Vienna Hostel Ruthensteiner

Really good, the vibes were amazing- most social hostel I’ve been to! Every night guests were at the bar singing, playing games, playing piano/ guitar, it was so nice. The pay as you feel dinner was really tasty and of course affordable which was handy. Location was amazing too, and the staff were super helpful. Couldn’t recommend more, I will be back if I ever come to Vienna again.

Cosy hostel with a great atmosphere and fantastic staff. The hangout area was very busy in the evening, which can be great for meeting new people. The hostel is not far from Schönbrunn Palace and only a few hundred metres from Vienna's Westbanhof. I can definitely recommend the Hostel Ruthensteiner.

Really nice experience, the staff is lovely and welcoming! The place is clean and quiet, safe to leave your belongings in lockers while you go on your adventures, nearby the westbanhof, ideal for a stay to visit the city! I strongly recommend that place

Honestly one of the best hostels I stayed in across Europe. The staff and volunteers were super friendly, and the reception had lots of helpful information about getting around Vienna and sightseeing. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the kitchen was functional. I was able to have a homemade meal every night for a tip which was so good. Lots of fun activities and social atmosphere. Location was quiet, whilst a little far away from the city it was close to an important underground line.

such an amazing place! i was initially weary because of the price, but it was sooo worth it. all the employees were so nice, there was a prominent sense of community, and i felt safe the entire time. facilities are also very nice and clean. super cheap drinks too!

Great place to stay with relaxed vibes, a comfy room, and a nice location near public transport & very affordable, met lots of travelers that I made friends with in a cool common area where everyone hangs out. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Vienna

Lovely communal areas and community atmosphere. Helpful signage and staff. Convenient location to transportation and restaurants. Enjoyed the live music and community dinners. Great recommendations for vegan restaurants.

Great place, stayed here over during the Christmas period, very good location if you are planning to go to the Schoenbrunn Palace or the city centre. They have a pay-as-you can dinner which was super handy during the Christmas period when the options were limited to take-out or Christmas market food. Easy to contribute 5-10 euros for a good quality home cooked meal. Definity the place to go in Vienna for a true hostel experience and to meet new people. The bar always had tons of people and an easy place to make friend's on your travels. I stayed in private room as a couple, price was very similar to the cost of two beds in a dorm. Still had shared bathroom facilities, which for a hostel is not a problem. Otherwise was clean and met all the expectations I had for a hostel. Some of the staff are temporary and are a little more pushy when it comes to how to pay for things at the hostel. ie, paying for breakfast before you sit down rather than after, or saying things like you "must to contribute 10 euros" for the pay-as-can dinners. But the permanent staff are super relaxed and are very accommodating. Free baggage storage too for anyone doing a night train out of Vienna. Strongly recommend learning the public transport system before arriving though. Hostel is very easy to get to using it, but it is a 30 minute walk to the nearest attractions so keep that in mind. The hostel has good offers on daily public transport cards. I didn't use their but it was 4 euros for a full day. Good place for couples and solo travelers.
