We popped in here for a cream tea as there was a large sign saying that the restaurant was open to all. We spent a good five minutes at reception, whilst the receptionist hesitated over whether walk-ins were allowed in, tried calling her boss to check, tried booking us in for a formal meal, and in the end asked us to walk through and 'try it and see'. Not the most welcoming of starts, but the restaurant staff were charming, helpful, welcoming, and we had a lovely spot and a cream tea. Special mention to the gluten free cream tea which was lovely. We did have to wait a very long time for the scones (two cups of tea each later) which was a shame in terms of timing, but the views were lovely and the waiting staff friendly and quiet.
