I started out in my younger days staying at 3 star hotels working myself up to 5 star hotels these days. On this recent weekend trip i held back on my post xmas spending and got a great deal at Kore so I took a chance on it despite all the negative reviews. I think the 1 out 5 star ratings are ridiculously unfair. Rooms were big, clean, and comfy. Location was decent and had great views of the sea. I only had breakfast as I like to get out and explore, so I couldn't tell you much about the quality of food. The waiters were good, as soon as I sat down, my coffee was poured. After they recognized I tip, I never had to wait in line to get my omelets...lol. best part was the service from the front desk concierge (the Mexican soap opera looking guy) Victor. Dude was always so nice and helpful. Upon checkout, I had a late flight out, he knew that I love bike riding, so he let me keep my bracelet to have access until my shuttle arrived. I did not experience most of the issues on these reviews. English speaking staff was a challenge, but i found that was an issue everwhere I was in Tulum. Overall, if you were to go by the strict AAA guidelines, this hotel would probably recieve a 3-3.5 rating and closer to a 4 by the generous booking sites. This was no Hyatt, but a good value. Dont let those 1 star ratings discourage you. My rating does not include the quality of food...

Let’s see/ the place looked beautiful online but it was DEAD. Service is slow and non chalant and they care way more about trying to upgrade you than accommodate you. I did enjoy the free bicycle but it ended at 6 pm. It’s a $40 USD cab ride each way to go catch dinner on the hotel zone with others. The room at a hot tub that only ran cold and takes 40 min to fill. The tv remote would not switch to English The ac stopped working at 3 am They only left 2 bottles of water for whole stay in Mexico where you can’t tap. The room fan didn’t work The water pressure was super low. The water turned off from 4-7 am as in no plumbing ! Oh and I paid for a $75 USD dinner and then proceeded to get extreme food poisoning from it. The phone to call the front desk was not answered till 7 am. They told me it was probably from a mosquito” and that they could only extend my checkout 1 hour without charging me another $100. I was so sick I couldn’t leave the room. No one came to help w bags. When i did leave at 1 pm the lady was like “you’re my very last checkout” as if it was my fault I got food poisoning at their resort. The taxi to get to hard rock riviera maya was $108 USD… all around … not a good stay even if the property looks pretty.

I have stayed in so many all-inclusive hotels, and this one is one of the most rubbish. There is only one restaurant and no beach. Very very bad attitude! We were assigned a house without hot water, and communication with the front desk was fruitless. We had to ask Ctrip to help communicate. It took 3 hours to change us to another one... Really invincible garbage, the Chinese people avoid lightning!

Alberto was the best part of our stay! Amazing entertainmrnt coordinator. The property can stand to provide a daily schedule of events so guest will know what is taking place daily. Also, making sure water is not brown in rooms for proper bathing to take place.

We pay extras money for the room have bathtub…you can’t even use it. Water is dripping in to the tub and not even hot…end up we have to use champagne bucket to carry water from the shower to fill up the tub. How terrible is that. Shower water even keep same temperature…minute cold next minute is hot burn. On hotel website said that few restaurants open on this property…is only one open and the food is so bad. Very dry and low quality. I always have mimosas with my breakfast when on vacation and they said no service wine till 11am. On grapes fruit tray have “maggots” I did call the manager to show him…I forgot to bring my phone to take pictures and post it here. I travel a lot I don’t complain unless very bad and terrible. The owner need to fix the water problem. Restaurant need to do better. All the staff is need and friendly. The room is clean.

There is a huge lack of communication between travel agencies and this resort things that were offered in my travel package were not things that the resort were aware of. So a spa package was part of it and I was told by the manager who on a regular basis, was nowhere to be found that for a courtesy he would give me 20% off when my package gave me a $200 credit to the spa. I said to him that wasn’t acceptable when I actually did find him two days later. As a manager of the resort one, he should’ve at least called my room. Something to at least acknowledge that I did ask for some thing, but I had to go seek him out. the other employees at the desk had no clue their English was very broken and could not communicate properly with me tried as much in Spanish as possible however, it still didn’t translate completely, so I was told to wait for him to come back. Which is not acceptable. When they close you inside of the resort, safety reasons yes however I felt like a prisoner. Also, how are you or beach resort that you cannot go onto the beach there’s just a pool. In order to get to the beach you have to ride a bike, walk, or rent a scooter and pay to get to the beach when you already paid to come to the resort that is on the beach. The website advertises activities that happen on the resort the days that I was there not one activity happened and I do know that there’s a disclaimer there that says due to weather and participation, events may not occur. However, there was no weather problem and if you don’t try to start some thing you won’t find out whether or not people are going to do it because there’s no sign-up for any of the activities. There was no posting of anything I just had to keep looking on the website nothing is posted not even where are your meals are etc. I also had a Jacuzzi in my room that didn’t even stop up so I couldn’t even use it. So what was the point of that and of course there is no one anywhere to be found to tell them this. I also had to ask for someone to adjust the fan in my room for it to work. I left the resort for an hour or two came back and asked if anyone checked on it and they act like they didn’t know what I had asked for when I specifically called for someone and gave them my room number. Overall, if you’re someone who just once to go fly across the country to sit at a pool this is the place for you. If you actually would like for proper communication to actually go on the beach and be able to have the food and be at the resort with the all inclusive likes so many other resorts that are on the beach that you can actually get to. they have such a beautiful view however, you cannot touch the sand. Not to mention even directions that they give you to go to the beach or go straight and keep going straight until you can’t go anymore and turn that’s not directions for someone who doesn’t know where they’re going to get to a beach. I am a first time solo international traveler however, this was not at all what I expecte

The property has nice landscaping, pretty buildings, is quiet, and with a good ocean view. The main issue is water and amenities. The water pressure is low, sometimes comes out brown, almost always the wrong temperature. It made for uncomfortable showers and no jacuzzi in the room or spa as advertised because of the dysfinctional water. The amenities were inconsistent ... Things like did we get water in our rooms, shampoo, syrup for pancakes... For some reason these little things just were not consistently available. And the food was just average, pretty bland, but adequate portions.

Where do I start? I booked this hotel for my mother's birthday, and if I hadn't had some incredible experiences lined up, I would have been so disappointed. When requesting our meal be returned to the kitchen as it was cold, the waiter suggested the breeze outside was what had made the food cold. Sure, the breeze that evening was great, but I can assure you it didn’t freeze the mashed potatoes, broccoli and BBQ ribs on my plate. Even when the food returned, it was still lukewarm. So when people say the food is bad. They didn’t lie. You can expect lukewarm food that lacks seasoning. And for an all-inclusive, that’s shocking. What’s even more shocking is that the cocktails don’t even ease the blow of how terrible the food is. Clearly pre-mixed, but truly terrible. We figured out the best cocktails were either a tequila sunset or a rum punch. But for a country that specializes in tequila, the margaritas at this hotel were diabolic. The hot tub in our bedroom wasn't usable. The water was green, and even when someone came to "fix it", we still weren't able to use it. I saw online that the hotel offers a free shuttle to a nearby beach club, but this service is no longer available. It was disappointing as it was one of the factors that played a part in us staying here, but alas. Overall, this hotel's location is great, and Yarida and Edna at the spa were incredible. We booked a couple's massage, and they were truly amazing. I wouldn't stay here again.
