Dit hotel ligt op een prachtige locatie met een geweldig uitzicht. De kamers zijn wel wat gedateerd, maar erg schoon. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en we kregen ongevraagd hapjes van het huis bij de bestelde wijn. De keuken is geweldig en tijdens het diner heb je uitzicht op het Como meer. Het ontbijtbuffet was uitstekend.

Not many hotels can compete with the view of this hotel: Lake Como is a living painting. The hotel is less than average. The beds are hard, pillows too thick, shower tiny with curtains that stick to your legs and it was virtually impossible to open the shampoo bags. The hotel is over its expiration date, yet all services are there so I can still recommend it as long as you are aware it.

We revisited this hotel after 15 years.Our visit back did not disappoint us.We dined in the restaurant each evening,food was suberb as usual.Staff amazing,especially Alex and Gabriella.The view from our balcony was amazing of the lake.Breakfast good too.Would high recommend staying here.

Dit hotel dateert van 1976 en dat straalt het ook uit qua sfeer. Zeg maar gerust vintage of retro. Dit doet echter niets af aan de kwaliteit en service. De bedden liggen comfortabel, er wordt goed schoongemaakt, de ligging en het uitzicht is uniek en het restaurant is prima, maar niet echt goedkoop. Parkeren bij het hotel is gratis, maar door het hoogteverschil en stijle bochten soms een uitdaging, het vergt meerdere malen steken. Om iets te ondernemen moet je met de auto eropuit. Nadeel is dat er weinig parkeergelegenheid is. Je kunt met de taxi-boot verschillende uitstapjes maken naar nabij gelegen plaatsen (o.a. Como), als het je lukt de auto ergens te parkeren. De hotelkamer beschikt over een balkon met uitzicht op het meer. De inrichting is praktisch, al zou de badkamer wel wat moderner mogen. Het personeel is bijzonder aardig en gastvrij. De (vermoedelijke) eigenaresse -een krasse bejaarde dame,-houdt het reilen en zeilen goed in de gaten, checkt de kamer op hygiene voordat je de sleutel krijgt, en spreekt goed Engels en Duits. Wij verbleven hier 4 nachten.

Hotel merveilleusement situe avec vue superbe sur le lac de Come. Gestion familiale apportant un excellent service . Reputation meritee pour le restaurant qui accueille de nombreux clients exterieurs. Les chambres ont toutes vue sur le lac et disposent d’une terrasse. Parking gratuit ( pas facile d’acces en raison de la pente, comme dans la plupart des residences en bordure du lac ) La decoration demodee pourra decevoir , mais on s’ y habitue. Les chambres ont une taille modeste et les salles de bain sont petites et sommaires. Mais on n’est pas dans un quatre etoiles, et les prix sont tres raisonnables. Si le confort et la decoration ne sont pas prioritaires, cet hotel est extra et nous en gardons le meilleur souvenir.

Just don't go here! We arrived and were faced with the steep parking area. On entry into the hotel it is very dark and drab and the corridors reeked of smoke. We went up to the room which was very basic and apart from the great view the rooms furnishings were basic and more akin to an army dormitory than a hotel. We went down and asked how to get down to the lake (since on one site a private beach is alluded to) were told to follow the path at back of hotel. It does not lead down to the lake. We asked at front desk again and were told that there was no beach (the website stating such is incorrect). My wife, granddaughter and I rapidly decided we needed to find another place to stay since the hotel was nowhere near what was advertised and is certainly not worthy of 3 stars. The front desk lady was quite angry that we were leaving but we accepted that we had to pay the rate for one night and gladly paid it to leave the hotel and find somewhere else. We went on an excursion the next day and the guide asked where we were staying in Torno and we conveyed that we had found the hotel poor and had moved, he quickly responded without any prompting from us "Hotel G.L.A.V.J.C" and said he had heard similar reactions before! The place has a local reputation of not being as good as people expect!!
