Spent two nights at Hotel Antardida and it was everything I expected. The breakfast was nothing special -could have done with more fruit- but what do you expect at this price. For the price and what it offers, it represents very good value.

It was almost before the start of the journey to Antarctica on a yacht. I was terribly nervous. Compared to other hotels in the city, which you are tormented to find decent ones, fate decreed the availability of places here. Not the worst place, but, sorry, that wasn’t what I was thinking about.

Where to start? We go in parts: ARRIVAL: Bad reception. The rude employee who was at the reception neither good morning nor welcome nor anything! He opens a notebook and makes you write down. He gives you the key to the room and you get ready. They gave us a room on the 3rd floor. The “hotel” does not have an elevator so 3 floors of stairs!!! The only point in its favor is the location, half a block from Av. San Martin (the main one). ROOM: the photos were wonderful!!! When we entered, there was almost no room for both of us!!! Very little space, no safe, door with a normal key, no card and stuff!!! Loose tiles in the bathroom!!! The only redeemable thing is the heating, the rest……No words!!! CLEANING EMPLOYEE: She knocks on the door to see if you want cleaning because once she goes to the downstairs she doesn't go up “because it makes me tired to go up and down.” Don't they pay you to clean? BREAKFAST: having breakfast or not was the same!!! Croissants, toast (old, hard or rubbery), coffee, milk and water for tea or cooked mate with a beautiful sign asking to think of others and only consume 2 croissants!! RECEPTION STAFF: neither good morning, nor good afternoon, nor good night. Whatever you ask them they don't know, they don't look you in the face and they are somewhere else!!! HOTEL DEPARTURE: check out is yes or yes at 10 am. Since we have a much later flight, we asked to leave our suitcases. They made us leave them in the middle of the dining room, a place where people circulate all the time. Shouldn't they have a room or some safe space for these occasions? And the “so polite” of the employee saying: nothing ever disappeared here! Miss's mistake: they lost our room key one morning and they wanted to blame us!!! If after reading all this you still want to visit this hotel for your stay in Ushuaia: I Pity YOU!!! A shame for tourists that there are places and people like this that make your stay sad and have a bad time!!!

It is a basic hotel as I said, but it has good points in its favor, to start with the water pressure in the shower which for me is essential, it has a bathtub and the heating is good, the location is central. The breakfast doesn't stand out at all but it does the trick, I don't know if I would return but I can't say that it is a bad hotel either.

It is a place where the rooms are not good, the ceilings are broken, the heating does not work in all places, the carpet is torn in some rooms, the breakfast crescents were from the previous day. It is not a good hotel

Good start with the RESERVATION, make the payment in pesos, as the card costs more than double due to conversion. As a result, I canceled the reservation through booking and made it through the hotel.. the hotel did not refund me the correct amount, they refunded me 385.00 reais and charged me 895.00. The hotel has a bad smell, undone repairs, stained sheets and dirty towels that look like floorcloths. Today when I went to serve myself a coffee with milk it was cold... I asked the receptionist if I could warm it up a little, he said that this service was not included in the daily rate!! Hehe just laughing!! The heating is not adjustable, so the rooms are very hot! The only good thing is that it is central! They don't do basic maintenance, the bathroom curtain extender broke and they "fixed" the horrible mattress with duct tape!!! I rate it as terrible! I've stayed in simple hotels, but nothing compared to this one!!!

I never gave a negative opinion of any establishment I went to, but we had such a bad experience with a friend that I have to share it in order to warn future users of what they are going to find, so that they have information before deciding to hire this hotel. : When we arrived the hotel was overbooked so they gave us a supposedly temporary room for one night until ours is vacated. The room was horrible, dirty, the carpet worn and filthy. THERE WAS NO HOT WATER!!!! IN USHUAIA!!!!! So we couldn't shower. The towels were stained, musty smelling, old and torn. The beds and pillows were very old: expired and thin. The bedding was old, stained and torn. The heating did not work at all well. The window is boarded up!!!!!!!! The night we arrived there were some German foreigners who the owner of the hotel (later we found out was the owner) was treating them terribly. Breakfast was only two croissants per person. Needless to say, we left the hotel the next morning. The staff was not well disposed and seemed to be afraid of the owner. When the owner assisted us to return our money, he never asked us what happened because we were leaving and was reluctant to give us a refund. He yelled at us. It was mistreatment and a violent and horrible situation. We ended up accepting less money than we had paid so we could get out of there quickly.
