The Phoenicia Malta

Fabulous in every way, over the top service and friendly, helpful staff. This is the best option by far for a hotel adjacent to the main sights of Valletta and it is literally across the street from the central bus station which will get you all over the island of Malta. Perhaps my best 5 star hotel experience ever.

This is a very good hotel and we had an excellent stay here. The hotel is just outside the centre of Valletta at the end of Republic Street, so it is within walking distance of all the main attractions in Valletta. It is near to the bus station and there is a taxi stand just outside the hotel, so it is a good base for exploring outside Valletta. There are extensive, well maintained gardens within which there is an outside pool where there is a bar where you can get get light food dishes. There is an excellent breakfast buffet with lots of options and a number of cooked dishes that can be ordered. All the staff were very friendly and very helpful.

Great location and very comfortable. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in a hotel. The courtyard is great for tea and relaxing with a book. Loved the spa massages. Lovely garden and grounds. The only thing that detracted somehow was that the rooms were relatively small, and the furniture looked a bit tired. We had to upgrade ours. All in all a great hotel

This is our 6th Saturday for Brunch and have to say it’s just wonderful. The staff are great and I have to give a special mention to John and Rose who treat us like family every time we visit. The food is fabulous and the Prosecco just flows. Our Saturday treat!

BETTER THAN THE RITZ, the best hotel experience my grandparents have ever had. We cannot wait to come back. I booked this hotel for my grandparents who are in their late 80's, so service was my biggest concern. I sent a list of requests to the fabulous concierge team before their arrival, everything was accommodated with ease; even down to my grandfathers morning newspaper. They remarked about the sheer amount of staff, how well presented they were, how kind, how knowledgable and just overall dedicated to their craft the staff at the Phoenicia were. Having visited the hotel myself, I know how beautiful it is. The grounds and facilities are just perfect. The food and drink options are endless and very artisanal. My grandparents were particularly impressed with the beautiful breakfast, equipped with a huge piece of fresh honeycomb and roasted ham among countless other beautiful delicacies. Of particular note for them was the brilliant steaks served at the Contessa. They even had the chance to meet the wonderful General Manager who they found to be extremely professional and welcoming. I simply cannot recommend this hotel enough. Every little thing was taken care of, a true five star experience. Having visited the Ritz London frequently, this is my Grandfather's new favourite hotel. We shall be back for more. Many thanks to the whole team at the Phoenicia, including especially the concierge team especially Jonathan who I was in regular contact with prior to their stay. A true gem.

From the moment you walk through the doors of the Phoenicia in Valletta you are welcomed as an old friend. The elegance of the Palm Court Lounge to the wonderful views from the Conservatory dining area. Dining experiences cover all areas and some really are outstanding. The hotel provides a country house feel that is quite glamorous but not pretentious. Walking through the extensive gardens with their private seating areas is lovely in itself but doesn’t really prepare you for the fabulous infinity pool area and dining facilities that await you. Cannot recommend this hotel too highly, we were very sad to leave but will be returning very soon fingers crossed.
