting the Christmas market and castle.

This was an interesting hotel, clean, excellent staff, a reasonable buffet breakfast, but with limited parking.

My wife booked this hotel for 5 nights. It's a 30 min taxi ride from the Airport. Ideally placed in the centre of Tirana, down a quiet cul-de-sac. Hotel spotlessly clean, our bedroom on the first floor was a good size, with a decent bathroom. Breakfast was continental style, but good. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Would definitely visit again. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Nice and friendy staf. This hotell is far from 4* Need a lot of improvment to get there. But okay for 1 or 2 nights. Good location
