Bring US $1 bills to tip! Just got back from amazing one week at Kawama. After initial slight shock of how run down all resorts seemed to be (learned during our trip that after Covid the government took over most resorts, so general upkeep is minimal), we were very pleased even with our low cost room. AC was set to 17C so rooms were cold compared to 23C night and 30C day heat outdoors. Beds were some of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve slept in! Food was very tasty although the same menu somewhat repeated itself daily (I heard this is the case at most resorts). Breakfast served until 10, lunch 12:30-2:30 and dinner 6:30-9pm, and a small snack at 11pm by the beach. Booking the a’la-carte was not successful. But we found a pizza place (Sangria’s) nearby to celebrate a birthday and would highly recommend that too. Beach was beautiful as was the pool. Lots of chairs and umbrellas/ shade available. Pool bar and restaurant had amazing staff. Cleaning staff was also great and kept our room inviting. Entertainment staff were also great. Front desk had various people so harder to make connections and get good service. Toilet paper was limited (if existed) in the poolside bathrooms, but the ones by the lobby and the restaurant had usually some. I wish I had realized to bring more of our travel cash in $1.00 US bills. Credit cards aren’t used much even in restaurants in town but Canadian is accepted almost everywhere - change harder to get so expect to pay what bills you have. At the resort leaving $1 tip for services makes their day, but they only recognize CAD bills (even banks don’t take coins). So either bring USD for that or leave $5 CAD. We brought individually wrapped candies to hand out and they were very well received. The resort only had about half of it in use. The rooms in the far side and the pool there as well were closed. But the main pool and the smaller pool with a slide were both open as were the rooms on Varadero end of the resort. Evening entertainment was great as were the variety of activities offered throughout the day. Definitely going back next time in Cuba.

The facilities were good enough for what you pay. I should not complain about the food since given the circumstances they did their best to keep us fed at all times. In fact, they offered a large variety of meat and veggies, desserts, etc. On the other hand, for heavy drinkers, this place should be an oasis since you can have access to all the alcohol you want at all times. My husband certainly loved that fact. Regarding the entertainment, the first night with dance performers was good, however, the second one with singers was not. I think they should work harder on this issue. If you want a get away from Havana, this is definetely the place to stay. A very relaxing,enjoyable spot for honey mooners or loners who simply want to have time on their own.

Very satisfied, the room is big, clean and hygienic. Stayed here many times. All the staff are very friendly and greeted warmly when meeting. The food is also as expected. I like chicken legs, pork, eggs, fish, as well as fruits and ice cream. I understand that the chef tried his best, they just lacked seasoning. There are many cats in the hotel, they are docile and not aggressive.

The hotel has an excellent location with a huge well-kept green area, swimming pools, restaurants and barbecue areas and sports facilities. We had an all-inclusive meal plan, the food was quite tasty, a large selection of meat dishes, and the bar offered both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for every taste. The access to the sea and its own beach are wonderful, we are completely satisfied. Of the minuses, the number of rooms is very old, the plumbing does not work well, the furniture is tired, and I was also surprised that the duvet in the rooms does not have a duvet cover! But overall, I think the character’s friendliness and price-quality ratio are excellent!

There are many pensioners, the rooms are old, they moved them to another room, since the safe and TV did not work in the old one, but there were no Euro sockets, the lobby bar has delicious juices and friendly staff, the restaurant has bad meat, the waiters work well, the food is standard, but so-so. I wouldn't go there again

This place is really old and looks a bit cheap, but it's not cheap either. It's always out of stock when I put a 60,000 won price tag on the Internet as bait. Good service, very friendly workers. The facility is in very poor condition, the rooms do not have hot water, they do not have lighting, there are no towels. Not to mention the food, there is no variety in the buffet, always the same food. The cafeteria that opens at 11.30 at night has a limitation of 1 bread per person because there is no good bread, a total disaster

The room has a pungent smell, the bed doesn’t even have a bed board, you can only lean against the wall directly, and there is no hot water to take a shower. Anyway, I didn’t feel that the water was hot. When I first asked for Cuban pesos, the hotel didn’t charge pesos. I asked if I could exchange the money I just exchanged back, but the hotel refused. There are many mosquitoes in the hotel, but there is no mosquito repellent. It should be a habit of cheating foreigners, but foreigners are not easy to cheat. Now it is Cuba In the busiest season, the occupancy rate of the hotel should not be 20%. There is no wifi, and the signal is intermittent. The disposable cups for drinks are suspected to be reused. The cups are wet. What about the new disposable cups? It will be wet. There is no lobby in the hotel. Check-in is only available at 16:00. We were in a sea view room with a large balcony and large room. The only thing we didn't like was the food, but as Italians we are not very adaptable. The menu was buffet style and there was still a wide choice of foods. If you go, take room 804, I recommend it, I know it's the most beautiful they have. Thank you it was a good stay
