My wife and I stayed for two nights after a 5 night stay in the centre of Budapest. We were let down by Easyjet cancelling our flight home, so decided to extend our stay. After 5 hectic but brilliant days in Budapest it was a lovely contrast to stay in the little town of Vecses, only 10 minutes drive to the airport. We found the staff very helpful and friendly and our room was spacious and comfortable. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and we dined in the hotel one night. There is an a la carte menu or a reasonably priced buffet. We decided on the buffet which offered salads, soup, several main courses and desserts. Drinks were a bit more expensive than average in the city, but still cheaper than in many European countries. There is very little going on in Vecses, but there is an Aldi a few minutes walk away or if you're prepared to walk a few miles each way there is a large shopping mall called Market Central. It was over 30degrees but we enjoyed the walk passing through mainly quiet residential streets. A large beer was very welcome upon our return to the hotel, in lovely surroundings on the terrace, by the ponds and water features. It was great to have an early swim in the indoor pool before breakfast. We were the only ones in there at 8am, and again in the evening. The hotel offers a complimentary taxi to/from the airport which is a nice touch. We asked reception to arrange a pick up and the driver was bang on time. We would definitely go back to the hotel if we are in Budapest again.
Very Good
