The Trouville

I had an outstanding stay at The Trouville. The host graciously upgraded our room to one bigger and comfier, informed us about the house keeping rules and also made sure we were aware that he would be on call if we needed anything else. The room was clean and tidy. Bathroom was well stocked and had a nice little view of the road with the colourful buildings. The location itself was perfect as everything was a near walk away which made it easier to find food and also head down to the Riviera. If you were planning on visiting Torquay again or like me visiting for the first time The Trouville is a great place to stay, I could not recommend it any more! The host started and ended our trip in the most positive and happy way and I would definitely stay again!

The proprietor and his wife were very friendly and helpful. The property was clean and decently decorated and furnished.The tariff was room only basis but breakfast was offered. Car parking was available but with limited spaces.

Subi gave us the warmest welcome on arrival. He very kindly carried our luggage up the stairs to our room. He gave us lots of useful information about the area. Nothing was too much trouble! We did send him an email at 2130 requesting some help and he came to our room straight away to offer assistance. Clean and tidy room with various amenities plus private, off road parking. All in all, extremely satisfied! Would recommend and will be returning.

I stayed here for 3 weeks while I was waiting to move back to Plymouth and it’s the best BnB I have ever stayed in the owners are lovely and will do whatever they can to make your stay the best, the room I stayed in was a great size with everything you would expect plus more, the breakfast is amazing and always cooked fresh, the BnB is a 5 minute walk from the seafront, the BnB is always clean and fresh, it’s has a lovely a**osphere, I will be staying again in the future when I come to Torquay on holiday Thanks so much for my wonderful stay Toby x

Very small room and even smaller bathroom. No room in there to dry after a shower. We arrived later in the day and as it was raining we wanted to order some food in only to be greeted with a sign saying no fish and chips or hot take away allowed!! I don't expect to be told what I can and cannot eat in a room I have paid for. Really disappointed and will not be returning or recommending.

Friendly team, clean room and good location. Breakfast is very good here.

The 'room' we were led to by the extremely rude and aggressive 'manager', was not the one we booked. It isn't even shown on the site so how could we have booked it! It was a room in a dark, dank and dirty basement with only half a window with daylight as the other half was blocked by steps leading to the front door! So no privacy. There were two single beds and one double in a strange layout. It looked more like a store room! None of the beds had pillows. We had to provide our own sheets and towels!There was no room for the promised desk because this was shown in the room we had BOOKED.we were asked to leave as the 'manager' considered us 'trouble' because we queried that the room booked was not the one we were offered! He denied he had such a room which I accurately described but it was on your site when I checked later. And he admitted that the basement was the only room he had left when we booked!This is a 'substitute' room decided by him as we were not advised of this change and was not our choice' So, at 4pm on a Friday night we were left trying to find a room for the night in an almost full Torquay. His behaviour was disgraceful, rude and very aggressive. We literally were speechless when he asked us to leave. His attitude when he saw us at the door revealed he did not like us on sight - possibly because he knew we would not accept his dreadul alternative. Finally, despite him saying he hadn't taken payment,our records show he did so BEFORE our arrival!!!!!

All the bedding was damp, my daughter found a glow stick in her bed there was a slug in the shower, it was a dreadful room and definitely not worth the money. The property had just been taken over and the old owner was still involved he was awful he insulted my girls he was rude and made you feel comfortable definitely will not be staying there again and would not recommend it to anyone.

The room we booked in was rather smaller than I had imagined (my fault possibly for not checking the website...maybe). The host was very nice but gave the impression he wasn't really the owner; he was sort of detached/disinterested. He did not seem aware that I have paid half up front via *******, which seemed odd. The cooked breakfast was good, to be fair. It was stated that the cleaner was coming in on our second day and that towels would be removed. One was added; none taken away. No cleaning was visibly undertaken. The shocker happened on last morning when I went under the bed in search of something I had dropped. Never have I seen such a ***** landscape of accumulated filthy debris: a single flip flop, peanuts, an assor**ent of lost nails, small plastic bottles, the broken hooks of clothes hangers, and around twenty scrunched up tissues. Eeeew!
