Having arrived in Tozeur at night and without any reservation, we tried to find accommodation in a house in the medina. Between our comings and goings we saw the Hotel Castilia -conveniently located on the entrance avenue- but its new and functional aspect did not fit in with our aspirations of "merging into the local typicality" so typical of tourists. Failing to do so, we decided to be practical and resign ourselves to the benefits of modernity in Castilia. We couldn't have done better. Our suite was spacious, well-furnished and comfortable, without any noise problems. The quality/price ratio is very acceptable and all the hotel staff are courteous, efficient and friendly. For its part, the restaurant defended the local gastronomy very well. But also, luckily for Castilia, there is Hedi, their manager. We must be very grateful to his cordial, attentive treatment and the patience he had to explain to us -with first-hand knowledge and not at all interested- which places were of greatest interest and how to optimize our time. In few places is that desire to "arrive as a client, leave as a friend" materialized so well. And if Castilia does not lack merits as an establishment, even if it were just for such a warm experience, I would allow myself to recommend it.
