We spent our last night in Austria at the Harmonie. It is smart, well maintained and spotlessly clean located in a quiet backwater. There is quick and easy access to the city centre via the D line tram just a couple of minutes walk away. (Buy day or 24/48/72 hr passes online via the app for limitless transport but don't bother with the whole Vienna card which gives discounts to museums etc. as you are unlikely to get your money's worth) In the short time we were there the clientel at the Harmonie seemed to be mainly affluent middle aged couples. Loved the lounge with free afternoon tea and cake and library of art and music books. Our room was spacious and pristinely decorated with a large comfy bed, quality pillows and crisp bedlinen. Polished wood floors and sparkling bathroom with plenty of shelf space to put toiletries also a powerful magnifying mirror with good lighting. After a couple of weeks travelling with access to only showers I really appreciated a long and luxurious soak in the bath tub though my husband said the shower was not so great. Breakfast is served in the smart Bistro. The tables with formal white cloths are too small and cluttered with menus, bottles, glasses etc. The coffee was cold but the pot quickly replaced. A basket of gluten free muesli pouches and warmed gluten free bread items was brought on request (ask as soon as you arrive for breafast) which was impressive. Fruits, meats cheeses etc also available from the well stocked breakfast bar. Cooked breafast I think was also available. The Hotel Harmonie was one of my highlights of Vienna - just wish we had spent longer here than our Airbnb. We left the hotel at 8am, travelled to Wien Mitte via the D tram and U3 and were at the airport by 9am via the prebooked CAT with only our carry-on bags as we'd checked in our cases and printed our boarding passes at the CAT the day before. We also had use of lockers at the CAT to store our carry on bags prior to 3pm check in at the Harmonie. There were things about Vienna we found disappointing but the Harmonie and the awesome integrated transport system both left a favourable impression.
