Only stayed for one night before our flight back to London. The room is big enough for a couple. Bathroom & toilet is modern & clean. No kettle/coffee facility in the room but the restaurant area is very accessible. Iron & iron board is available inside the room so that is handy. Breakfast is very good with many selections including hot food.

If possible, I would have given no stars. I booked 2 rooms by phone with the reception for leaving and arriving from vacation. During the conversation I was informed that the parking would be free of charge. The receptionist told me that we had this advantage for the whole stay (10 nights), since we also booked a second stay for our arrival. When we arrived at the hotel we were told we should pay an extra 45€/car (one week parking fee) for three extra nights that our two cars would stay at the hotel parking! This was the first time we were told that only one week of parking would be provided. This was definitely not what I was told by phone - so basically they lied to me. I think this hotel tries to fool people with ”free parking” and most of the travellers won’t bother to complain. We did not stay - but found a hotel with good location near the airport with much more reasonable price.

If this review was of the shuttle bus from the airport we would give it 5 stars as the driver was first class, really friendly and welcoming and did a great job as ambassador for the hotel, helped us with our luggage and advised us on our travel into Helsinki for the evening...a true gentleman. The hotel itself was ok. We managed to get a good night's sleep here, bed was comfy although someone had obviously smoked in the room as it smelled of smoking. The WIFI was not available on the night we were there ( no internet connection). We couldn't get the AC to work which was a shame as it was very warm when we were there however at least we were able to get the window open so it eventually cooled down. The room otherwise was fine and the bathroom had modern fittings. Plenty of hot water for showering before heading back to the airport by 10 minute shuttle bus ride, so very convenient for the airport. Didn't try the breakfast arrangents as it was such an early start . We liked that we could get the shuttle bus back to the airport and then get the train from there out to Helsinki centre for sight seeing and restaurants. Very good shuttle service.

Clarion hotel Aviapolis is conveniently located near the airport. It’s a design hotel which is still in a fairly good shape because it’s quite new. I recommend the hotel but hotel room amenities are maybe below standard. At least you have to pay for all the extra that can otherwise be included in the price.

The location is good, but compared to Hilton and Scandic outside, the location advantage is not as big as the room disadvantage. If you are willing to walk for 10 minutes, the two outside ones are better. Another advantage is that if you check in at the Hilton before 2pm, you will have to pay an extra 15 euros, but you don’t have to pay this.
