I loved this place! It was luxurious, romantic, and seamlessly connected us with the beach. After the long ride from the airport, arriving here felt like stepping into a postcard. Room: Gorgeous. We had an ocean view suite facing southwest. The decor is tropical modern aesthetic. The plunge pool was large, and I loved sitting on the swing with my feet in the water. The bed was a bit short, but wide. There is a fridge and plenty of seating. The shower has double heads and the door seals flush with the ceiling, so it becomes a big steam room. The water is fresh/filtered, which is important because some other Tulum hotels have salty water in the shower, and you will want to shower 2+ times a day due to the humidity and ocean. They have big bottles of L’Occitane products, as well as various kits (shaving, dental, comb) in case you forget toiletries. Bottled water is delivered daily w/housekeeping. You walk straight onto the sand from the stairway to your room, and they keep the sand well-maintained (cleaned, raked flat). Common areas/facilities: Well-designed, peaceful. The breakfast/restaurant area is ensconced with tropical vegetation on one side and the lobby on the other. The beach club has nice cabanas and lounge chairs. There is a small cenote-style pool that is beautiful with wrap-around tropical vegetation (and a viewing window to the ocean), perfect for rinsing off the salt water after enjoying the ocean. I didn’t use the gym or sauna, but they looked nice. Service: Excellent. Shoutout to Ricardo, who is one of the hosts/representatives who helped to check us in. He was very kind and helpful. The staff are friendly and there are little touches that feel personalized and comforting. For example, in my room I used the robes on the first day and hung them in a specific place, then the next day new robes were hanging there rather than folded away. Or, one day I spent a while swimming/floating peacefully in the cenote pool, and when I turned around to leave there was a fresh towel waiting for me. The restaurant servers who had us for breakfast before remembered that I like regular milk with my coffee. They bring little sweet treats at night before bed (though I think this may just be if you booked over a certain number of nights). Breakfast: Delicious. The continental breakfast comes with fresh fruit, toast and pastries, butter, tropical jam, coconut milk yogurt, granola, coffee, grapefruit juice, and a tiny hot item. Location: Suited our needs well because we’re homebodies. It’s in the middle of the beach/hotel zone, and there are no loud or super-popular establishments immediately adjacent. You can hear the waves at night without noise pollution. There are several restaurants within a 10 minute walk, but you’ll need a cab if you want to get down to Ven a la Luz or up to the popular beach clubs (or walk by public playa to get to the main beach street, eg papaya playa project 15min walk). Food: I loved the flavors of everything I got of
