I was here for 2 nights for business. I was not a fan of no bath in the room, but tried to make the best of it. Several issues really stand out: 1) I did not get good sleep because the building is just loud! With no hall carpets and really high ceilings, you can hear people talking plainly in rooms across the hall. Late night discussions in the hall reverberate. I was woken up multiple times after 11pm because the room above me had creaky floors and people were walking around. 2) Perhaps the following issues are result of the staffing crunch but it definitely lessened the experience. Paper towels out in the bathrooms near meeting rooms. Sinks clogged in the communal baths near my room (really gross). They ran out of key cards when I checked in - they were walking people to their rooms so you could put your stuff in, but then you couldn't get back in if you left. Or get into the bathroom. 3) Initial setup for for my company's business meeting had us literally touching elbows for a 2 day mtg. Midday, the facilitators got another table so that we could all feel a little bit more human and and be able to pay attention to the meeting. If you are excited about the experience of staying at a historical property, this is a great place because of the music venues, the various eating venues, and just the sense of fun that is intended at this place. But for a business meeting, it's not good. I am going to my 2nd day of meetings with only 5 hours of sleep.
Excellent
