曾經的皇宮，如今的酒店，從裡到外透露出從容不迫的氣息。酒店就在烏特勒支的老城區，去哪裡都特別方便，停車位充足，值得停留，值得體驗。

Tout est super ! Déjà l accueil, ensuite la chambre dans l annexe ,très confortable propre spacieuse. La situation centrale pratique pour visiter la ville et le cadre enchanteur. J ai beaucoup aimé !!! Les prix sont corrects Nous avons testé le restaurant, a l'image de l hotel, c était parfait et même le chef nous à parler français !! Gentil serveur adorable Le seul bémol, est uniquement pour le petit déjeuner pas assez de choix dans les vienoiseries ou gâteaux...car nous ne mangeons pas d oeufs, bacon etc. Parking gratuit !! Je recommande vivement

Perfekte Lage im wunderschönen Utrecht. Komfortables Parken für 25 Euro direkt am Hotel. Der Innenhof sehr gepflegt. Doch der Check-in gestaltete sich schon schwierig. Gebucht haben wir ein Zimmer über die Hotel-Internetseite. Beim Ankommen waren wir gezwungen ein Upgrade von 40 Euro zu bezahlen, weil wir angeblich ein Zimmer gebucht hatten, wo wir mit einem Hund nicht übernachten durften. Leider gibt es auf der Internetseite keine Möglichkeit einer Auswahl der Kategorien. Zusätzlich weitere 40 Euro für den Hund. Etwas überteuert, aber das nimmt man dann hin. Dafür gab es immerhin ein Kissen und Näpfe. Die Zimmer sehr geräumig aber nicht sehr gemütlich. Fleckiger Baldachin über dem Bett. Den 5. Stern sucht man leider vergeblich ...

A wonderful stay at this superb 5 Star hotel in the heart of the beautiful city of Utrecht. The wonderful Koen van der Berg and the team are the epitome of excellent customer services and high standards. This is my 4th visit and it won’t be my last. From the well appointed rooms and beautiful grounds to the excellent facilities, this has to be one of my favourite hotels. The Michelin Star Karel 5 Restaurant is simply sublime and an experience not to be missed. A culinary masterpiece awaits that scintillates the tastebuds and reveals delightful experiences in every bite. Chef Leon & his team bring theatre to the table. The passion and knowledge of the team ensures diners are captivated from the start of the performance. The star of the show is the ingredients and how they have been elevated into works of art and brought to life with classic, delicate finishes. I enjoyed every dish that was served on the meat & fish free set menu. Each one championing to be my favourite, only to push me into a quandary to decide which was the most memorable. A truly exceptional experience that embodies passion and excellence.

Een high tea gedaan bij Karel V, verwachtingen waren hoog van deze 5 sterren locatie. Vooraf kregen we een kom kreeftensoep (bisque om in hun Franse termen te spreken). Vind ik gewaagd bij een high tea, wordt niet gevraagd of je hiervan houdt. De soep was koud en onhandig te eten uit een grote kom met een theelepeltje. Wat betreft de scones die waren zo mini, plat en hard, en de daarbij behorende cream en jam was vreemd genoeg voor wel 40 ipv 4 scones. Broodje krabsalade zag er niet uit en was klef. Broodje zalm ging wel. Wat betreft het zoete gedeelte; daar konden we ook niet over naar huis schrijven. Bij een bakker haal ik het allemaal lekkerder, er was er één zo zoet dat die gewoon niet te eten was. Van het overige zoet is dan ook veel blijven liggen. En allemaal onder het mom van luxere hapjes. Nou laat het luxe er maar af, en er ook nog €49,00 voor durven te vragen. SCHANDALIG!! Ver boven de prijs van andere (en betere) high teas die we gedaan hebben. Dit was eens maar nooit meer.
