Best Western Vicksburg
4.1/598 Reviews
By far one of the nicest, cleanest properties we have visited. Registration desk very cordial, professional, and friendly. Made excellent dinner recommendations . Room 113 was quiet and very clean. Linens were fresh and plentiful. Property is on frontage road away from freeway. Clean pool area. Breakfast was a full meal with excellent service. As loyalty members, this Best Western is outstanding! Our thanks to manager, Trina Brown. Personal attention was greatly appreciated!
Steele Cottage
4.3/550 Reviews
Absolutely fantastic! Located in the heart of historic Vicksburg, Steele's Cottage is charming and filled with history -- truly a walk back into the last century. If only walls could talk! It is also only about a 5-minute drive to the National Historic Military Park, which is well worth a visit. Vicksburg was everything a civil war history geek like myself could hope for! The room was immaculate and filled with historical tidbits! The property manager (Tonya) was excellent and beyond helpful when a problem about reservation dates went cross-ways. (Totally my fault -- I entered them wrong). Breakfast was delicious, and served in the beautiful Duff Green mansion. The tour of that historic home afterward was very interesting! We enjoyed ourselves so much that we extended our stay another day, and will not hesitate to return and/or recommend to others.
Red Roof Inn & Suites Vicksburg
3.3/594 Reviews
At Vicksburg for work, so I was not interested in flair, just a place to lay my head (which is bald and the reason why that is significant below). The building and grounds looked nice, so I estimated that the hotel would be clean and comfortable. I checked in (room 125). The clerk on duty was quite cordial and knew the administrative work to which she was assigned. The suitcase stand was broken and in a pile in the garment storage cubby to which I thought ”labor shortages, high demand, I'll not gripe”. Stepping into the room however, I noticed that the floor itself (carpeted under the bed, faux wood planking elsewise) was dirty with dirt and other debris. The bathtub had a ring and there was, for some reason, a great deal of human hair lying about in the bathroom and behind the entry door. There was a band of some sort (perhaps the tamper seal for a pharmaceutical product on the floor between the nightstand and the bed frame, and some three feet away was a quarter. It was late, I retired. After rising, preparing for work, and getting going, I stopped by the front desk and asked the clerk to see to it that my room got cleaned, as I would be in Vicksburg for something like two weeks; she told me that she would leave word for the housekeeping crew, and I left it at that. Upon my return to the hotel that night, I found the room to be in the same state in which I had left it, save new bath linens were put in and the bed was made. Nothing else. The trash had not been emptied, the tub had not been cleaned, and the floor had not been swept. I complained to the clerk on duty who told me that there had been numerous complaints about housekeeping and that she could only leave word. I asked when the manager would be about, and was told that she worked strictly days, and was off Thursdays and Fridays. The next day after work, I found that the bed had been made up, but the fresh bath linens were simply laid next to the basin. A wadded-up hand towel was left on the dresser (an extra one, because I had used no hand towels). I took my own trash to the dumpster out front of the hotel. With minor league (NCAA) football coming to town during this part of the year, rooms are scarce; however, I was able to make reservations at another hotel in Vicksburg and I am moving over there tomorrow morning. As stated above, the hotel looks great at a distance, but once inside there are fixtures to be installed lying about, old mattresses in the stairwells, and general disrepair and decay. Unless nothing else is available and you need a place to get out of the weather, I recommend staying elsewhere.
Anchuca Historic Mansion & Inn
4.6/5100 Reviews
We had a wonderful stay at Anchuca. The staff came in on Thanksgiving Day to check us in. We stayed in the Queen's Slave Quarters and the room was perfect! You do hear the sound of the gurgling fountain all night long but it wasn't an issue for us. The sheets are super soft and the bed was incredibly comfortable! Breakfast was truly delicious and the coffee w/cinnamon was divine! We definitely recommend staying there on your visit to Vicksburg.
Motel 6 Vicksburg, MS
2.6/56 Reviews
I am homeless and being stalked by my ex bf I've had to stay at every hotel in Vicksburg that I could afford and was basically run out of every one except this motel. They are professional clean and showed me nothing but kindness. I'm so thankful for the owners. Without their support I may not have survived. God bless the owners and I can only hope to one day repay them for this simple act of true humanity. I recommend this hotel above any in Vicksburg MS. It's friendly safe affordable and the nicest I've stayed in yet. I can't be more grateful!
Quality Inn Vicksburg
3.4/5100 Reviews
In the category of you get what you pay for, the Quality Inn Vicksburg is just below what you'd expect for the price, even inflation adjusted. Others have rated cleanliness etc.. and are accurate, but our biggest gripe was the pool being locked closed 2 hours prior to stated time. Traveling with a couple awesome youngsters who were heartbroken when they took time to dress and prepare for a swim they'd looked forward to all day. Staff were indifferent and likely closed for their personal convenience, as they gave conflicting reasons to us and the overseas guests we met whom shared our disappointment. However, the 8 year old who requested and helped write this review, would like it know that she enjoyed the breakfast;)
