Clocktower Inn Ventura

The Clocktower, however centrally located, is in desperate need of updates. The fireplace in the room was a bonus.

Ventura's Clocktower Inn promised a delightful getaway, but our experience was marred by a lapse in customer service. While the location was convenient, the room reasonably priced, and the front desk staff very friendly, (shout out to Erica for allowing us to check in early), the end of our stay was marred by a non-functioning shower after a busy day of activities. We spoke with two desk clerks about our situation, one the morning of our check out and one a few days later after we returned home. Both assured us that we would be hearing back from a manager about the situation and we were told we would receive a discount on our stay. It has now been 9 days and we have not heard from a manager. The Clocktower Inn's failure to resolve our complaint or even extend the courtesy of a simple follow-up call left us disappointed. As seasoned hospitality professionals, we understand the importance of customer satisfaction, but our experience fell short of industry standards. What otherwise was an enjoyable stay was tarnished by the management’s indifference towards our problem. The Clocktower Inn's lack of professional management was inexcusable. A hotel's true measure lies not in its amenities but in its ability to address concerns promptly and respectfully – a benchmark the Clocktower Inn failed to meet.

Great stay in walking distance from downtown Ventura

Cozy hotel. Very central location. Friendly staff. Minor details in the room for lack of comfort. All in all positive and would recommend

It’s always a pleasure to stay at the clocktower. Conveniently located in downtown Ventura, the rooms are cozy, the beds are comfy, and the great Ventura vibe is all around!

Granted we were having torrential rains…but the bathroom ceiling leaked so much the fan housing fell in the middle of the night for a loud awakening. There are quite a few new hotels coming to town and this one is falling terrible behind in renovations. Even with the “wet flooring” signs…lobby and stairs are covered in slippery tile.

The location was prime for downtown. You can walk to shops and dinner etc. the hotel is a little worn down. The dryer didn’t work and the air conditioner - heater in the room also didn’t work properly. It’s an old hotel, didn’t make it to the breakfast. It is noisy and you can hear your neighbors.

The exterior and lobby look very nice. The rooms themselves do not. The beds are cheap, almost too bouncy for two people to sleep in. The walls are pretty rough from years of repair. To the positive, the staff is very friendly and helpful (I left a bag, and they were happy to hold it until I could return for it), and breakfast was very good. The farmers' market around the corner made for a pleasant morning. I would stay there again.
