Very nice rooms, beautifully renovated. Lovely bar by the infinity pool, which has amazing views. Also enjoyed the Rick Stien restaurant on site.

From the moment we walked in we were treated so well. With a complimentary bottle of champagne chilling in our room for our anniversary, a relaxing swim with a spectacular view of the ocean, cocktails by the pool then spa in our room and off to Rick Stein’s for dinner - how could you go wrong. Don’t think twice! You’re worth it! Book it now and you’ll never regret it!

don’t go if you are not a couple. singles -Not good enough for Bannisters By the Sea. No twin beds. Fine ALL other places have Queen beds that can be made into singles. Seemingly too simple for Bannisters by the Sea. Bigots. We are 2 sisters travelling together and this was for my birthday. If I get the chance to badmouth you I will.

This is an outstanding hotel. I could park close to my room, which was very easily entered without having to go down a corridor. The room itself was most tastefully furnished, spotlessly clean and very well equipped and maintained. There was a beautiful panoramic view of the sea from the front windows. It was wonderful going to sleep with the sound of waves. There was also a sliding insect screen. The bed was most comfortable and the air conditioning worked quietly and well. The bathroom was perhaps a little small but had a good shower and plenty of high quality towels. Contrary to another review I saw, the toilet in my bathroom was quite close to the shower but not in it. Binoculars were thoughtfully provided to admire the view. Staff members I encountered were polite and helpful. Dinner in the restaurant was particularly good. Ambience and service there were excellent. I also enjoyed breakfast although I would have preferred it to start at 7.00 am rather than 7.30 am. There is much lovely coastal scenery near the hotel that I saw on my walks from it. I can highly recommend this hotel and will stay in it again.

The view of the ocean is beautiful. The hotel is small and intimate. The service was great - very friendly staff that made you feel welcome. Food was really good at the pool bar and Rick Stein restaurant. But for the price they charge per night, the hotel is underwhelming. The spa deluxe room was nice, but for the price I expect it and the amenities to be less basic. It seems more a nice motel than luxury hotel, so I would expect the price to be much lower.

Nested in a precious corner of Mollymook, Bannister by the Sea didn’t disappoint. With its stunning views, green surroundings and chic environment, is worth spending some time there . Rick Stein chose well when he decided to have one of his restaurants there. The food was delicious!. It’s not a 5-star review because there was an incident with the pedicurist that the manager solved quickly and the access to the rooms doesn’t make justice to what is inside and beyond: the most spectacular view of the ocean.

This is the most disappointing place I have ever visited. What you get is way off the mark for the price. The best part of Bannisters by the Sea is view. Our room had a beautiful view over the sea and the pool. However everything else was a disappointment for the price we paid. It’s basically a motel. All rooms go directly to the outside straight into the car park. Every morning of our stay the cleaners woke us up at 7.45 banging their mop buckets and bins directly outside our room. If we forgot the do not disturb sign they were knocking at 9am to clean our room!! The service was entirely for the benefit of staff timetables. Breakfast was 7.30-10 am strict, so no good if you’re after a lazy morning or prefer to eat breakfast after exercise. We arrived at 9.50 one morning to find the buffet being packed away and were told that we’d better be quick as the kitchen closes at 10. We had the same luck at the pool bar when we were told at 2.35 pm that the kitchen closed at 2.30!! There wasn’t much emphasis on providing what guests want. It was a rigid timetable that guests had to adhere to. Our room was pleasant but was nowhere near what you expect at this price. The room was tired and poorly designed (no plugs by mirrors so had to stand in the bathroom to dry hair, horrid carpets, toilet IN the shower!). We also had an awful time with crickets during our stay. They were everywhere. I was even disappointed with the Rick Stein restaurant. It was nice but nothing special at all and the decor was tired. There isn’t a great deal to do in Mollymook so I would recommend a car. We had a nice day out a Cupitts Winery and drove to some beaches further north (Hyams Beach and Green Patch beach where there’s lots of kangaroos and wallabys). So, I do not recommend this place. There are thousands of places in the world and quite a few in Australia where you will get much more for your money. I

This is our 4th time here and it’s still great. We had room 22 which is a suite overlooking the ocean and the pool . Everything was wonderful. We had dinner in the Rick Stein restaurant ( see separate review) , drinks at the pool bar, in room dining and all were top notch. Staff were efficient and friendly ( special shout out to the lady who brought our in room dining meals) . The room itself is stunning and the bed comfy. No complaints al all.

During our stay at Bannisters By the Sea, we opted for the Ocean Deluxe room with a south-facing view. The room provided wonderful ocean views, which created the soothing sound of waves crashing against the rocks at night. While the bathroom was functional, we found it to be on the smaller side, with the peculiar arrangement of having the toilet within the shower. One highlight of our stay was dining at the Pool Bar, which pleasantly surprised us with its excellent food quality and service. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we returned for a second night. An unexpected treat was watching dolphins swimming in the ocean from the Pool Bar. After experiencing both Bannisters By the Sea and Bannisters at Port Stephens, I can confidently say that Bannisters By the Sea has become my preferred choice for accommodation. With its stunning ocean views, excellent dining options, quality service and memorable moments like spotting dolphins, it was the perfect weekend escape.
