The people at the inn were very attentive and the atmosphere was very comfortable. The food was also delicious and there was so much we couldn't finish it. It would be nice to stay two or three nights instead of just one and relax. I would definitely use Nakamatsuya again.

A very unique Japanese-style hot spring hotel. The entire building is covered with tatami mats. The open-air hot spring on the seventh floor is great and you can see a lot of stars.

dinner. Nakai couldn't explain the meal. Why not check in advance? One more thing, it's too late to serve tea after saying you want it. Only there is disappointing though others were generally good.

I stayed at Nakamatsuya in Bessho Onsen for the first time in a year.As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by the familiar proprietress and staff, saying, ``Welcome home.''I went to my room on the 6th floor.I took a bath before dinner and relaxed. We headed to the restaurant on the second floor for a fun dinner.Tonight we had a matsutake kaiseki meal that can only be enjoyed at this time of year. The grilled matsutake mushrooms were grilled on the spot by the staff. The freshly grilled matsutake mushrooms had a crunchy texture and a perfect aroma. We enjoyed a once-a-year luxurious meal with matsutake mushrooms such as pears, steamed matsutake mushrooms in clay pots, tempura, and matsutake rice. This breakfast is made with new rice harvested by the staff who are also rice farmers, and we also tried hoba miso for the first time. It was exquisite. After breakfast, we paid a visit to the nearby Kitamukai Kannon, and then we were seen off by the staff before heading out. As always, the customer service of the hostess and the waitress was heartwarming and wonderful.

Bessho Onsen is the oldest hot spring in Nagano Prefecture and is located about 30 minutes from Ueda Station by local train. It's not big, but it's quiet and has a calm atmosphere. Nakamatsuya Ryokan is a long-established inn with a history of 300 years and is located in the center of the hot spring town. It's not a big ryokan, but the atmosphere is very nice and you can spend a relaxing time here. The food was well thought out and delicious. The hot spring is free-flowing from the source, so you can take a bath anytime without worrying about the time. The inside of the building, including the rooms, has tatami mats, and the fact that you can move around the building without using slippers made me feel at home. I think this is the perfect hot spring inn for those who want to relax in a quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of the city. In addition, Kitamuki Kannon is also recommended here, which is about a 1-minute walk from the inn.

Most of the employees at the inn were very friendly and casually attentive. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the food was just the right amount and very delicious for us. From the owner, Mr. Nakai, the person in charge of the front desk, to the driver of the pick-up service, I could feel the desire to treat our guests in a pleasant manner, and I left the inn feeling happy and satisfied. It was an inn that I would come again if I had the chance.

This Onsen hotel was to die for. The service and amenities were great. The staff endlessly accommodating. The view from the Onsen on the 7th floor is great. The food and beverage are way more than a human should eat :-), but are tasty and presentation was top notch.
